That's a great story Mike. I'd say that should be your Imagination GB subject. My grandfather was in the MP's in Europe about the same time. I should see what unit he was in. I'll ask the aunts and uncles when I see them.

I have many books and my Lair smells of rich mahogany!!! Stay thirsty my fellow MOJOs!

That, or they ran out of money!

Who's the guy, Mike?

That's my father in early 1942.  He was a Master Sargent in 1941 with 18 years service.  With the expansion of the U.S. Army in response to the Axis threat, he was commissioned a 1st Lieutenant (he skipped 2nd Lieutenant because of his time in service).  He went from an infantry MOS with the 2nd Infantry Division to the Military Police Corps.  Was in North Africa, Sicily and at Salerno and Anzio.  Was wounded and sent back to the States to run a POW camp in Michigan.  In 1945, he commanded an MP Company in the American Sector of West Berlin.  He reitred in 1953 and died in 1989.  I come to appreciate him and his efforts as I become older.

I wanted to change avatars and his picture was in my pictures file.

Apparently, just the threat of Kampfgruppe MOJO was enough to force the Canadian Postal Service to release the HO. Big SmileWow

I wouldn't mess with them!

 Manstein's revenge:

I have grown tired of waiting...I am sending a kampgruppe in to retrieve the HO by force...it is currently mobilizing...using striking postal workers to entrain armour...

 http://youtu.be/lbXabOLVELI

Herr Feldmarshall:  Good to see that you have artillery support.  However, wasn't anything other than French artillery available?  A battery of U.S. M-109's would, IMAO, be much more preferable. Huh?

That was one of those "I measured in metric / you measured in Imperial" moments wasn't it!?!?

The Navigator

New reason why Vance hasn't finished his HO-

Spent too much time convincing FSM staff to change their KV-1 to Canadian Vampire!

...just caught that one Navigator! Yes Yes, you see I actually have a 1/48 Vampire in the stash (Hobbycraft) that I have on the "soon" list... but as everyone has noticed I sometimes require inspiration (or jackboots) to finish a project, so FSM has graciously placed a Vampire up there as motivation.

Evidence mein herren:

As you can see, it does not yet have it's "mission markers" in place yet. These will need to be applied prior to Operation Navigate South commences...

The Navigator

It maybe time for gadget limericks!

..ask and you shall receive.

A macho young Vance was playing with fire,

when he shipped the gadget, the single wing flyer.

The gadget is still missing you know

Herr Marshal will have Vance's fiddley-bits for ho-napping his HO,

Soon, Vance's voice will be two octaves higher.
