Wow, what a great thread. There are some truly first class models here.

Since I tend to work in larger scales and my models move I usually take video instead of still photos but here are three recent projects, starting with the StuG III

A crazy "paper panzer" with an M-41 set up as an AA tank with quad .50s

And you got to have crew (the head was painted by a friend, the rest was me)

And if it's OK to deviate just a bit, my next three projects should be very interesting, all Dragon 1/6 kits, the type 82, DAK type 82 and the schwimmwagen, all of which will be converted to full RC

I can't believe I stayed away from here for so long, I've already gained three tons of good info just in the last week or so. The bad news is that now you Gomers are stuck with me!! Bwahahahaha

keavdog. thank you . I like this kit, I bought two more. The plastic is on the soft side. The # 11 blade cuts very easy. The only issue I had was with the props they are one piece but attached to the sprue in between the blades on the hub. Once thier cut off the sprue I used a round sanding stick to get at, but its a nice kit.

Thanks y'all. Mustang1989, the issue with the Tamiya Mustang was self-induced. Badly sprayed primer to go under Alclad. That P-51D is the second one on the shelf along side a B/C Mustang. I have a second D-model underway right now.

Nearsightedjohn, I've seen those Chevy kits, your's is terrific. The first car I ever drove was my grandfather's 1948 four door sedan Chevy back around '60 or '61. I need to get one of those kits soon.

Frank: Hopefully nothing gave you too much trouble on that Tamiya Mustang as far as assembly is concerned. I've had NOTHING but good fortune out of Tamiya offerings.

Cool carrier GM - I like all the tiny Panthers.

Mach - love the tomcat and that tornado is wild.

Frank - that gundam guy startled me, nice save on the mustang and cool Redtail

I added a full hull and below waterline details, improved the guns, added landing gear to the jets and used a PE set.

I dot inspitation for that build after seeing a photo of an intruder being loaded on the cat for a morning launch, in 1980, just after the failed rescue attempt of our hostages in Iran, and loved the idea of ID stripes, similar to the invasion stripes....
