Looks awesome. Decals look painted on. Great job.

Thank you so very much!  I get my inspiration from you and Forum members.

It was a very nervous situation.  I had to work very fast and accurate, especially on the eagle's wing as it was a very large decal to apply.  Thank you for sharing your support for this thread. I greatly appreciate it!

Toshi that paint looks super smooth! Almost looks like you polished the whole model before laying it down. Nice freehand work too, must have been nerve wracking after doing a clean basecoat.

Thank you so much for the kind words.  Yes, shooting the camoflauge was nerve wracking as I also was using a new AB that I'm trying to get used to.

It's a Iwata HP-CS.  It works wonderfully.  The base coat was shot with a TRN1 for Iwata.  It's a trigger gravity feed AB.  I actually bent the needle and nozzle during cleaning so I had to order a new one.

The parts arrived just in time for this build!  LOL!  Strange how things just works out.  Thank you sir for visiting my F-15 thread.  I so greatly appreciate it.

That looks great!  I really might just have to pick up this kit some day.  I keep telling myself 'but you already have an F-15.'  I also have 5 C-130's, and 1 in the stash, but that's okay because it's my favorite plane!Wink

Thank you so very much.  I looked at how clean and smooth of a paint job you did on the Dog and Cat! You inspired me to try to get as close of a finish like yours.

I too already have an F-15, what's another one!  LOL!  You only live once, go and get it.  I didn't know you had five C-130's, wow that's very cool as the C-130 is the backbone of the military!

My favorite aircraft of all time is the F-4U Corsair.  I have four!  LOL!  Thank's for stopping by, I really appreciate it.

I got the top done today.  I was surprised on how well the decals went on.

I'll be working on the sides next then the bottom of the F-15.  After that, there are a ton of stencils to do.

Greg

Everything is looking good, Toshi.

Bummer about that intake panel, but your sure didn't let it faze you. I'm an anal mess about doing things in order, I would be all-systems-stop waiting for the part. Hopefully I might learn something from you here.

I'm getting a little bit excited to see the decals going on.

....And there is that Tamiya paint stand coming in handy yet again. One of these days I'm going to break down and buy one.

Thank you so very much Greg.  I hold your comments in such high esteem.  Yes, the issue/situation about the Intake Panel really upset me but after I calmed down and ordered my Intake Panel from Revell, everything was good with me.  Their customer service is impeccable.

I too am excited and yet a bit hesitant in applying the Eagles somewhat complex decals.  I'm also most honored that Darren Roberts, the gentleman of whom built the F-15C Eagle kit for Revell to display on their boxed kit would reply on my thread to ensure me that the decals go on easily.  I very much hope that will happen to me.  He gave me the confidence to plow ahead without fear.  And he complimented that my camoflauge was; "Spot on".

Greg once again thank you so very much for your continued support in my builds and these wonderful conversations we have with each other as friends!  Thank you Greg!

Toshi

P.S. In my humble opinion, just go ahead and buy the Tamiya paint stand.  My paint stand has already paid itself back in dividends.  It works for auto kits, armour kits, space kits, aircraft kits, and just about anything you can think of!

Hey Toshi. That freehand camo looks excellent. Glad you got to use that new Iwata AB. Looks like you got a handle on it right quick. Maybe if I show your picture posts to my Mrs., and mention that this was a gift from Mrs. Toshi...(hint, hint, hint). Seriously, excellent job.

Thank you Dman!  I so enjoy the Iwata HP-CS Eclipse.  It's twice as heavy as the NEO by Iwata, but it's extremely balanced as well.  I like the way it feels in my hand and it's extremely precise and very sensitive to your movements.

When my daughter was a student at Kent State, she introduced me to an AB artist.  He owned nothing but Iwata AB.  I got to try them all and my favorite AB was the Iwata Custom Micron.  That AB is at or around $350.00 to $400.00.  That's my dream AB someday!  LOL!

You should try it.  You just never know what life throws at you.  LOL!  Thanks Dman for everything you do for me, I greatly appreciate your assistance!

Just checking on you! The camo looks great. Those decals look daunting to say the least. I'm anxious to see how that goes. Keep up the good work Toshi my friend.

Thank you so very much for checking in on me.  I do need that from time to time.  Your a great friend.  That's why Mrs. Toshi stays home with me for the; "Just in case situations"!

While building the F-15C Eagle, I too was most anxious in getting to the point of where the decals can be applied.

But I learned from the past two years from Forum members not to rush things as bad things can happen to the kit one is building.

So I'm letting the Eagle's paint job cure for a couple of days (Vallejo Acrylic Color) then I'll spray the Testors Clear Laqcuer Paint.  Let that cure as well then it's off to the application of decals!  Thank you sir for your continued support in my builds!

LOL!   LOL!  LOL!  Yes, I must agree with you, it's missing a propeller!  LOL!  I showed it to Mrs. Toshi and cracked up!  Thank you for the laugh this morning.  I needed that.  You're the man!

Hi Toshi, just dropping by to give you my support.  The free hand airbrushing came out great.  One thing I noticed with this build that is unlike most of your other builds, is that this one it missing a propeller.Geeked

Looking great Toshi!  Can't wait to see it with the decals!  Which airbrush did you use for the freehand camo?  I have a Paasche VL, and I'm getting better with it, but I can't paint that cleanly like you have, wondering if it's me or the airbrush, lol.    I see I've been the talk of the town lately, lol!  I'll be slowing down with summer right around the corner.  Have a camping trip planned, plus an airshow at the National Warplane museum.  Rainy days will still be spent modeling though!

Thank you Ms. Keyda, your words are too kind.  You humble me!  I currently have four AB that I used.  I used a NEO BY Iwata and a TRN1 NEO by Iwata with a Pistol grip handle and a Iwata HP-CS Iwata Eclipse.

By the way, they are all gravity feed AB except I have a siphon AB from HF, it came with a compressor.  And it works really well!

What I dId is use the Eclipse to outline the camoflange (at 10psi) then I'll use the NEO (at 30psi) for the inside of the coverages.  The whole plane was sprayed with the TRN1 Iwata Pistol Grip (35psi to 40psi) for full coverages.  All panel liners are raised on this kit that made it's debut in 1979.  So I'm making the best of it.  I used Vallejo color.

Yes, the joke around here was that I was the king of speed pumping out all the kits in a matter of days.  Now you're the queen whom can crank out kits with amazing speeds and still have your kits look fantastic!  I hope this helps, if not ask  what you're exactly doing and maybe we can fix this for you.  Thank you for the question and the visit.

Shipwreck

Toshi, you must be getting old; it has been seven days since you started, and your not done yet? Maybe Keyda broke your motivation! Looking good, as always.

LOL!  LOL!  LOL!  I made Mrs. Toshi read this post and we both had a great laugh about it!  We agreed I'm getting old!  LOL!

Thank you so much for that Shipwreck, I needed that!  You're the man!  Yes, isn't Keyda fast. And all her builds are terrific!  She's the new queen of speed, I think she built two kits (Tomcat and Sabre Dog) since I started the F-15C Eagle.

Shipwreck, thank you so much for supporting my builds, this means so much to me!

BrandonK

Looking really good, Toshi. Your cruzin' right through this one.

BK

Thank you so much BrandonK!  I so appreciate your support in my builds.  I don't know if I was as you said; "Cruzin' right through this one".

I had several gap issues that needed Tamiya Putty and I think I sanded my fingers down to the bone!  LOL!  I got really really spoiled by the Tamiya 1/32 Mosquito.  LOL!

But I got everything under control now and everything at the very least looks square.  BrandonK, once again, thank you so much for the support and guiding me in my builds through the last two years!
