That is a superb build, Toshi. It makes me want to put down the Shinden and pick up the Wildcat, but I can't do that until I have done my due diligence and looked to see what is available on the AM scene For the cockpit, MG barrels etc.

After the Shinden I am starting my competition build for the other forum I am on and matching two kits together. The fit's kit is Amusing Hobbys gantry crane and I am matching that with RFM's cutaway Panther in a sort of  pairing up display rather than a diorama.

I do hope you will join in with those builds and they will have separate threads as I hope other members of the community Will join in. The more the merrier.

Come on over to the dark side for a build, Toshi and do as I do and split between the two. It is fun And it is amazing how many skills and techniques travel between them!

Toshi- you did beautiful work on this Avenger. All the way down to the corroded exhaust port! I have enjoyed this thread immensely. It was great to see images of Super Hero Ezra, too. This was a really fun build to watch. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Nicely done.....you both can be pround of the build.  Keep it safe so you can hand it down when he is bigger.  For sure he will remember it all his life, along with building it with you.

Thank you snapdragonxxx!  He has great eyes as he will pick out things that I’ll miss.  “Papa, What’s dat”?  Lol!

That is an awesome story, it’s always important to give back.  Unfortunately in the US, we will have every other protestor out in droves especially with weapons and armoured vehicles running around on the field.  Lol!  It must make you feel really great displaying your work as a former alumni.

Good for you!  Now it’s back to work to finish up the Avenger.

Looking really good Toshi!

I need a superhero with eyesight at the moment LOL

The Vallejo chipset accurate stuff really makes these birds look the real thing which is good for young people to learn from.

I have several builds on display in a cabinet at my old school which I change at odd times. With them goes a page giving all the details about the subject and the paint colours etc. It is a draw for the pupils and the history department love them as they are good reference material. Also combined with a visit from my real Panzers and some re-enactears for a living history weekend makes the WWII part of the national curriculum come to life. It is a huge resource for the school and as it is done at no cost to the local education authority and run by the re-enactors themselves out of their own pockets a huge saving for cash strapped schools.

Parents sign waivers (there are some real snowflakes around). The school playing field is turned into a large divided camp with space for the vehicles to run round, a couple of firing ranges (blanks) and the kids plus parents get a whole range of activities including foot drill, field cooking, firing weapons under strict supervision, access to vehicles with some adults learning to drive tanks and some of the children learning loading and firing drills and taking part in maintainance. First aid sessions, radio operations and all sorts of other activities are done and all under the eagle eyes of veterans. The kids and parents learn so much over a long weekend starting on a Thursday and ending Sunday.

Much fun, kids get educated in a way they will not forget and it is nice to give back.

We were able to spray on the gloss, add decals, then sprayed some flat coat on.  Here are the results.

Hey Toshi! It is no wonder why your Avenger turned out so nice. You have Spider-Man helping you! No fair.

Wink

Hey, nice work! With the help of Spider-Man Ezra, you banged this plane out fast. Are you done with it? Any other details to do?

[/quote]Lol!  Lol!  Yes, some days, he’s ”Spider-Man” and on other days he’s ”The Incredibles”!   Tomorrow we will be heading out to visit Mrs. Toshi’s older sister in Ashtabula, Ohio.  The usual wildlife, fishing, and etc.

Yes, there are several small detailed items that must be addressed from painting to installations! Or both.

I do have Trumpeter's 1/32 F4F-4 in the stash and might drag that out in the future!

That’s a excellent kit sir.  I love the clear cowling, once that’s installed it looks so cool.

Hi Toshi,

This bird is looking good. Personally I would have also done the canopy exterior while still masked both sides with the finish coat and a flat clear protective coat over the top. once all dry and cured I remove the interior masks and clean the glass with washing up liquid in water and a cotton bud to remove fingerprints etc and the the last thing to do is to remove the exterior masks and clean the glass once all is installed and painted on the kit. You may want to consider insignia masks rather than the kit decals.

Thank you for the heads up.  I’ve never done interior canopy painting framing before so this is a first for me.  Once again, thank you snapdragonxxx!
