Well I like r/m kits they don't take too much out of the pocket, and you have a good starting point for a good build. Oh the USS Constitution... the only sailing ship that I ever built, back in 1976.

Hey Stikpusher, the USS Constitution is a fun build. It took me about 600 hours to complete, and I only had the use of my right arm. I had rotator cuff surgery on my left arm 3 or 4 days before I started it. Where there's a will !!!   Do have any pics of yours? Would love to see them.                  Charley

Thanks Charley, I appreciate your thanks. I was just fortunate enough to be able to do those things you dreamed of and played at as a young boy when I got old enough. Thats how I like to see it. I dont think that I ever took photos of that build. I was only a kid back then and very few of my models were ever photographed. But it did sit on my dresser for many years as I grew up. It did not survive when my mom put all my stuff in storage when during my first enlistment. I never get those sails attached. Maybe one day I will pick up a new one and do a nostalgia build.

@Mustang1, love the Tigermeet F-15E, Mountain Home AFB, home of the Bold Tigers is just down the road aways.  Love watching them fly over the area.  I have built several RevOgrams over the last 25 years or so.  Mostly because they were affordable and easy to find, especially to a young kid at the time wanting to build models.

I have been out of the model making routine for some time; however, last night as a matter of fact I unpacked a few and started working on them again...all of which are RevOgrams, the F/A-18E, F-14D and the A-10A.  I have a few hanging from my garage that are old school RevOgrams, the B-17G and the old AV-8A Harrier II.  I may have to get some pics of those and add to the thread.  They are similar to some of the others in here with the natural "weathering" = old age + dust accumulation.

Great work by all the builders, I wish I was half as good at the detailing as most of you all.  I am getting some good ideas though.

15E. It was a fun build, good detail out of the box. You know you really can't go wrong with revOgrams. So how cool was it to see those Eagles flying around? I would love that! If you have pics post them we love pics.                            Charley

Everyone's builds are fantastic, I've only finished a couple Revell's...the 1/48 F-106

This was actually the second one I built, The first one was a lot better and I had the decals all on it, painted, looked good, but I had used a sharpie to preshade and when I put the flat coat on it bled through.

Keeping with the original 1 kit/post ....just finished the 1/48 PV-1...

I have several other Revell builds in the works but have either hit some sort of snag, or need to paint them. This thread really is an inspiration though.

Very nice 106 Josiah! And that Ventura... sweet! We will be here patiently waiting for your next Revellogram build. Whenever that is.

Here are a couple more Revell/ Monogram builds

Revell of Germany 1/32 Arado which was featured in a FSM article a few issues back

Old Revell 1/28 Tri Fokker that I found at a garage sale for a  few pennies. Scratch built cockpit and engine details.  Tom's Model Works brass pe set was used on the twin MG's. Decals were in the box and were from an old IPMS special issue going back to the 1970's.

Old Revell P-26 found at a model show, factory sealed for only a buck or two. I added a resin cockpit and pe details with custom decals.

Revell 1/48 F-14A

PJ, you have some real classics there. the Dr.1 and P-26 go back decades! The Tomcat is a bit more recent... and the Arado- WOW! Rvell Germany is second to none in terms of quality and value there. Thank you for sharing your excellent work here!

Thanks stick! I had more like the 1/48  F100, F106,F105G, the 1/32 Corsair and Stuka , both the razor back and bubble top P-47's too but I sold them a while back.  You are right, Revell of Germany is kicking nalgas as they offer fantastic detail and great quality at an affordable price. I just picked up their huge 1/72 Type IX U Boat and it's another home run!

They are putting out top notch stuff that would cost twice as much  coming from any of the boys in Asia.

I didn't know Revell or Monogram had a 1:32 scale Mig-15

They don't. Only Trumpeter makes a 1/32 Mig -17

No more than $5 I would say. I have it.

I forgot about my F105 G that I cut down to a D many years ago when Monogram did not make the single seater. I used MMP powders to shade the raised panel lines. I also painted the honey bee on the side and used decals from my spares to model Honey Babe of the 469th TFS, 388th Wing flown by Major George Avila out of Korat during Operation Rolling Thunder.  Hasegawa MER and 750 pounders on the centerline and Hasegawa jamming pods outboard.

Dayum, that 105 looks great my friend!  You did a fantastic job with those panel lines and the paint is perfect to my eye, wouldn't ol' Hans love to see that?   That is really a fine looking bird Ernie.

Outstanding job on the Thud, plasticjunkie! The finish looks very realistic. I remember that Grissom ARB (up in Peru, IN) had one on display outside (it's probably still there), and the finish on your build looks just like the one at Grissom.

PJ that is a beauty indeed! Didnt have the patience to wait for them to come out with the D? ;-) I got the G as a Christmas present in 82, but did not build it for another 7 years or so. I got their D when it came out and still have it sitting unbuilt in my stash.... go figure...
