Blimey, page two again!!!  Only four weeks to go, sneaking up on us fast... speaking of which...

That Calvin GIF is hilarious! I wish he was still writing new strips. Boohoo [BH]

Think I'm all squared away - the paint is all ready to go, just wish I had been able to find a precut canopy mask to speed things along...I'll just have to do it myself. Meh. Grumpy [|(]

Sounds great Dupes.  I'm thinking of switching my build to a 1/72 Academy Fw 190 A-8.  If I do I need to order some decals for it so I better decide soon.

Dave, got the PE set for the Walker Bulldog the other day and after looking at it I wil have to change my entry.  I think I will do the Acadamy's 1/72 scale P-40E.  There is no way I could do the other kit in two daysSigh [sigh]

How standardized were the colors throughout the Commonwealth?  I'm building the Brewster Buffalo in RAAF colors and was wondering if they were the same as the colors used by the RAF?

Lewbud, I really don't know anything about the RAAF colours.  I know in the European Theatre they were very Ssandardized and I know that the Canadians squadrons who flew on the British Carriers in the Pacific wore the standard RAF colours so it would be a pretty safe bet that the RAAF used the same colours as well...

Here is a link to an article that talks about the Buffalo in Australia, I did a quick scan and didn't see anything on camo schemes but a google search of images on the RAAF Buffalo shows that it likely had the RAF colours.

I thought I was having out-of-town visitors that weekend, but plans changed so I'm free! I'd like to participate if I may. I have what is (for me) the perfect kit for this- Accurate Miniatures 1/72 Predator UAV. Single color paint scheme, no cockpit, and best of all no canopy... Smile [:)]

Looking forward to it.

Shoot man, 2 weeks to go!

Razordws, is there any sort of executive decision on when we're building? I.E., Saturday/Sunday versus, say, Friday 7 P.M. to Sunday 7 P.M.?

Two weeks!!! Tongue [:P]

Dupes, I was going to put that up for discussion and since you brought it up... what does everyone think.  Keep it to a 48 hour period or go from the time you get off work on Friday until you go back to work on Monday?

I think I'd lean towards the 48-hour span - gives me an extra night for paint (and putty) to dry on certain parts. Thinking the pit would be done Friday, ready for full assembly and basecoating Saturday, camo job on Sunday morning...decaling and weathering Sunday night!

Wow, now that I type that, it's going to be a busy weekend!!! Tongue [:P]

Lots of people get the Friday after Thanksgiving off work so it would be best to set a loose start time Friday eve. Dupes picked 7 pm and that works for me.

Yeah...so I get to look at my StuG ALL DAY Friday while eating turkey leftovers....mmmm.  Actually that works well for me (a 7PM or so start time), I'll be watching the tiny terror (8 month old daughter) while the wife does the annual "Black Friday" sales dash.  I think I get the better end of the deal.

I'm stoked! I'll be out of town but in a good situation to work on this, although NO spraybooth and I have to plan AHEAD for everything I need. This is going to be FUN! The a/c is one color and I may be able to find a shaker can with the color (IJN gray is a very close match).

Bill, glad you can still participate and I hope everything works out for you.  Wouldn't be the same without you. Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Dupes, Andy, Matt, being a Canadian and all and given that we already celebrated Thanksgiving up here I forgot that it's an extended weekend for you guys south of the border.  I like the idea of starting Friday evening and going to midnight on Sunday night but I'll wait to hear from a few more participants to get their opinion before making any offical statement.

Well I got officially sucky news.  The woodroom (the department that I work in) is going to 12hrs on the weekends.  Sunday for sure and looking like Saturdays as well.  The weekend of December 5-6th is my long weekend, 4 days off.  So it is looking like I will have to withdrawl from this build.

Sorry, Kim

Thanks for that heads up bondoman.  I guess I didn't read it totaly. Dunce [D)] If our host will ok the weekend on December 5 or 6th that would be great.  Then I would stay in the build.  I would really like that, I got everything ready for it.  I got the kit, barrel, decals and paint ready and waiting in the box.

Once again thanks and I hope that our host agrees to the following weekend for me.Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Absolutely Kim!  We'd all love it if you would still participate when you are able to.  Having to work for a living is a pain in the Censored [censored]!  Like I said on the front page, just try to keep to the same time frame (at this point it looks like 53 hours) and within a week of the the actual weekend.

I have to drop out of this groupbuild.  It falls RIGHT before A finals week, and B when I have two massive term papers due, I will have negative free time.

Smeagol, sorry to hear that.  Any chance you would want to join Kim (moose421) on the weekend following (Dec 4,5)?  It would be a good way to unwind from all that stress!!

No, Dave is saying that some people may not be able to do this weekend (like Moose) and is opening up the GB to people who need to do it the following weekend instead. Same 48 hour build period, just not the same weekend.
