Thanks, guys!  Duster, it's really just the luck factor.  I've bought a set or two that are perfect, and some just had some difficulties like these.  Resin parts are basically hand made, and by the nature of the extreme detail, thin moldings and brittle resin- it's just gonna happen.  The doors in question are beautiful- but paper thin.

I had a great Thanksgiving holiday with family, and drew the base sketch for this sitting at the kitchen table, chillin'.  More modeling for next time- enjoy!

Good stuff,  thanks.

now a question: because I'm not familiar with resin-yet-, is it sorta normal for defects (ie breaks/missing corners) to be found? or just "the luck of the draw" with a peticular package?

With all the shimming you've had to do lately, let's have some "Music to fill seams by."

Okay, everybody sing:

Oh well, as my mother always says, "This too shall pass."

Chukw; Another brilliant installment;  the finishing techniques, the great repair strategy, the clever use of "found" paint containers**.

All and all a great help to my understanding of what really good model building looks like.  Many thanks

** now of course I have go out and get prescription contacts so's kin get those cool disposable contact containers- but what the heck, its all about following in the footsteps of the master Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Thanks, Guy.  The well fix was so simple- yet it eluded me for sooo long!  The wheel well doors did cycle on landing to avois rocks and such being clanged up into the works- but if you can show all that juicy interior detail, don't you think I will?  ;D  Let's just say it's under a pre-flight inspection- I'm sure that happened on a regular basis.  Thanks for another greta pic, to!

Cheers!

Wow, Chuckeroo. The wethering is looking fantastic. I love the splash effect of the drips and drops. Nice save also on the flawed resin piece. You are a true artist.

One thing though. I looked into getting the wheel wells for my one a while back, but from what i could deduce the gear doors were shut on the ground? You could say the hydraulics failed.

I was a bit tight on time this weekend- I'd sent the girls home on leave.  Pfennig steps up to the plate to bring you this update as only he can- enjoy!

Another great post....yes, those pesky everyday jobs around the house. They kinda keep us away from the important things. Know how it goes..

If it had not been for babysitting the grandkids, grocery shopping with the wife, etc.....I could have gotten more done at the workbench....welllllll somethings take priority ya know.

Take care and will be looking for the next post..

Fixed that doublke image, Subby- thanks!   That stupid part took waaay too long to fix. Black Eye [B)] I was hoping to get the tailplanes- and wings- glued on as well.  Between that and a failed tail light on the wife's wagon, well.... Banged Head [banghead]Wink [;)]

I sometimes wish that you would publish a how-to video for some of your steps. The double post of the True sander from Northwest could probably do with a deletion of one of the posts.

Great job chuk, thank you for posting it.

Thanks, my friends- glad you're hanging on for this interminable build!  ;D

So much going on- so little modeling time!  Why are automobile tail lights so hard to change, and styrene so easy to over-sand?   In one case, the hands are too big- and in the other, WAY too big!  Ditch-digging would make a greta hobby, don't you think?  ;)

Gee, Pfennig's getting pretty testy, isn't he? Maybe some hasenpfeffer and sauerkraut will put him in a better mood.Dinner [dinner]Big Smile [:D]

I've been at a point lately on my model where I'm having to do a lot of shimming, so I know how that goes.

Great work on a difficult piece, Chuk. Approve [^]

By the way, I'm with you on the PE seatbelts - I far prefer the unpainted ones. So much easier to deal with.

Cleaned up?  No, I'll have to junk the whole thing and start over.   ;)  I've been meaning to just replace it- man, that one resin bit will be the death of me!

Thanks-
