Bill, The bipe is a Spad 13C.1

Sure is, Bill! I first bought the kit about 18 months ago (originally for the Knights of the Sky GB), but that was one of the kits that was lost in moving out of my last apartment. So, I went and rebought it. It's the Spad 13c.1 from Testors in 1/48. I figured it would be a small and easy build for the weekend. Kinda fits for this GB, methinks!Wink [;)]

Not to worry all! I know to post pictures of an unstarted kit before beginning!

Warmest regards,

Roger

I have been digging through my stash looking for other possible ideas for this one.  So far came up with a 1/48 V-1, and a 1/144 Eurofighter Typhoon.  Any ideas fellas?

Does the V-1 come with a launcher?

The Eurofighter sounds cool.

Simon, welcome to the build.  I look forward to seeing your Hunter.

Frank, I'm with Roy, I think the Typhoon would be cool but I like your first choice too, the Zero.

OFFICIAL NOTICE!!!

I have not yet made an official decree about the start finsh time so here goes.  Since everyone's schedule and responsibilities differ there is no official start time.  However, the build will be limited to 48 hours, preferably over the Friday/Saturday/Sunday of November 28th to the 30th.  So, if you start at 5:00pm on Friday you must finish by 5:00pm on Sunday.  If you don't start until 11:00pm on Friday you have until 11:00pm on Sunday.  I would like everyone to have their completed build posted by Monday morning and even if it is not complete please post a picture of your progress at the end of the 48 hour period.

There are a few that because of other obligations plan to build outside of the official weekend, all I ask is that you also follow the 48 hour time limit rule.

That is all, go back to fondling your kits and planning your builds.

HEY OLLIE, have you decided on a build for this yet?  I just noticed that I haven't posted your choice of kit on the front page yet.  NO pressure, just wondering.

I'm getting those pre-wedding jitters! I am gonna clean up a bench and comfortable chair for this marathon! Still working on how I am going to get it all done and find time to pick on the BVD!

Frank I am really anxious to see you get going in this one! Usually takes  48 hours for you to prep the details on one 109 prop!  I am thinking he has beads of sweat forming on his forehead just thinking about it! Wonder where he went to? Somebody wake Nam up!  Time for coffee! I am thinking all you slow and procrastinating builders (like me) are curled up in the fetal position staring at the calendar!

I am surprised Guy (luftwoller didn't jump in Frank? 48 hours is like enough time for him to do a dozen or so super detailed models. Confused [%-)]

Did someone say CORSAIR?

Hmmm... I'm getting the feeling that some people are daring me to attempt a Corsair in 48 hours.  Are you nuts? Confused [%-)]

Aaron- Beads of sweat?  Do you have a camera hiding somewhere that I don't know about?

Frank do the Corsair...I'd love to see one done that quickly!  Plus if my a/b gets back in time I was going to join with a Tamiya V-1 and Eduard PE.  Big Smile [:D]

Cheers,
Alex

HI Guys

My progress may be posted earlier than others due to the time - zones here in Oz.

I must admit , I have cut the fuselage sides from the sprues previously, but that is all.

I'm in a dilemna, I can't decide to do the 'Black Arrows' all over black scheme ( easy paintjob - well no masking at least ) or the FTS scheme which is red grey and white...........hmmmmm if I do the Black Arrows I'll have to print a new serial number in red on clear decal, as the Xtra decals I have are incoreect and have  the tail code in white.......

I'll decide on a scheme during the week.

In the meantime - here's the kit.

Cheers

So I made the 180 mile roundtrip to the "local" hobby shop to buy some Russian paint colors for the weekend build. While I am standing there with the basket of paint one of the Sales clerks tells me all Model Kits are 10% off.......eh big deal barely covers the tax. But as I am looking there at the kits I start finding some really cool stuff. "Pro Modelers" out on the shelf, and even more old classic kits.. The manager comes up and tells me the same 10% pitch, then he tells me Thanksgiving weekend they are having a "Buy Two get one Free" model sale. He asked I would be able to make it, I told him No as I only make the trip about once a month due to the distance. So he tells me he would honor it today. So I found a 1/48 Revell Junkers JU52/3m, 1/48 Hobbycraft Dornier DO17-F and a old 1/48  Airfix (not remake) Mosquito MkVI - all 3 for $24.98 What a Deal Smile [:)]  The challenge was smuggiling all three boxes back to the truck as I told my Wife I only needed a couple jars of paint Laugh [(-D]

Nice haul Sean.  I hope you gave that manager a big hug for being flexible on the sale.  Your wife might not think so but it's so nice when they do stuff like that.

So which of those builds are doing for the Gb instead of the Pe-2? Wink [;)]
