Soooo, I've recently lost my backbone. A complete loss of resistance to any deals or just desireable kits. As such, here is my latest haul.

A couple of kits that I've been wanting. Got the PT Boat from Scalehobbyist and the Nashorn was an FB auction score:

Then there are these ebay scores. I've always had a desire to get the Matador Stock Car. Just thought it was kinda cool. I got a second Opel GT so I could build both the stock version and the V6 rod.

Then there is this haul from a gentleman on a FB car model buy & sell group. Apparently, after watching the movie Ford vs Ferrari, he got an itch to build as many race cars from that time frame as he could. He purchased a number of kits for top dollar. In time, he lost the desire to build them and decided to unload them plus other kits he had. He was asking what he paid and as such, was not getting much traction. So, I stepped in with some negotiating and got a sweet deal on a lot of them. In short, I certainly added to my stable of GT40'sBig Smile

It appears that I am forced to post the remainder of my pics of this lot tomorrow as Postimage has decided to go south on me. Stay tuned.

I am duly impressed with everyone's latest prizes. Such wonderful stuff.

Bruce: That Yamato turret is absolutely boss. That should be a fun build.

Gamera: I like the Caddy. Cool as can be.

Greysnake: The Opel is a unique find. Nice!

BK: Woohoo! You've certainly been doing your due diligence on loading the stash.                   Outstanding choices. As you will soon see, I also scored a Cobra. Well done.

Bish: I was not aware that AFV did 8 wheelers. I am very interested to hear how they             are. Nice pick up.

Keavdog: You done well in your own right. Wonderful additions. I really like the Midget.

Just the sight of it would make someone fly out of the pool like a penguin

That simile paints an amusing mental picture, that's for sure!

I'm starting to understand why so much stuff is out of stock everywhere, you guys are buying it all (especially BK) Smile

Oh boy does that Honda 70 bring back memories, John. I had a 50, but my buddy had the 70.

Hey no tracks/road-wheels - maybe an armor kit I could try ;)

A few gifts from my wife

A-10 GAU-8 round, certified casing was actually fired from an A-10

Really nice book from my father in law

And a remote control crocodile head/boat for the pool, because my wife knows I'm still 8 years old in my head

Thanks,

John

Gamera, Gecko Models is a pretty new company right now they are focusing on British subjects it seems.
I’ve been eying the British tankers since they popped up on eBay. By the time I decided to get them from Hong Kong Covid hit and of course brought shipping to a standstill. A US seller listed a box last week and I got them right away.

BK, those are some nice kits.

Bish, looking forward to seeing the 233 built.

Not sure when i will get to it, but i am looking forward to it.

Would be nice to see more British trops, especially from the cold war period. We have quite a few WW2 sets and are seeing a few from 2010 onwards, but in between is very sparse.

I did build a couple of wheel German armoured vehicles about 25/30 years ago, a couple of the old tamiya 4 wheeled kits. Those have long been lost and i decided it was about time i added some new wheeled armour kits to the stash, so i decided to start with this one from AFV. I like this as it reminds me of my favorite 251, the /9.

Greysnake, those look pretty cool. I've been thinking about some of those. Let us know how they are.

I have picked up a few new kits lately.

Oh those are cool Greysnake! I've never even heard of Gecko Models- really like that early war British tank crew.

Wanted to get a car model and this nice little Opel from ICM looked like fun. It’s pretty detailed and should be an easy build.

In addition found these two boxes of figures.

This is the one i got, not cheap but deffinetly worth it

Another good prospect!  I'm making a new shelving unit/paint rack/tool rack for my modelling area soon, it'll incorporate new lighting.

I've been leading us off-topic, so I'd better stop.  My apologies to the OP.

Here's where I read the reviews.

Thanks, John - the money I'm (supposedly) saving on kits may have found another outlet!

Thanks, everyone, for the good wishes and for the adviceBig Smile

I've just had a look at the figures supplied & they look pretty good.  Whether my figure-painting skills are up to the mark is another matter!  But, it looks like a gun & crew diorama is on the cards for this one.

There is the British Army GB runing until the end of the year.

Nice lamp - I could do with one of those!  I presently use a large, floor-standing magnifying glass with a few LED lights round the frame, but it has nothing like that output, and it has to be "looking over my shoulder" to illuminate what I want.  Is the light as even & well-diffused as it appears in the photo?

I bought a new LED lamp to replace my old style lamp that i had bought from BHS about 30 years ago. The new one is streets ahead. I have a second old style lamp on my bench for when i take progress pics, but i don't need to use it now. This is the one i got, not cheap but deffinetly worth it.

Its LED so yes, nicely difuse.  That was one of the big points in the reviews I read.  That and the color temp.

Here's where I read the reviews.

Congratulations.......and when is the divorce?

Thanks for the congrats, Greg, and the trip to the model shop was quite safe, as Mrs 6390 (title is now official!) is very supportive, and has even built the odd model herself!

I waited a long time, but I picked a good oneBig Smile

Thanks, Gamera, I think a base or small diorama without the carrier might be the best idea.  The gun does come with crew figures, but I haven't had a close look at them yet.  If I don't like them, it'll be the gun by itself, maybe in an abandoned/overrun scenario.

I have seen that gun with crew in the flesh and Stikpusher built it last year for the Airfix GB. It comes out nicely and in both cases it was displayed on a base with no vehicles and looked good.
