You thrilled at the maze of wires! You chilled at the hosts of tiny parts! Now for some mounting tension as I build all-new engine mounts, all in part 2 of...- Terror of the UberMotor!

Chuk, you need to see a doctor, you are really sick. Is there any way I can catch this disease? And don't be funny!

Ok this is a lot to take in. Chuk you know how easily riled I get. The engine plumming is supreme and your a modeler after me own heart. Really can't wait to see what's up next but in the first frame of this episode the mysterious General LT  looks awfully AWFULLY familiar! Tongue [:P]Whistling [:-^]

If he had a penny side kick I'd almost swear I'd seen him before?  Cept if it was really him he'd have Hannah and Fritzi dressed as barvarian bar maids. Laugh [(-D]

Most excellent work that really is some diff and worth your efforts! Bow [bow]

Sturm und drang!  That's what life's all about, isn't it?  I was at the huge and amazing San Diego Comic Con last week where I have a table in venerable Artist Alley.  I meet, greet and harrange the hoi polloi for four days of frenzied festivity, seeing old friends and strange sights.  This year I managed to bring home a couple of colonies of 'em, in fact- the worst of which have evolved in a nifty case of bronchitis.  I've been home sick since Wednesday, but have finally gotten some antibiotics and should see some improvement soon.   I've been able to sit and fiddle with the Me 410, though- so much that I'm breaking this installment into two party- more to come tomorrow.  In my fevered dreams I finally saw the identity of the mysterious and sinister officer who has haunted this build- I have met the enemy- and he is me!

Hello all- and thanks! Jim got it right: I've been to the San Diego Comic Con last weekend and had lots of fun, saw old friends, talked to thousands of folks (it seems)- and brought home a dandy virus.  Bleh!   I'm on my third day home sick- feeling a bit better and getting in a little work on the engine.  I'll be at a pal's wedding on Sunday so I'll try to get an update in Saturday- so stay tuned!

Hi, Pawel- that's what I guessed, but it's nice to know for sure. Cheers!

Baron, those blue-steel blades break really easily- d'oh!  I've kept the bit to make a mini-saw from, but this was all sheer butterfingers on my part.

Thanks for another great pic, Guy!

Everyone, thanks for all the concern about Dynamite- she's back to her old self and then some.  Thinner, happier and still expecting us to spoil her more than ever!

Well, I've managed to find my folder from my old U-Boat project with it's stash of extra photoetch parts.  I've already been butchering some on to the engine.  Pics to come!

I'm assuming you were at Comic Con in San Diego this past weekend? I was in Los Angeles last week and although I didn't have a chance to take another look at your Helldiver, when I heard on KNX-1070 that Comic Con was back in San Diego, I said, "I know what Chukw is doing this weekend!"

 Chukw

A big, Thank You for your epic -it far surpasses a regular WIP, like a kite to a 747-400- they both fly, but with a difference.

Best wishes to Dynamite

As others have said, to see your work and the down to earth

explanations is inspiring and the girls cause perspiring

Again thanks, looking forward to the next installment-

Very nice detail, chuk! Enjoying this one very much, also.

Our dachshund had some work done over the weekend. Our oldest daughter is a Vet. Tech. and she was able to assist the Vet. with our Sam. He had some ear infections and three bad teeth pulled  Sam sends his regards to Dynamite and feels her pain..........so to speak..

Amazing work Chuck!  Thank you for sharing so much detail and technique.  I build and fly R/C models as well, and am always in awe of the Scale Modelers work, but to see the same level of attention given to something on a much smaller scale is mind blowing.

Hi, chuk, glad to hear your pup is on the road to recovery!  And the build looks great, too! Wink [;)]

A question for you about your razor saw-I noticed a crescent-shaped cutout on the one side.  It looks like a mod to allow using the blade as a fine scriber.  Is that a field mod, or is that blade available from the maker?

Apologies if that was something you noted back in the Helldiver build-and I have a feeling that it may have been-but I couldn't remember.

Regards,

Brad

Hey Chuck,

I like Your WIP a lot, it's very detailed. By the way, der Temperaturmesser means in german temperature sensor. Messer can mean "knife" but it can also come from "die Messung" - "the measurement". In case You wanted to know. Good luck with Your build and have a nice day

Pawel

Thanks, my friends- especially for your concern about my doggie!  The good news is that she's doing fine and getting better every day- in fact, her stitches come out Wednesday morning.  She's her happy little self and will only feel better without a constant double earache.  Cheers!

Guy, those are some really helpful pics- thanks!

So sorry to hear about Dynamite. Hopefully you have a good vet who's on top of things. Dogs are damn resillient and Bulldogs are the toughest of the tough (Damn lazy though LOL)

Great installment Chuck. I see the ladies are dressed for the occasion. Very decent of them.

I found a pic or 2 that might help you in your plumbing quest,

The last pic is a DB 605 but im sure its similar,

Thanks, guys- really.  It's been a tough couple of days but I think we're out of the woods.  It's just a matter of keeping her calm and rested- Thursday the drains- all 4- come out.  Poor creature looks like either Frankenstein dog or a furry baseball!  I took yesterday off so the wife could treat some patients and get out of the house.  Healing for all.

In the afternoon I added some detail to the floor of the nacelle- background clutter, and pored over images of the DB601.  Modeling references have proved useful- and there's some info on DB605's in the Squadron Bf110G Walkaround.  I'm  trying to figure out what all the bits on the engine are- now I know the thingie on the top rear is the magneto.  Wiring goes there!  Knowledge is power.

I managed to lose a tiny resin coupling- my carpet is- you guessed it- that cream resin color.  I'll just build a pair from scratch or old parts.  Oy!

I'll keep you updated on the doggie- thanks again, friends!
