Yes I will be getting my sisters camera after the gym tonight so later in the week I will be able to show decent quality pictures as those were from my mobile phone. The paint will take some time I predict as there is a LOT of damage to the real Mig so I want to replicate this as best I can. The detail in your Mig 31 is outstanding bsyamato, great work!

Looks good Bsyamato.

Dean, what colors are you using on the wheel wells and cockpit space on that MiG?

Wait, what?   Is this GB being extended until April 1?   If so, that is fortuitous as I just started a MiG-29 last night...

Cliff,

If it's not to much trouble about the paint codes that would be great.  Thanks

Your right, but this kit is so old I'm sure it was the original boxing.  I think its the one box that I can remember I didn't save.  I like saving the front covers/box art.

Thanks Dean,

Now April 1st I might be able to meet. In any case I should be able to get photos of the Foxbat as she stands now half finished posted by this weekend. And I'll try to get them updated as I go along even if I miss the end date.

I've already promised a Viggen to Vance's Sweden GB and have a few other things I need to finish first. Still the Foxbat is just grey and grey so hopefully she won't be too hard to paint.

This should be my only entry, most of the Soviet/Russian aircraft I have are Second World War vintage plus a helicoptor rather than Cold War machines.

Falconmod: I believe the Foxbat came out in the mid-late '80s from Revell back when they and Monogram were separate companies. I think I have the paint colours I was going to use written down back at home, if you want I'll see if I can hunt them up.

Revell made it but the two companies merged I think so Revell and Monogram are I think one i the same.

Remember a lot of soviet aircraft were left to the elements so colours can vary considerably.

This colour personally I go by photographs of the real aircraft, as instructions can be misleading.

I'm good with the new date.

The MiG-29 is almost done, that means i could pull out the Mig-25 I started 25 years ago and repaint it and actually attach the missiles.   On that note what color should I use for the over all on a MiG-25A  its the 1/48 one that was put out by Revell? or was it Monogram.

I'll get pictures posted as soon as I can find it in the shop.

I would like to see your Foxbat there it is the only one so far that is a Foxbat I believe so please post and I have also suggested to everyone that we extend the GB as it was off the RADAR for so long so you should be able to finish your MIG.

Okay how about a vote in order to get more people involved in this GB should I extend the original end date to say April 1st?

btw, great work on the pre-shading. I almost always end up with multi-colour camo, so I really haven't bothered trying the pre-shade technique.

Well, I'm an hour closer to you than most of the others in here (Canadian east coast), and I'll be dropping in and posting as I can.

Yes this is fine a great addition to the GB, will you be making any new ones?

Yes that's fine just make as much as you can as we should keep this GB afloat try and get some pic's online so we can see what stage you are at and where you are going with this build. I know Dre has some big Flankers on the bench and a Frogfoot so that's some and there is my Mig 29 and Bsymato's Fullback and Mig 31 so there are kits being made we just need to see them, so guys you all know who you are get the pictures up so we can all see the magnificent Soviet jets being made. So far only two Mig 21's have been completed and Vance is coming in with a fitter so there is potential here and if you are reading this and have a soviet jet join us and send in your pictures!

Whoops! Guess I should have checked, there's no way I can finish the kit, even half done as she is by February 1st. If it's ok I'll still sign on but I won't be able to meet the end date though.

Also the finish date is still February 1st. I wonder if when it is done if we should get all the pictures compiled and ask the editors of the magazine if they would publish it in their pages? A way of promoting the Forums and the Group Builds? T get more people involved.

Dean, thanks!

Yeah I'm on the east coast of the US. It's up to you - if you don't want to deal with it I'll just do the Foxbat on my own and post her in the aircraft forum when I get done.

If you do go ahead I'll try to get a photo up this weekend. Not at all sure when I'll even get to her though, I'm still plowing though a pile of stuff besides this I started and never finished.

I would like to see pictures from you guys who are still involved in this GB as it is becoming a ghost town here, there are some promising works around here so more pictures of progress would be great as this can still be the best GB online easily considering the talent displayed so far and even if you are not in this GB please join and show a picture of what you intend to build, it has to be Soviet and begin with the letter F and be post 1945. I does not matter what Air Force you want to do or scale, just join us and start building!

Well okay yeah why not? It would be good to see more people join in and kick start this GB once again as I believe it had so much potential, so please join in. Bearing in mind the time zone difference I live in Belfast and I think many of you guys are in the US? but yes I will take over this one then, why not.

Wow, some awesome work going on here!

Dean27: Are you taking over this GB then? I was going though my stash and found a Revell 1/48th MiG-25 that I'd started years ago and never finished. The kit is pretty much together but still needs to be painted, I think I have all the parts. I thought about this GB but due to 'The Most Interesting Field Marshal in the World' being KIA I wasn't sure it was still going on. If I haven't proceeded too far with the build I might be willing to toss her in here sometime in the future when I get more stuff cleared off the bench, just to get the darn thing done. Up to you!

Great to see Vance I really think this particular subject is a great one as there are a vast numbers of colours and scales to work from I look forward to seeing your build, I am currently pre-shading my Mig-29. Takes a while on a 1/32 scale kit though but here is a picture of my progress so far.
