Various shades of silver, gray, rust, steel, burnt, bare metal, etc....  No two look exactly alike.

That is correct for the blade colors.  On the gap, it looks like the interior is not sitting all the way down into the fuselage.  Check where the sides of the floor meet the sids of teh fuselage, it may need to be tripped or thinned, something like that.

It is coming along nicely.  Painting and details are going well.

A couple things though.  The roof is usually covered by a fabric panel just like the rear wall.  Also, the B pillar (upright behind the pilots' seats) has solid panels covering the inner surface with some lightening holes in them.  See the below pics.

For the fabric, you could use some lead foil from the top of a wine bottle with a cross-hatch pattern scribed into it.

That stuff is a little thin.  The ones off of wine bottles are about the thickness of aluminum foil, but more pliable and softer.  Aluminum foil would probably work too.

INFOFROG, Love the build.....a soft spot in my heart for the old Huey Gunz....one thing I noticed on almost every UH-1 I worked on (from Vietnam) had patches in the floor board......beer can flattened and riveted in place, painted over with either flat black or gray spray paint (depending on the color of the interior)  the floor had a kind of diamond pattern to it......they changed it out with the Black Hawk ....easier to wash out the interior........our M-60's that were hooked on cables had small cans safety wired to the receiver to help guide ammo in and reduce jams.

Most often, Crew chiefs only used the door gun on close threats, otherwise we were to busy keeping the guns fed (especially if you had mini guns mounted)

Love your build, love your build
