A-6 had an inspection called 7-14 day (wash and grease) seeing as the paint comes off with water we didnt wash her for 20 days she flew 30 sorties in this scheme(60) total over Suddam's head by that time most of the paint had worn off anyway she still looked good VA-65's bird looked like a Bas@#$ Child hehe.

Looking forward to this GB I have a velindin update package laying around for the revell time to put it to use

Scott

So VA-65's a/c would have had the "standard" camo showing through the ratty almost-worn-off green pattern? Now that would be a different look!

no no no - it was back another page or two - there were a couple of greenies. Although, a GREEN aircraft, flying ops over the desert, based on an aircraft carrier at sea... wait, who authorized this re-paint??? Hmm

I may be asking so early that I forget when it comes time to do it... Embarrassed

The "slime lights"... on my kit there are decals provided that are definitely yellow, possibly "non-slip gelb" Wink  Any tricks to painting these on?

If you want a cool effect to your slime lights Vance use glow in the dark paint. Turn off the paint and you can see it in the dark. Someone in the aircraft section uses glow in the dark paint I just don't remember who. I think Eduard sometimes makes PE slime lights with some of their PE sets you can install them then paint the panels.

Glow in the dark paint! I think I may need some! I'll have to check out the locations on the kit parts, see what makes the most sense.

If anyone is dying to do the camo scheme either desert or green, I have the Fightertown decals in 1/48 that has those markings. I was only going to use the "Puff the Magic Dragon" nose art version on the sheet, I can part with the rest.

Ive heard Hobby Boss is releasing one shortly too.

It may be a repop of the Kinetic one though. I'll have to look into that. Course it's gonna cost a lot coming from Hobby Boss.

I think I can help there. I seem to recall a set of 1/72 A-6 decals in my stash. Can't rememeber what scheme they were to off the top of my head. I'll check when I get home and let you know what I have. Hold please your call is very important to me........

Really? Everything ive got refers to VA-65 for the 2 tone green.

For a short time in 1966, A-6s aboard CVA-64 USS Constellation had two-tone green camouflage to test for effectiveness in sorties over Vietnam.
