Hope my Apache doesn't meet the same fate, although the last one I made was as a kid, and it was too complex a build for me, wound up in the trash then sat through an I'M NEVER GOING TO MODEL AGAIN!! phase.... yeah I know I was one of those kids, big surprise lol

that said, i built the old revell 1/32 apache years ago. i do mean years ago. it met an untimely end with my old bb gun. (ya know the one kinda shaped like an m-16 unless too early for your time cris??). shows you how good i got with a weapon as it was a good 50+ yards away when i took one shot dead on and straight into the cockpit it went. thing exploded/disintigrated like it was hit by a sam missle!! yeah, i suppose i was just bored!!

as for the blood, not sure if ya mean my insurgent or not...but it came out so-so. it was my first time and whatever. it wont damage the look of the dio so im not worried about it!!

More like woohoo!! or yeehaw... or... I don't know. I spell most English words like they sound... which usually makes them turn out wrong in the end. But when it comes to noises like booooms and kerpows I feel like it's pretty fair game

You're not a jerk camo don't worry about it. My brother (not the one that's on here with the 1/72 tank- I have another one that hates modeling and thinks it's an expensive exercise in pointlessness) is a foreign language major with a minor in creative writing and he rides me twice as hard with grammar and correct sentence structure... I'm sure you see how it pays off

I have the old 1/32 scale Apache from Revell and the 1/48 civilian Chinese Dauphin variant that Trump has masquerading around as the HH-65A. Going to be a lot of scratching going on with those two... sorry to bring it up in the Mayhem thread camo, projects way down the line though, my bench is overflowing as usual- so thats the end of that

Definitely looking forward to pics.  Between you and modelchasm, I decided to try my first 1/35th figure with vallejo...Sure is interesting...

that's ok chris. wooo...though spelled whoo (i know im a jerk), says it all! i just finished painting up 3 figures at once (the flesh). yeah, it goes against everything i have always said about figure painting...and it shows. my us guy...may have to redo that flesh paint job!!! i knew i should only paint one at a time. only problem with it is, the days are slipping by and im getting more and more behind on this!! its gonna take a couple of days for those oils to dry but in the mean time i am going to paint the clothes etc. will post soon!

got my insurgent figs today as expected! time to paint and get this thing rapped up!!! will post some updates as i said in a day or two!

not much to report on this right now. im waiting to get my insurgents from warriors  (the last of my figures) in the mail either today or perhaps tomorrow! have a couple of my u.s. guys to paint...they are already built. my inlaws have been here since friday so i havent done much. i know...cry me a river...just get it done. im closer than i think so it wont be long! will post updates in a day or so when i get back to painting!!

sssuuuuurrrreeee chris. whatever you say!! no i hear ya and i think like i said if i had been more adventurous i would've maybe painted some yellow stripes on the shirt or something...maybe even used some dry transfers with it saying nike or something. though that may happen with my live ones!!

Oh haha no, sorry- no sarcasm on that one, the green and blue are both kind of a pastel/muted color, so even though one might not normally see that together, they both match, had the green been like a neon lime color or the blue been a dark navy, it might have looked weird, but you did a good job on some dusty looking "might have been nice back when they were new" clothes. If that makes more sense haha

yeah, dont get me started with that whole "happy days" thing!!! you are also very correct with the blood thing. i had evey intention of putting some on b4 i posted the pics but in my lack of judgement in rushing to get this posted i forgot!! ooops! i figure a nice shot to the abs. will do the trick! maybe a little blood trickling down his hand...something like that!

I don't like gore on figures or dios, but consider that this guy must have died of something and being in a firefight I'd exclude a heart attack, so I'd add a least a little blood maybe just some stains on the chest.

Looks nice to me, that first picture makes him look like he's actually not dead, but standing on a nice opera house stage singing a climactic lyric haha, but no, really, you did good on the gray, the colors don't stand out in a weird way, nicely done on this one camo, haha even if it is one figure at a time

I cant work on one thing at a time until i paint. Other than my doi, i have 1 helicopter, 2 cars, 1 tank, 2 planes, and around 10 sets of figures going!

scott, thanks. at least i can say i didnt "jump the shark"! (ya know...fonzy...aaayyyyyeeeeeeee). i may just paint the other one and decide which i like best. hmmmmm. and yeah, this is what's it like when ya do one at a time...feels like you accomplish something...even if it takes over 8 months.
