Medicman71 Ok fine. I'm in but it'll be a while. I gotta finish what I have on the bench. I'll be doing a 1/48 Revell A-6E Intruder. Gonna get some aftermarket stuff and decals.

No problem - I've got a quick jump, but I've really only assembled the "shoulders" on mine. I'll keep the box close to the bench & try to give it some attention while waiting for the paint to dry on the other kits I'm juggling right now.
On the bench: Airfix 1/72 Wildcat; Airfix 1/72 Vampire T11; Airfix 1/72 Fouga Magister

DiscoStuHey I'd love to join an Intruder group build if there is room for one more. I broke sprue on the Kinetic 1/48 offering for the Nose Art GB a few months ago before losing my bench to home repairs. Looking to get back in the chair in the coming weeks.
Welcome aboard Stu, we'll have to see if Mann-agement is posting up a roster on the first page...
Speed brakes on wingtips?!??!
THERE! I thought there had been an anniversary scheme...

Got these for my Intruder...SWEET...
Always loved the intruder. Dad drew me one to put on my wall when i was about 7 or 8.
Ive got 2 tamiya (italeri) kits at home that need some attention. Wonder if i can find decals for that green camo one. Also wanna do a desert storm camo version.

Hey Scorpiomikey. You wanted to do the green camo Intruder? Here ya go.

The kits i have are 72nd. So next question. Easier to get 48 scale kit, or 72nd decals?

Unfortunatly I think it's easier to find 1/48 scale decals and kits. There are two good Intruder kits. One is the Kinetic which has recessed panel lines but not very accurate. The other is the Revell which from everything i've read is much more accurate for an "E" model but has raised panel lines. It's easier to get decals for this kit as well.
Ive heard Hobby Boss is releasing one shortly too.
OOOH you must do the camo version of BUNO 161667 thats VA-36 "Heartless" 533 i was there when we painted that with water color paint! the A-6 is dear to my heart as i worked on them for 13 years was there for Desert Storm aboard the USS Roosevelt, i may have to jump in on this GB I have a few kits in the stash cant wait for trumpeter to launch there 1-32 scale next year, I'm sure I can answer most questions about this bird if any arise.
Scott
Thats awesome to hear Scott. Do you remember how long she was painted like that?
I LOVE THIS SCHEME AND WANT TO MARRY IT...

ScottVA36 - a local expert! Very cool, thanks for dropping in. Scorpiomikey - I'd love to see you hit that green camo version.Manny - that is a slick & colourful option. Date it, marry it, build it!!!!
A-6 had an inspection called 7-14 day (wash and grease) seeing as the paint comes off with water we didnt wash her for 20 days she flew 30 sorties in this scheme(60) total over Suddam's head by that time most of the paint had worn off anyway she still looked good VA-65's bird looked like a Bas@#$ Child hehe.
Looking forward to this GB I have a velindin update package laying around for the revell time to put it to use
