Have begun working on the Diver again and was @#%! having to drill out the dive flaps (managed to break two drill bits so far Angry) when.... I open the FSM "How to Paint and Weather Scale Models #2" and there is an article by John Adelmann on the PM SB2C-4 HD and SHAZAM! he didn't drill those out, looks fine, so enough, back to work.

Wow, so am I the only one still working on this ugly duck? Huh?

Hope to have pics of the interior tonight before she's sealed up.  This AM/ProMod kit is nicely detailed but the interior fit has been a little tight and somewhat confusing from the directions.

This is the first time I've had the "pleasure" of working with PE.  Thought i'd give the tape harness belts with PE buckels and hardware a try, talk about jeweler work! Bet I spent the better part of half an hour trying to thead and glue the belt into place, what a PIA.

I wonder if all this group build action is causing the parts to be out of stock.. Iearned that some times you have to order the parts when you dont need it. Because when you do they are all gone.

Well I'll tell you about the latest "flap" on this deal.  So I decided the canopy looked like an Eduard paint mask was called for, so since SpruBro was sold out, thought I'd give Squadron a try.  Ordered it, waited no mask, finally called and "Oh, that's on back order".  It would be nice if they (Squadron) would do like Spru and have "real time" inventory control, anywho, that's my rant for the day...... so far.

fermis

For the flaps, there is an inner and outer flap. So the portion painted red (in above pic) is the inner set of flaps.

Ahh.... that clears things up.  I never heard of an "inner" flap, is that unusual, the SBD doesn't have that?
