I bought a new kit last night. Well, I actually bought a few raffle tickets for the monthly raffle at IPMS last night and won this classic

Ben, you should have a great project with that Churchill and those Miniart crew figures. I'm a big fan of those Miniart crew figure sets!

WP, that's a great trio of fighter kits!

Well I haven’t bought any new kits for awhile… but I have been picking up supplies. AZ AMPS meets a few miles away from Andy’s Hobby HQ, so after meetings, the club will stop in for a bit. I picked up a few items on my last visit

Then this past weekend, we made a visit to So.Cal. for a quick family visit, and made a quick run to Brookhurst Hobbies. Man have I missed that shop with its huge selection and on hand inventory. Time was limited, so I couldn’t browse kits, but I did grab a few more supplies

Garage sale find.  2 1/32 kits and a 1/48.  All in unopened Sprue bags.  Decals look good.  Also got a Montex mask for the 1/32 Zero for $4.  All in for $120.  I think that's around the retail price just the Zero.

Man,that Zero alone is almost worth that !!!

Oh Ben, see what you have done?  Now I have to get that Miniart British tank crew set for my Churchill AVRE!  Armor is a fascinating genre.  Me and my friends call it "cross contamination".  Stick out tongue

Yeah those are cool Pat, I really like the Subaru decals.

And love those Ben! I've the Churchill AVRE (Armoured Vehicle Royal Engineers) with the morter but your version with the bridge and fascine carrier is super cool. And that set of British tankers- great set, I've used them twice on different tanks here.

Nice addition Pat, those older NASCAR kits actually had some good detail for the price and could be used for numerous other race vehicles.

I was fortunate enough to find a good deal on another armor kit and figs. This is really something for me,...building armor. See what participating in theese group builds will do to a car guy!?

Been looking and waiting for this one for a while:

Looks like a M103 to me....

As I said I don't normally do modern stuff but after watching several videos on YouTube about the Ukainian invasion I bought a few more related kits.

The T-72B3, listed as the most common Russian tank used in the invasion. Typical Meng quality plus the mine plow adds interest.

And a bunch of modern Russian figures from AliExpress. I'm wondering if they were ripped them off from someone else but I've not seen the originals. Not sure what's blurred out but they're really nice figures.

Oh you guys crack me up!  I took a shallow dive into the Googleverse, and came up with the following on the DML M103:

Turret has shape problems, turret location on hull is wrong, gun is too short, and pointiness of the hull nose is off.  There were some other smaller things like cheaping out on the differences between the A1 and A2 variants and proportion discrepancies.

Still no reliable review of the Takom kits.  You'd think the Red Line Brigade would be out in force by now.

I must confess that I haven't even opened the huge box yet.  For all I know, there could be a box tortoise inside!

Not an expert on that particular kit however the green plastic that it is molded in is the wrong color, it should be more yellow. I agree with Tcoat...kit should be trashed. I'll pay shipping.Stick out tongue

Real G

Gamera,

The DML M103 got some bad press from the experten, although I do not know enough about the actual vehicle to be able to readily see the problem areas.  I have not seen any scathing reviews of the Takom kit yet, but you never know!

I'm going to try to get Gamera assembled and ready for paint by this weekend, so stay tuned!

The glacis plate should be angled at precisely 12.2 degrees. That one is clearly 12.24 degrees and this makes the kit useless. I will throw it away for you for $5.

Those look so cool Real G! I've got the Dragon/DML M103 but knowing the quality of Takom I'd expect this one is probably much better.

And what can I say about the star there!?!?! I really want to see how you're going to paint and weather the figure.

Aggieman, that P-40 is an amazing kit.  I took this picture at a model show in March.  Crazy amount of detail.  Hope you have a lot of fun building it.

My latest addition is Great Wall Hobby's P-40B Warhawk.

The box is far larger than it really needed to be for this particular warbird, even in 1/32nd scale.  If it wasn't already the case, this addition definitely makes the P-40 the top kit in my stash/built collection.  Off the top of my head, I count 2 in 1/72nd, 3 in 1/32nd, and at least 13 in 1/48th.

I didn't expect this kit to arrive yesterday.  Got it from an eBay seller in China, and the estimated arrival date was some time in August.  Guess they need better shipping estimators over there.

Aggieman, the box art on those early Monogram boxes were great!  I remember building that 1/48 Huey at least twice as a kid.  Like you I've been "collecting" some old Aurora & Monogram kits most recently from an estate sale and  I picked up several of the old 1/32 Monogram armor kits.  Keep them coming Aggieman!

This just in.  Weird stuff, as usual.

The T-54-1 intrigues me as it, like the T-44, is a "missing link" between WW II and Cold War Soviet tanks.

The rest intrigues me equally as well.  Stick out tongue
