Sweet job on the pit! I like those true details pits. Simple, cheap, yet lots of detail.
Hello everyone. Fine looking builds here so far. Well, I finished my P-38 and have officially started on the Hasegawa 1/48 BF 109 G-14 for this group build. I procured a True Details cockpit that's for a G-6 but I decided to use it on the G-14 figuring the differences would be small, if any. I did read on another thread here that all G cockpits were all similar. Truth be told, i'm not really one to worry about such things, besides its light years ahead of the Hasegawa pit in detail. I did use the the kit instrument panel since I felt it was better than the TD one. I have Eagle Cals G-14 sheet and its a toss up between Ewald's "White 7" or the "Yellow 4". I'll probably decide when its time to paint. I finished the cockpit last night. Here's what I got so far:

fermis VanceCrozier: Nice job on both - but Wick's machine looks great - stippled with a paint brush? I used a piece of foam, supplimented with a brush in tough to get areas (like behind tailplane struts)

Trey. Excellent! Very well done!!
Geof No pics... didn't happen. And you've got to come up with some sort of creative use for a soda can on at least ONE of those 109's...

In the Hangar: Hmmm???
What - no folded wings???
Tucohoward The kit overall is very nice. Could do without the fiddly PE hinges for the control surfaces. I had to shim the rear of the cowl with strip and sand the bottom towards the rear. I cut the the rear latches off the fuselage and glued them to the cowl so they could be sanded evenly. In the picture you can also some shims around the air intake. I have another of these kits and will delnitely build it with the cowling off.

...hmmmmmmmm...now I have to decide to go cowling on or off...
The Mighty Mo says no.
Tucohoward If anyone else is building the 1/32 Cyberhobby E-4 I would be interested to know how the cowl fit is. I had always planned to build it closed up and had quite a time getting it to fit.

You guys are really doing some excellent work! I haven't updated my build in a while. Almost ready to paint. If anyone else is building the 1/32 Cyberhobby E-4 I would be interested to know how the cowl fit is. I had always planned to build it closed up and had quite a time getting it to fit. Besides dealing with some fit issues I also got sidetracked onto another model. Even though I've been an auto mechanic for 30+ years I have never built a car model, but when I saw the '68 Hemi Dart I couldn't resist. It strikes me that car models are a lot harder to make look realistic than planes.
