Well done on the fishbed Dre Toast

here me too

few updates on the 34.. i returned slow Dead

Added some roughness to the walls with cigarettes box inner paper

Used one of xtracolor dedicate lanker colors for the cockpit ; the x603 blue gray, the picture have an unreal green tone , dunno why .. in reality no green tone is visible ,just a ligh blue grey

imperfection on the canopy will be removed before to close all Embarrassed

On the mig-31 i worked to add inner frames to the canopies, now left just to add curtains on the rear one, but after the paint

At the next

It's a large bird, but actually quite a bit smaller than the Flanker- this wide-angle perspective makes it seem that they are comparable in size.

And now that the MiG is finished, I can now return to those other BIG Russian projects on the shelf-

1/32 Su-27Flanker B and 1/32 Su-25UB Frogfoot (Manny, that's the Flanker that given me nose-cone fits; I added a 1/8" shim between the fuselage and the cone and a boat-load of putty..  several days drying and then I can start filing away stuff.)

Stay Soviet my Friends!

Dre

Landing gear, rocket pods and drop tank are on, so I'm calling this Afghani AF (circa 1980) MiG-21MF Fishbed J finished.  I'll put the long nose probe on Saturday when I leave it on a local contest table for ridicule.

That green still isn't as vibrant as it photographs... it is much nicer in person.

Although I'm still on the fence with that light green I must say that this MUG came out very nicely...claim your badge and wear it with pride...

Thanks, Vance.   It's not so bad for a quick build (under 3 months to complete).

Lol the Kermit the Frog reference as I was pondering a fleet of my miniFlankers done as a aerobatic display team, each one in a different primary/secondary color..  ring around the color wheel!

Here we are I can post now! Well having seen the actual MIG29UB that Revell used for their kit it is obvious that it would be a missed opportunity not to do the scheme from the box. This means I have spent the last two days cutting the leading edge flaps in two as they are at various angles in the pictures and I have also cut the flaps on tails free as well. It does not sound like much but it is an awkward task due to the hinge mechanism which I will have to part scratch build when I re-attach them at the desired angle. Also this resulted in more filler ahhhhhh! I always make life harder than it has to be but as in life the right thing to do is usually the hardest thing to do! It should be worth it though as the differences between a Trumpeter kit that would cost me three times as much as this Revell kit really on a finished kit don't appear to amount to much more than separate flaps, engines (revell provide them in this though) cockpit detail and metal inserts for the landing gear and vinyl tyres, which everyone seems to hate but i prefer them. Going to get scale aircraft conversions metal landing gear for the mig for strength and I did everything else myself so I guess it is what you make of it.

I found a picture of the option that you get OOB I was initially going to ignore this until I saw just how badly weathered the paint is so this is what I will do the kit with OOB as it certainley looks like it can be an interesting scheme, not the paint but the damage that,s been done, I will be trying to highlight panel lines until Christmas for gods sake!
