Wow here we go again!

I'll post what i wrote in reply to Jon's mail:

This year I’m really undecided whether to participate or not.

While being a great fun picking a gift for your recipient and staring in anticipation at the gift you received, I have a huge stash of models that wait to be done and at the actual pace of two a year I’m afraid I’ll have to leave some to my descendants.

So the funny guy in me tells me to take another round while the reasonable one tells me to sit out. But then again, given my name, could it be a SSGB without me? Laugh [(-D]
I’ll let you know as soon as we have a winner.

In the meantime thank you for organizing this great event one more time.

Klaus

Santa says - this year No more ticking packages - I've gone DIGITAL(silencer on each one......).

Are we having fun yet?  Went to the LHS on Saturday - peek preview - oh the aroma of wrapped plastic

Glad to have all of you guys join!

I've updated the roster- please look it over. If you've sent me your stuff, and you don't see your name there, please let me know.

And if you don't see your name there because you haven't joioned- PLEASE JOIN! Big Smile [:D] We'd love to have you share in the friendship and fellowship that is a great part of this build!

Even though I've not sent out recipients yet, I encourage you to be thinking on "extra" things you could send along if you'd like- maybe some pictures of you and your family, or a nice card, or anything else that could help make a connection between you and your recipient. I can guarantee they'll appreciate it!

My first as well.  I gotta say it sounds like a whole lot of fun.  It's weird feeling this kind of anticipation to go buy a model that I know I'll be sending to someone else.  It sounds like a great way to start getting to know the folks here in the forum.

Jon - Looks like the list is growing.  Santa's stuff sack is getting bigger.

Remember the Jolly 'rotund' man likes milk and cookie monster sized Chocolate Chip Cookies.

The countdown is underway.  Let the anticipation start.  I hear there have been trial runs to the LHS.

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] aboard to the 1st timers.  You are in for the time of your life, only apple pie is better.  Dinner [dinner]

Beware "Big Brother", I mean Santa's helpers are watching.  What web cams/hidden cameras popping up already.Banged Head [banghead]

That's awesome to hear! You'll find that the anticipation and the giving are the truly fun parts. Building is great- but any time you can have fun with chatting and fellowshipping and giving, it just gives you that warm feeling inside!

Kinda like a double bean burrito with a side of guacamole.... Wink [;)]

After a bit of thinking, I can now easily make a countdown clock, but FSM forum software won't allow us to run scripts in posts...The best that I can do is make one, then Jon could link to it...

Cheers,
Alex

I've put in a request to the admins in Support and Feedback to help us out with the permissions to do this.  Also, it is a simple change to make a countdown clock one of the editing bar options, and BBcode even supports it with a built in code, and I've given them a heads up as to that option as well.  So, we'll soon see if this is doable.

Cheers,
Alex

I figure I better post since I signed up a few days ago... As my first SSGB, I'm really looking forward to this!

I hope the admins allow the countdown clock, it sounds like a great idea.
