John, it was lastreleased by Airfix in 2000, with a Swedish aircraft on the box. So as Chad says, e-bay is your best option. But it would not surprise me if Airfix re-released it, i can't see this being a big candidate for a new tooling.

Some more nice additions Chad. I have the Nimrod as well, it is a biggy.

I guess I should add the TSR2 to the Holy Grail claim. EBay prices are out of control for that one.  Hopefully we’ll get a re-release in the coming years.

picked a few things up at the IPMS Blizzcon show Stash 9

I couldn't believe the price on the North Carolina book, when I asked the guy he said he had a entire crate of them and he's selling them at 50% profit Stash 10

Two loves in one here a Bf110 and a night fighter Stash 11

Another great night fighter kit Then the best deal I got at the show Stash 12

I need to do a lot of research on this one before I go starting on her. I had also won three kits in the raffle, a Russian jet, a Revell German Leopard tank and the Incredible Hulk I ended up giving all three to kids who had entered models into the show since they was things I knew I would never build.

I'll second that, i have been keeping my eye out for one. Though i think that was designed before the 2006 Hornby take over, i think the Nimrod was one of the first of the new breed of kits.

IIRC - Toshi built that one awhile back.  Might dig up his build log on it as an aid.  I think it went together fairly well.

Two GB kits arrived along with a Morgan yesterday pictured with others I've added since the end of last year. Demands at work and home have eased off the last couple of years hope to spend more free time on modeling.

I have been sooooo busy at work, That I made too much money. ( my wife claimed it all ..... but she missed some.)

So I ordered these from Hobbylinc.

And then.... my wife "Suprized" me, with another workbench.

I dont know how to tell her, that I dont have any time to build anything at the workbench I already have.......

( But I will take it .... and just shut up ! Who know's what else she will buy me ,... out of guilt ! )

Gonna haveta make some adjustment's in the shop, to fit it all in...

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Hi,

Today while at Micheals craft store I picked up a 3 shelf rolling cart to help me organize and store some of my model building stuff.  For now I have separated my decals, photo etch and other accessories on one shelf, my paint brushes, files, sandpaper and sanding blocks on another, and paints on the last shelf.  Hopefully tomorrow I can try and pick up some cheap "no-name" tupperware like bins to better sort the stuff, and also protect the metal shlves a little.  I guess it doesn't really count as a "model kit", though some assembly was required. Stick out tongue

PF

Cart

PS.  Ooops, I almost forgot, I also picked up this length of chain for $3-4, or so.  It looks to be close to 20 links/inch or so I hopefully may be handy for use either as a tow chain for some tank kits I am building or even anchor chain for small ship kits.  I just have to see if I can tarnish or tint it darker.

Tonight I bought an Airfix rarity. Ive been patiently waiting for this rare RAF jet that could have been a magnificent addition to the RAF stock. But, it wasn’t meant to be as misguided politics shut down the program.

It appears everyone is doing a stellar job of enhancing their stashes. There are some really impressive acquisitions. Nice job folks.

I've been lagging behind here lately. Mainly due to having to spend rather unexpected time shoveling snow here the desert. But, it's worth it as we are desperate need of the water.

I have scored a few kits between shifts though.

JOE RIX,

What scale are those ships? I'd really like to get my hands on 1/350 American CL.

[/quote]They are both 1/700 scale, Bruce. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Dragon has a 1/350 USS Juneau. It seems to me I've seen it somewhere before.

No, they all have been in 1/700.  I did a Atlanta class in resin a few years ago in 1/350. (Slightly converted to USS. San Juan, my Fathers ship.  Dragon did some nice destroyers and some escort carriers in 1/350 a while back.  Dragon was on good roll a few years ago.  Check out Trumpeter, they did a CL, the San Francisco, couple of versions in 1/350.

Thanks, Joe Rix and tankboy51.

The only 1/350 CL's I could find were resin kits. Those aren't in the budget at the moment. And I do have the 1942 USS San Francisco.

Thanks again for the information!

Bruce, it’s not as refined as some of Airfix‘s later offerings but there are some fantastic aftermarket sets that will really enhance the beauty of this rare bird!

Mopar, that TSR kit looks gorgeous. And since it never went into production, you can have lots of fun with “what if?” builds of it. Say in the markings of Tornados of the various NATO users of that aircraft.

as for my stash...

This kit had a damaged box, so it was on clearance at the LHS the other day... The contents are just fine...

Xtradecal did do a couple of What If decal sheets for the TSR.2 in both 72nd and 48th. At least one of them was for a Gulf War scheme and another for the USAF. But i think you would have to go to e-bay to find them.

Thanks for the clarification tankboy. Like I said, I wasn't rightly sure about there actually being a 1/350 scale CL. I'd sure like to see one also.

In the past i had built both vesions of Tamiyas Tiger II. The Porsche turreted kit was lost with most of my builds in 2003 and the Henschel one was in a bad state after several years of moving and storage.I had attempted to fix it last year but decided it was not worth saving. When it came to replacments i originallyh was going to go for the Dragon kits, which used to be my go to for armour. But realiseing that Dragon was falling behind and charging a fortune for the privilage i decided to check out some of the newer options. I am not big into interiours unless the diorama calls for it and all the reviews pointed to the meng kits. Noy only are they newer than Dragon at a better price but the reviews all point to them being the best basic kits out there, and i like how they offer interiours and zimm as extras so your not forking out for stuff you don't want. I picked up both versions from a buisness selling on e-bay fro 50 quid, you won't get a single Dragon kit for that.

Having looked them both over, the only extras i will be adding are some PE skirts and track gurds for each and the Meng Zimm decals for the Porsche turret option. Gone are the days when i automatucally bought every ;piece of AM for a kit before i even looked at it.

You get a nice 1:50,000 German map of the Caen sector in the Porsche kit as well.

Just arrived from my China source...

I have been inspecting it and it could be on my bench as soon as I finish the last bit of the Ki-45 Nick.

My initial assessment after looking at the manual is that this could be made to work. Everything is in the box, no AM stuff is needed. The brass chain is bright and should be black or at least a steel colour but I have already bought some blackened chain which should match the stuff in the kit from Mirror Models in Ireland!

I will not beat about the bush and say that this cost me £9.80 plus £10 registered shipping. Cheapest I can find here in the UK is £25.99 plus shipping and due mid march.

I do want to compare this to the Takom offering, of which there are several sets due from them with reference to the V2. My China supplier doesn't have the Takom one in and Pocketbond who are the importer for Takom here in the UK have the RRP set at an eye watering price of £49.99. in Germany I can get this for 42.50 € plus shipping!

My usual UK supplier does the Takom offering for £39.99 plus shipping. Might get one next week!
