Wonderful build!

I'm always reading your works in progress to glean a bit of information and whatever building sequences and tips you put forth. Thank you Toshi for another WIP to which I'll most certainly refer when I do mine.

I would have commented earlier but got back from hiking in Death Valley on Saturday and have been doing laundry, paying taxes, and catching up in general for a couple of days.

Thank you 1943Mike! I'm humbled that you could glean as you say information from my WIP. It is my extreme pleasure to do a WIP. In turn I learn so much from you all!

No need to explain commenting earlier as you were busy with everyday life items. I was away as well due to walking pneumonia. We all have our things to do.

I'm just greatly appreciative of your kind words and visit to my P-38 thread!

Great finish Toshi! Like the others, I really like the look of your NMF. That's the look I would love to get. Used, but not abused.

Thank you so much! I used Model Master Chrome Silver Enamel. I also used a NEO by Iwata Gravity Feed Pistol Grip AB. It has a wider spray pattern than the AB I always use, a NEO by Iwata Gravity Feed AB. I love these AB. They are so easy to use and clean and the control is great. Thank you for the visit!

Thank you iampiper13! This NMF paint I used is the second time I used it. It's a Model Master Chrome Silver Enamel. It sprays great but the draw back is the smell. Thank you for the visit!

Another fantastic build! The NMF came out just right, and as usual, your decal work is outstanding. Glad you were feeling well enough to finish this. The cutouts so we can see the engines worked out very well. Can't wait to see your next project.

Thank you sir. I shot the NMF with my NEO by Iwata pistol grip AB. It sprays with a wider pattern helping with coverage. The original decals would not slide off. I was perplexed! These decals are AM ones of which I can highly recommend. It was a pleasure to utilize.

I'm very pleased with the way the engine cutouts turned out. I learned a lot in this endevour. As for my next project I need to rest a bit as I'm not 100% cured yet. But I do want to thank you for your support in my projects!

Very, very nice build! I can't help but remember the muffled throated roar of the Allision V-12's of the P-38 "Scatter Brain Kid" back in the the early 70's. Unfortunately it was fatally crashed in Oct. of 1974. I worked in the same hangar it was kept and heard many a ground runup and take offs and landings. I have this kit in my stash, actually 2! I first saw this Lightning in June of 1968 the day after it was flown in to Abbeville, La with a photo mapping nose and painted up in the faded crimson markings of "YIPEE" THE 5,000th P-38 built. It was completely restored by Paul Fornet Air Service in Lafayette, La. over the next year and flew in these markings about May of 1969. The owner was Revis Sermon who flew a P-38 in these marking in the North African campaign I believe.
