Thanks Bsyamato .Well both canopies are a mismold ! The Supersonic one is really bad

The other only the ends are missing so I'm stuck with that

I cut off the ends

Made some new ends from an old vac canopy scrap

Not great but once I add some canopy glue the seams will be gone

The basic build is ready for some paint

Here is my little 1/72 ME 163 completed in the colour of the first ever rocket powered attack. Pilot was Wolfgang Spatte. Allegedly he was more than a tad ticked off at the groundcrew who decided red is a good colour for his plane! As soon as he landed it was orderd removed LOL!

1/72 ME 163

1/72 ME 163

1/72 ME 163

The tractor was to "clean" so I just muddied it up a bit

1/72 ME 163

The plane is depicted as having just been recovered, therefore it has no wheel dolley.

Theuns Thats some great back ground info about the color! The build looks simply awesome and love the ground handling dolley!Very nicely done Sir!!!

The base black is on and all the seams look tight ,as soon as its good and dry I can mask off the black nose and tip hinges and start spraying white.

The base white went down no problems

Was hoping to wet sand it down and have the black undercoat accent the panel lines, epic fail here.

Regrouped and decided just to respray the white put the decals down

Going with a Urethane clear top coat with some fast hardner

Who is that masked Man?

The clear is on and waiting to kick off

In case anyone hasn't seen the kit, this is it

The pit is pretty bare. Ok, very bare. I will be adding some Me 262 PE and either a seat from the spares box, or failing i have a decent one, a resin He 162 seat.

The forum change was the biggest reason why I was gone so long, as I allready told Scorpio, I hate all the extra scrolling I need to do, and it's not so easy to see what threads have new posts, and is it me or did they change this whole backspace thing now?

Hi Ninetalis,

Wasn't going to fold them, do I need to to join this build ?

I am toying with buying a YF16 CCV instead, will let you know if  I decide to change.

Cheers

Well, you don't really need to, but it would be more fun if you did so when we all put our pictures together  to see all these special planes, but its's okay, you can do it like that or build your YF16 or both (;

With regards, Ninetalis.

Hey Scorpiomikey,

Since you're building that bugatti, here are some pic's I found that might help you out,

Look at the engine in the back, the engine is not lined straight with the fuselage itself.
also not the lack of a tail wheel
An amazing aircraft, with beautifull lines, kinda jealous of your kit actually...

Cheers for that ninetails. Its a really complicated setup. The pilot actually sat between the drive shafts.

The one thing im not clear on is the assembly of the canopy. All the drawings i can see show aluminium framing, or no framing at all. The photos show aged glue marks, which makes me think the canopy was glued together.

Another interesting note, the pilots forward vision was through a small hole in the dash. The restoration job having in the airventure museum has this covered over.
