I've decided to allow in ships, into this GB. So if you wanna build a ship you got in that stash, but was just waiting for the right moment, here's your chance!

All ships are allowed in that were part of the Lend-Lease Act. That means frigates from the Tacoma class, Clemson & Caldwell Class Destroyers, HMS Ameer class escort carriers, sub chasers from the SC-497 Class, and minesweepers from the Admirable class, are all allowed. But the list go's on and on. If your wondering if the ship you want to build was in Lend-Lease ask a question or check out this site, provided by lewbud: http://www.ww2pacific.com/llnames.html

 Hello,

mg.mikael, glad to hear you've decided to include ships. A diversified collection!

lewbud, thanks for the link. Had no idea the number of ships and receiving nations. Wow!

Looking forward to the start date.

I was wondering that since I am going to build a M10 Wolverine, I have noticed in all the photos I have found and downloaded that there is no unit marking. So would they have had markings  from the US unit they came from or no Unit marking at all?

Are you gonna do an American or Soviet paint scheme? If your gonna do a Soviet paint scheme these pics may help.

If you do an American paint scheme, the markings would simply look like the ones on these pics below. Hope this helps.

That helps. The 80 photro I have already show the same markings. I was wondering if it would have the Hellcat marking?

The M18 Hellcat was a different vehicle then the M10 Wolverine, and the markings are somewhat similar. But there probably is some differences.

I was referring to the hellcat emblem on the back of the turret on thre previous posted picture of the M10. Not the M18 Hellcat. Sorry about the confusion.

Here's an official update on this GB, for all those following this thread and keeping tabs.

First of all, we have 56 days untill January 1st, 2009. Yeah, I know the new year is coming quickly.Party [party]

Secondly, this GB currently has 23 participants. Spread the word to fellow modellers, because everyone is welcome.Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

Third, the Lend-Lease GB is now open to ship builds. That means acceptable builds now include ships, armor, aircraft, and artillery. Cool [8D]

Finally, the artillery and ship badges will be uploaded tommorrow.

I've been looking around the forums, and have seen a few members have already claimed the badges for this GB. I'm glad people are excited about this GB, and thus are already puttin' the badges in their signature, but........PLEASE refrain from claiming the badge. As it says on the first page, Badge is claimable upon completion of model.

Hi Folks. I've managed to narrow my choices for this one. I have a choice of

1/ Airacobra - Soviet airforce, Academy kit

2/ Havard - RAF, Airfix, Heller, Revell or Academy kit

3/ Sherman firefly - British army, Matchbox kit

4/ Hurricane - Soviet airforce, Heller kit

5/ P51a Mustang - RAF, Frog kit (this ones original and still in cellophane!!!)

6/ Brewster Buffallo - RAF, Matchbox kit

Thats the list narrowed down from about 30 choices. What would you guys like to see built?

All the best.

I'm partial to the armor, so a Sherman Firefly would be cool, but a P51 Mustang in RAF colors is sweet to, since that's the plane on the aircraft badge. But hey it's your decision, so build whatever you think you'll have the most fun building.Cool [8D]

I say either the Airacobra or the Firefly. But pick what would be the most fun.

Sign - Ditto [#ditto]

The Hurricane would be a neat build also, but ultimately the choice is up to ewe.

All the best.

Ok, since I did not finish 75% of the GBs I signed up for 08, I will have to,well, just better that average this year! (2009).

I have the 1:48 Hasegawa Airacobra Mk.1 RAF

I think that qualifies?
