Excellent WIP's! The 'loose cannons' is a good idea that I will use in the future.

The small arrows & marks are reminders to correct seam flaws or to add parts? Either way I am getting to the point where 'reminders' marked on the plastic is necessary during construction.

Very detailed ... now this does fly... right?

Sfire -Thank you for your continued interest/comments. The marks are as you surmised,there are a lot of minor probs with this kit , best to mark them off so as not to forget to address them.I have a serious collection of over 400 pix and a good record of the corrections/additions for this kit.

What were you guys doin' diggin ' around on the second page? This forum moves very fast ,like armor,tough to keep this on page one.....

One way to keep it on page one is to post progress photos,here are the exhaust inserted into the fuse end and aligned ,glued.

And some landing gear details,the spring actuator and attachment of the retractor leg. The kit instructions, and models I have seen, show these in upside down, something to watch for. I believe these are the right way with the microswitch in front.

Adding on here the' mount to nowhere' is now mounted to the front of the gear bay . And the structure added to stiffen the wingspar/gearbay.

Worked all morning to correct the Eduard seat belt kit. The shoulder belts looked a little long , so I whipped out my handy 1/24 scale ruler , the shoulder belts scaled at 6' long! After a lotta cursing and paint flaking off ,the belts are useable. Not good Eduardo.....

Last for today is the top panel glued in place ,fit is great , I'll let this dry and cut in the new panel line.

Sanding stick in play , black marker to watch the fuse...

Sanding sticks to finish , I was lucky ,rivit detail preserved.

And with dymo tape in place,I did scribe the lines ,however the bottom panel split so I re-glued that.There is also a lot of reshaping needed in the front of the fuse, it already looks a lot better with the straight hinge lines.

For today the guns adjusted to the correct position , and the cover in place, up next the wing fuse mating.

...over zealous sanding resulted in a gap on the bottom ,I filled it with cyano and will address it later...

Today ,tryna get the rear wings on and redoing the armor plate behind the seat. The Verlinden supplied p/e is not far enough back to fill the space to the hatch cover. .o1o" brass ,detailed with an MDC rivit tool.

Really beautiful work so far.  What a shame to cover up all of that magnificent engine detail.  I'm glad you intend to cut out the engine covers to show that beautiful engine.

The original idea for the model was a diorama for Black 12 ,a plane surrendered as shown in this pic:

Bein' a tad naive regarding figs at the time , I thought I would have no problem finding some  to replicate the pic, I found this one :

But was unable to find any suitable fig for the GI ,I thought I was hooped , I tried the 1/24 Tamiya pit crews ,no joy except for a hat to use on the German pilot ,that can be seen in the pix as a blue item.

I saw a fig kit I never knew existed ,I only saw it once and bid on it on ebay and got it!

Now I can replicate the moment of surrender ,as I had originally planned ,here is the sit rep today:

As you will see the main parts of the figs are assembled and they are in primer, this is a really good thing for me.

Love the build Krow and  the theme of the diorama makes it even more interesting.

Rned -Thanks for the comp. I am working through the tedious details with regard to ommissions and or additions and or corrections!

Looking at the wings and reading reviews I see that the manufacturer used an incorrect drawing of the aircraft plan view, the original artist drew the panel lines in curves, Trump made their panel lines curved as well, prolly one a simple phone call, during kit design, would have helped!

Here is the top with the three curved lines :

And the bottom with two curved lines and a curved panel which I will leave:

This will be as well as : Adding the flap actuator to the flap , gun panel cover completion , proper landing gear indicators , replacing the small panel at the back of the wing root to straddle the panel line , all needed to bring the wing into line with the numerous reference drawings I am using.

So everything is filled in and new panel additions made from .015" plastic sheet .

The entire model has been re-scribed ,a 6 hour job. I also detailed the gun panels a little more ,and some fig work.

I had no idea either that there was a 1/24 GI. Learn something new everyday.

Jmodeler -Thanks - I reckon yer lookin' at the only one! The only GI I could find in 1/24.

Grinding away at the fuse/wing details ,I added screws ,bolts ,washers , .010" brass rod 'hinges' ,Archer weld beads , and re-scribed a lotta lines and re-rivited a lotta rivits. This has taken a lot of time but has added a lot of details. I am lookin' at paint fairly soon , black/brown pre-shading to start.
