M. Brindos I'm so glad you are choosing to display those Merlins. That detail is phenominal. I hope you are still considering the Ki-61Id I recommended as it is just as much of an extreme pleasure to build. Although its only 1/48 its just as wonderful as this kit. Keep up the wonderful progress my friend. You are doing a splendid job of this build! :D

Thank you for supporting my Mosquito build as well as the read and replies.

I've finally completed one nacelle, now for the other nacelle and engine assembly.
1943Mike Very exciting following along on this build! Looks like the sub-sections (engines, etc.) are little models in and of themselves. I trust they give you some sense of satisfaction as each are put together whether or not they'll ever be seen. They ought to - you're doing a very good job on all you've shown so far.

As you mentioned, the sub assemblies can be very satisfying and it also keeps me thinking about the next steps. Believe me or not, I still am not done with the engines assemblies. There are several pieces that need to be painted and glued.
What's great about this kit is that Tamiya really engineered this model superbly. The entire engine will be displayed through the clear cowling of which are attached with magnets. And you know me, I'll leave everything off to display the nacelles.
Thank you 1943Mike for your very kind words and support in my Mosquito build. I highly appreciate that as well as your visit with me! It brings me great joy to be able to share my builds in steps on this thread.

armornut Ok, so I have a friend who builds 24th planes, he is politely leaning on me to "take the leap". After watching your build Toshi I am very tempted. Just AWESOME sir.

we're modelers it's what we do
scottrc The color of the exhaust pipes is perfect. When installing the cowl panels, just remember, fit and measure twice, cut and sand once.

scottrc Dang Toshi, the engine assembly is very detailed. Its so tempting to want to drill out those exhaust ports and wait for the smoke to come out. Hopefully, everything fits up when the cowls go on. That is one fine kit. Scott

I hope everything lines up with the cowls.
