And if you decide to give up modeling, you can do a cartoon strip for the papers. Right bewteen "Peanuts Classics" and "The Wizard of Id"...
"The Adeventures of Chuk and Giant Penny Abe"

Awesome work fella. You rock.

Ah- this is great stuff brother. I have really enjoyed seeing what you've done with this one-- if more magazines did this type of thing, I'd really learn some stuff! I hope the FSM editors are watching...
I am thoroughly enjoying not only your progress- but also your sketches as others have mentioned. They remind me a lot of a book I have called "There I Was...25 Years" featuring the artwork of Bob Stevens from the 78th Fighter Group. Looking forward to your next installment!
OH! Yeah... that detail is just sooo... Uhhh sooo... lacking... (((NOT!)))
After careful review of my work in progress, I JUST BARFED ON MY PROJECT, THANKS!!!
arki30: "previous life"- you mean- I'm dead?!?! I work as an illustrator now- in other words, I'm cheating here! :D Check out www.chukw.com- and www.blur.com (my job). Thanks, man!
wyoroy: I don't have the sub-miniture punch set, but I can slice stretched sprue. Stay tuned- a bizzarre experiment is in progress....
davew6003: I can't be stopped- I'm too ornery! Whoooo-hoooooooooo!! ;)
wing_nut: Thanks, buddy- It's always nice to have a Plan B. Cheers!
Well, I'm trying something with that radio, but in the meantime thought I'd crack into the wings. It's been a busy week, so I only got one done... take it away, Lil' Chuk!

Maybe you were, but clearly not now! Yeah, those websites are sweet. I can tell we've only seen a glimpse of your sketching talent here. Keep it up 'cause we like.

Daywalker wrote:OMG Chuck! This is amazing stuff! The comedy and illustrations add so much to your build. I have to admit I'm gonna feel a little depressed when this one is finished. That is unless, you promise to do another build with similar material!
Yeah great idea Daywalker. So whats next? A 1/48 B 29 with all the extras? Maybe a 1/48 Lancaster? Ohhh maybe one of those giant german flying boats with 6 engines in 1/48 that would be cool.
....or take things the other way and solicit Chukw to do a 1/144th build!
I cant believe the modeling brilliance that I'm seeing in this thread.
Amazing! And thankyou for taking the time to do this.
Mike
This thread keeps getting better and better! I can"t wait to see your brass wheel wells!

I've been watching this build from Day One with great interest. This Helldiver build is simply incredible! Congrats on 'beyond museum quality' craftsmanship and detail. I'm including some of my fathers Helldiver history. He flew 'The Beast' out of NAS Wildwood NJ. Included with the pics is the official flight manual, some interior shots and his flight log book. The blue chunk of metal is part of a Helldiver wingtip from a mid-air 'touch' doing formation flying! Thank you so much for the detail and workmanship on your project! jim
ps...I will be more than happy to show more interior pics if needed.
"Whaddya mean 'Who's flying the plane?!' Nobody's flying the plane!"
You guys just overwhelm me! I'm on the run here and will answer you all later- except of Glavbay- those pics RAWK!!! Thanks a bunch, pal!
I've had to beg, borrow and steal modeling time lately, but here's the latest installment- enjoy!
Amazing work as usual!
I can't decide whether I want to see the finished plane or not. On one hand, the finished model will be absolutely amazing! On the other hand, that will mean these awesome updates will be over.
Unless there's a sequel planned......hmmmm......one can always dream! (hint, hint, nudge, nudge)

I am personally going to vote for a 1/48 B 29 (see previous post)

Do i have to use the same year penny to achieve these great results
Great SBS, sir, my hat is off to you!
It's really inspiring, because I have the old Monogram SB2C in the stash, and I want to do the same kind of bashing and superdetailing on it. You're showing that with care, you can really do a nice job with a basic model.
Can't wait for the next installment!
The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.
As always, great work. I like that you have labeled the tools also. Look forward to more of your work.

That's fantastic work - and all too seldom do we get to see a really well presented, documented, step-by-step "how-to" article.
Very well done indeed....I'm very much looking forward to the next installment.
And whoever it is that does the little cartoons is a very talented cartoonist - my hat's off to him, too!
Thanks for sharing your build, mate!
Cheers, LeeTree Remember, Safety Fast!!!
Man Chuk, since i came on this forum a good year and a half ago, ive seen countless quality builds posted on here. Of all ive seen, Armor included, this build is the best (IMHO)
I looked at your websites and would recommend others too, too. Your cartoons are great. You have talent my friend.
p.s Shave your fingers you freek. LOL
I've got an idea for a sequel...
How about a scratchbuilt 1/24-scale B-52 bomber?
Like a fine wine, this thread gets better with age. The cartoons really snap it up!
