Looks great!  However, if it's possible you need to switch the props!  They are counter rotating inboard as on the prototype.  Production P-38's rotated outboard (from viewing the top blade from above).

Clear Left!

Toshi

 To my fellow forum members,

I finally feel better, at least enough to post my most recent addition to the P-38.  I'm not 100% yet and when Mrs. Toshi caught me building this kit today, I got scoldings so I stopped for now.  I'll be able to do some more tonight as Mrs. Toshi finally conceded to my building of kits with the remark she made of which is; "Only for a half hour at a time"!  LOL!

Until then Mrs. Toshi and I plus our grandson and grandsons mom and dad, will be going to Chinatown to eat some Dim Sum.  This will be my first outing in two weeks!

Hi Toshi,

Wonderful work on this P38.  I am glad you are feeling better and got Grandson time.  I too have been out, had to have a hole in my sinus cavity repaired which required teeth to be removed.  Then on top of it, I get a bad bronchial infection.  Now that hopefully we are all on the mend, we can get back to some serious modeling and grandkid spoilingGeeked

To BrandonK,

Yes, it's nice to be back.  At least as you mentioned slowly.  I need to definately take it easy.  Thank you for the information in regards to the decals.  I really appreciate it!

Great to see you slowly getting back at it. Very nice. And great work on the -38 thus far.

With regard to your inquiry regarding those decals, yes, I have used those on my B-17 and they were no issue at all to use. Went down great.

Gamera

Gee, I'd spend a nice day out with the grandkids too but good to see you back at the bench after your illness!

I used a set of the Kits World decals a couple months ago and had no issues with them. They were tiny 1/72nd decals though, hope these big ones don't give you any problems.

Yes, we had weird weather in that it was 70 degrees one day so I took my grandson for a walk.  The very next day the temps dropped to 35 degrees with 3" of snow.  Incredibly crazy.  But that's Ohio for you!  LOL!

That's good to know that these decals work.  I'll be decaling the P-38 this evening.  Gamera, thank you so much for your help and support for me!

Bish

Good to see you back Toshi.

I have not used any of their decals yet, but i have not heard of any issues with them.

Thank you Bish, it's really good to be back!  I'm still not 100% yet but I can put in about a half hour of bench time a day before I get fatigue.  That's great to know that I'll have no issues with the AM decals per reviews you've read.  I also have read these reviews as well.  Thank you for supporting me!

Here is is my next project in regards to the decals.  For those of you following this build, the original decals would not come off, those that did which of only were a few decals desintergrated.

So my fix were these AM decals.  Has anyone used these before?  Please let me know ASAP.  I'd like to know, that's all.  Until then, I'll be working on the prop hub and some misc. clear parts and items.  Thank you my brothers and sisters!

M. Brindos

I caught a cold just before the weekend lol. I spent a couple of hours on my P-40 Saturday, but all I did was make more work for myself. (Bad masking)

I'll have to post some pictures later I suppose. Its not exactly my best day of painting.

I hope you're feeling better!  Eh!  We all have good days and bad days.  Sometimes it's good to step back for a couple of days to rest the mind.  Right now I'm going into a deep depression, fatigue, the weather (No sun), and with my current injuries and walking pneumonia, this is testing my patience drastically.  Hence I figured to get back at the bench I hope it helps a little.

Knowing you have a plan and I'm most eager to follow this build you speak of.  Thank you for your concern, read and replies!

Feel better, my friend. No rush, but it's good to see you back at the bench. :)

I will, and thank you for your concern and well wishes.  The walking pneumonia really took a toll on me.  I can only do about a half hour of bench time and that just wipes me out.  I get fatigued.

But I definately know I still need to get bed rest and to not do things.  Thank you again for your concern and I'll be posting a little bit of something every so many days.

Melgyver

Looking great!  Just remember the props rotated outboard making both engines "critical" during single engine operations.  The orginal plan of counter rotating inboard caused buffetting over the horizontal stabilizer and elevator.

Thank you sir!  I did not know about the information you just posted to me in regards of the props that rotates outboard.  I will ensure that I install the props accordingly.  Thank you sir for taking the time out to post this information and visiting my P-38 thread.
