My PC which hoards pics and won't let me post them....was to go into the shop on the w/e of Oct. 18/19 while I was out of town. I never went out of town. Been living w/ this nonsense!

PC into shop Nov. 3rd.....two, three days......so I'll be off-line until recovery.

(But that's next week!)

Thanks for the reply nam. I thought I saw something posted about that but I couldn't find the dern thing! I had already drilled out the two holes for the rails, but I was much less sure about the crossmember. Thanks again.

I posted a couple pages back about that 'bump'. I cut out the bump flush with the bulkhead to allow the floor to sit properly. I also drilled out the two mounting holes for the outer seat rails (#89 & 90) and they can then be glued more easily from the backside of part #71.

Wasn't sure until done, but cockpit assembly fits nicely into fuselage half.

Glad you said that, I need to make a trip to Michaels fo rthe same thing.  With their 40% off coupon they have a 48 kit for about 8 bucks.

I went to the LHS today and found a donor B-25 kit for the engines, props and cowlings; the old Italeari kit for $ 10. So if anyone needs Mitchell parts, let me know. This one has the gun ship nose and good looking clear bits.

Can't wait to get started, but two GB's ahead of it.

Warhammer! I rec'd the Osprey book I ordered about PBY Atlantic operations. I found some info about French and US squadrons operating from French Morocco....but absolutely not one word about torpedo ops!

Some bombing accounts and much info about depth charges.

She let me borrow a different copy of the book today. It's the original manuscript! Has WAY more info, mainly personal info like boot camp etc. In the book he has also included a parrallel story of a Japanese sailor during the same period and also has the original letters that were written back and forth.The sailors name is Mr. Miyoshi Tamura, and is a former maintenance petty officer 1st class, Imperial Japanese Navy, and participated in air battles in and around the Solomon Islands during 1943-1944. He enlisted in 1941 and belonged mainly to Zero fighter units.

He got Mr. Miyoshi Tamura's address from retired Lt.Gen. JASDF, Masatake Okumiya.

I'll stop babbling now, lol.

Hey Nam, in case I didn't mention it before, my 1/144 kit is from Minicraft, it'll be built OOB with the kit's "Black Cat" markings. I wasn't looking forward to doing a black aircraft in that scale, but lo and behold, there is absolutely zilch in the way of available 1/144 PBY aftermarket decals... not exactly a surprise, but a little disappointing. So "Black Cat" it's going to be!

Oh, and this Marine will be pleased to be known as a Sergeant and not a Petty Officer, if it pleases the Leiutenant, Sir.
