Traveller: Thanks and hope things turn out well. Male pattern baldness runs in my family but at least we're generally pretty healthy. Stick out tongue

Herr Field Marshal: Thanks! And go easy on Vance. I think he said he was not only building his out of wood but cutting down a tree as well. Wink

Yes, yes I am. Actually I planted a tree specifically for this project, gotta let it grow some more. Hey, is Traveller complaining that it's too hot to model today?? With the windchill it -24 celsius up here right now buddy!!!

OK, work on the engine pods from this weekend. Uhhh, I rolled my own... (note the big splotch where there are no gridlines - that's where the Tamiya cement landed last week. Still stinks!)

both rolled up nice & tight. Still not super-smooth, but there will be putty & sandpaper involved anyway. Second layer added to help with the bulge...

Now I'm layering on the putty. Once I let it dry & add more, etc, get closer to a final shape I can sand & add the inlet/outlet cones.

Gamera, great job!!! Mine is stalled at the moment due to the usual family/work commitments, and also its 30+degC here and high humidity!!! I am so jealous of that snack, I have to see some professor on Wednesday for a stress test and echocardiogram. This is for my job, so I dont have to pay for it!!! The NSW state government are coughing up the cashStick out tongue Anyway, I will hopefully start on it this weekend, if its cooler!!!!

Nicely done! Let me know how the carrier trials go so we can get these on the Zuiho asap...

Glad to see someone is working for the war effort in here...Vance is really starting to arouse some suspicion at the Reich Ministry...

Thanks guys, other than a somewhat  off fit to the canopy the Revell kit falls together. It was fun to build something that I could improvise on.

Vance: Not a irradiated lizard- an irradiated TURTLE!!! Wink

Gamera, congrats on completion of the Japanese version. Great job on the final finish. Yes

Chocolate ho-ho?? I'd be more worried that your security detachment (obviously attached to the Luftwaffe engineers that delivered this sample) won't be able to fend off the pocket-sized irradiated lizard that is now threatening your workbench!

And Shhhhhhhhhhh!!! You're right, it's not a Ho-Ho but just a Hostess Cupcake. I searched though two supermarkets and several convenience stores and everyone around here now stocks Little Debbie products instead of Hostess. Took me the longest time just to find the Hostess Cupcakes. They don't even carry the friggin' Ho-Hos!

Cant even find the Ho-Ho's here either unless I go to the Hostess outlet store, none of the markets carry them. But they do carry the cupcakes and Hostess pies can find Twinkies too. And ya know they dont make the chocolate or lemon pies anymore ?????????? Crying

Those lightening bolt 9's really make your build sizzle, a great call. Toast

Manstein's revenge

You guys need to get to crackin' cause reports from my agents---I mean cats, have provoked me into designing another award for you malingering MOJO's...

I'm calling it the "Pansy Badge".  It is for those spinelss MOJO's who keep putting off their builds and hurting the war effort...The citation will read:

"For those MOJO's who have displayed kit building motivation below and underneath the calling of their modeling manhood."

You needn't already be a recipiant of either the "229 Cross" of the "HCRwRSD" in order to receive one.  Vance is designing it right now, which is appropriate since he may be the first to sport it...

But Field Marshal I am tryin to clear my bench, just haffta finish this Tomcat. Oh my,,,,,,,,,,,, did I say Cat ???? Tongue Tied  I mean F-14A

The agents, they are everywhere!

How long before Manny sees what we're up to today & cracks the whip? I'll be back on-project tonight, just picked up the dowel I need to reinforce the engine tubes.

Plastruct - yep, I know about them. The day after my LHS announced he was closing, some Censored mojo railroader came in & bought up the entire rack of Plastruct. (And I mean it, the dude took the rack & everything). So I'm hoping to avoid having to pay more in shipping for the tube than I would have for a kit in the first place!

Gave the sheet rolling another look last night with the next thickest sheet I have, no help, may have been bumpier. So I'll grab some wooden dowel rod tonight on the way home and beat that Ho if I need to. (That doesn't sound right at all, but it seems to fit!)

vetteman : "The Field Marshal wouldn't go to the trouble of spyin on us would he ???" Seriously?? You have to ask??? How do you think he made it out of the Eastern Front, the Siberian Kitties had his back even then...

 Manstein's revenge:

Notice how the agent---I mean cat, looks so skeptical about the progress Vance is making?

That's not skepticism, that's the slow nod, soaking in all of the information, a look of calm understanding.

Guys ya know there just might be sumpthin to this spy cat thing Hmm A cat showed up here in the mancave about the time this group got underway and he has taken to glaring at me while sitting on the Dragon 229 box that is on top of the display case as I work in a Tomcat. Didn't think much of it but now I am a bit nervous going to the cave. The Field Marshal wouldn't go to the trouble of spyin on us would he ??? I mean does he have hench  kitties ??

Vance -- re your engines for the scratchbuild (the last actual piece of building to be screened here on the Comedy Channel Propeller!), I have one word for you -- Plastruct!

http://www.plastruct.com

Do you know these guys? Engineering Model Asscoiates (EMA) started back in the late 60s IIRC to provide components for architectural models of oil installations, and it developed into a vast range, literally thousands of products, sheet, extruded profile, hemispheres, elipses, caps, reducers, and of course tubing, in a size range from about 1/32nd" up to 12"... I have a draw full of EMA materials for scratchbuild projects and they are always my first resource when starting something new. They won't have the exact shape you're looking for but they'll get you close!

Now, back to Rambo V: Attack of the NInja Squirrels... Smile

M/TB379 (I know, I know, I haven't posted any work yet either... Six completions planned for February, and the Ho might be in March!)
