 Manstein's revenge:

What's going on in here???

No Ebay kit yet..

I wonder if you are also having issues with the USPS too.. I ordered a set of resin wheels and according to tracking the were delivered... Actually not so Im fighting a losing battle with the USPS about it... Really pissed about it to..

Well I have to do some touch up on the diver, the camo line is not right on the fuselage by the rear gunner and one side by the cockpit. User error. Once I throw on some gloss clear it should go by alot quicker herr field marshall

.

***06.13.12 Fixed incorrect paint lines. Im back on hold again waiting for paint to cure before I lay down some gloss, until then I will be watching the other Helldivers to be built.

Sorry Vance, I will be sure to return the napkins at the next picnic- I took off the masking too make sure the paint went on correctly on the clear parts. All done with new air brush.. Golf tees work well to keep the model up before I put the gear on. Hardwood kitchen table replicates carrier deck quite well!

Hans it took about a week to a week and a half when I got my models from that guy. He sells the Helldiver kit and Avenger kits in bulk alot. Drop him a message and see whats up. There is no PE or decals with the kit but at $10 still a good deal to me anyway. Hope you get your kit soon Hans!

So THAT'S where my napkins went...

Cockpit not masked off?? I assume you just opened it up for the pics and closing it up again, or are you hand-brushing???

Nice...but they didn't do a good job moulding the landing gear struts; looks like blobs of plastic.  Also, how did you replicate the wooden flight deck of the carrier?

Dunno if its a kit problem or just my particular kit but with bomb bay door closed there was a gap far to big for the scale so made two pieces of flate PE to bring the gap to an acceptable seam.. Waiting on the filler to cure so I can sand down the filler to a smooth surface. My issue is just a waiting game. Should be ready to sand after work today. Was hoping to lay down some paint tonight.

I love your wing folds and want to.. err, OK, I got nothin'

A question though. I was checking around a couple of years back getting ready for a Corsair, and it looked to me like the undersurfaces of folded wings got the topside blue as well, only the fuselage underside & center wing panel kept the white. Was that a Corsair-only setup??? Inquiring minds want to know. Geeked

I know, the pics are decieving. The lower/outer wing portion is actually "intermediate blue". With the lighting, and my cameraphone, I couldn't really get it to show up looking like anything but dirty white.

Here's a shot at the bench.

Awesome work Fermis!! Cant wait to get more bench time with my diver. Picked up another airbrush dual action and tested it on a scrap model... Really excited to get mine to exterior paint phase.. Now I want to maintain the excellent finish done by the airbrush, is there a good gloss coat to run through the airbrush that is enamel or should I stick with the spray can version of it??

I know alot of people use future but I really dont want to run anything water based / acrylic through my brush...

This will also be my first pre-shade but I will also do panel wash as well.. Time to step it up!!
