Fantastic work on that interior, Sidure!  I stuggle to stay diligent on large complex interiors.  A single-seat cockpit is all that I can generally do without getting bored and annoyed.  I've been working on a Bell-212 helicopter for about a year, mostly because I've been stuck on getting the interior just right.  Finally finished the interior about a month ago and I'm glad to be getting on the body work that I enjoy much more.  Looks like you're getting close too.

I saw Tom Cruise's Valkyrie a couple days ago.  There are some great Ju52 shots in that movie.  Can't tell if they are CG or fully restored aircraft.

Dupes - awesome work on the 111

Sidure - nice interior on the Ju52, can't wait to see how it progresses.

Progress is slow on the USS Essex due to other commitments, mostly work and getting a Tamiya Universal Carrier + a pile of PE  ready for when myDad visits in 4 weeks. Here's a few photos from a couple of weeks ago - it hasn't changed much since then Disapprove [V]

arki - Wow~wee that Heinkel turned out Fantastic.Bow [bow] The canopy looks flawless to me also. You must have Superman Vision .. I am so impressed with that build, of course it doesnt hurt being one of my most favorite Aircrafts also. Very Nice job on the painting also. Approve [^]Thumbs Up [tup]  I need to pick up a few of the same kits now myself.Wink [;)]

The Saturn V is still in a flat under the bench. I need to make the trek to town and get some thicker sheet styrene to rebuild the body wraps as they seem to thin for my likings. How would I ever be able to run around in the backyard with it making whoosing noises to impress the neighbors...Whistling [:-^]

I am finally on the board with some progress!

Here is the instrument panel and HUD

The CAM cockpit came with a small fret of Eduard PE for the HUD and instrument face. This is the first time I have ever used PE or resin and I am pretty happy with the results.

very nice work guys glad to see the build is still alive. i am usually lurking checking in on you all .

gets a little discouraging still unable to build because of the living situation and rents are just crazy in NYC.

have been busy working on my own site to keep me in the hobby somehow but even that is a pain in the butt to build. if you get a chance come check it out www.hobbylinkinternational.com

i hope you are all doing well and god willing i will be able to build something soon

Nice looking instrument panel Paul - those upgrades obviously worked nicely.

I did  a few more bits on the Essex last night - added more fiddly bits to the hull. Essentially the lower hull is complete apart from paint. Next up is the island, deck and air wing. Not sure how to paint a camo pattern on the hull with all those recesses, guns etc on it. I am suspecting the use of tape, card and unusual profanities Censored [censored] may be the way forward?

Paul I, the panel looks great.  Keep the pics coming.

Paul II, I resorted to using the old fashion method for the camo on my Essex...  the brush! Thumbs Up [tup]

I've been slowly working on the Snowberry, hope to have something worthy of pics soon.

I wasn't planning on hand painting it Shock [:O]...I think I will have to mask off the fiddly bits and brush paint those later after airbrushing the big areas of the hull.

Rant On

Doesn't it just suck when you open a new jar of paint only to discover that you have a ball of rubber in there without a molecule of liquid to be seen??

I tried adding thinners and a small lead weight and shaking vigourously - I now have a few small pieces of rubber. I'll have to try and order some more or find something close to matching.

Mental note to self: when ordering paint online, open them as soon as I they arrive.

Rant Off

Thanks for listening!!

Raptor -  your NMF is looking great!  You're definitely on the right track with the panel variations.  Every little bit of variation you can add during any step of finishng a model just adds to the finished picture.  I think you will be pleased with the results when this comes together.  Very much looking forward to seeing.

Spring is just a bad time of year for me to be indoors Dead [xx(]  After the winter, I just want to be outside all the time.  I'm sure I'll get going soon when it gets unbareably hot outside mid summer.

Still plugging away on the 52. Been away from the bench for a few weeks but did manage some work. The fuselage is together and I have two roofs so they will not be glued down when complete to show two varients. Engines are done and into their nacells last night and hope to paint them tonight. The engines in this kit were sweet and went together very well. Nice job Revell. Might try to get the wings on tonight also

If all goes well construction will move faster now that all the detail fiddly bits are done and on to the painting

Sidure - that's one fine looking piece of Junk! Really nice all around. Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

The wood paneling on the inside - is that paint? Or did you use real wood? Either way, it looks pretty darn awesome.

Stellar progress, Sidure.  However, I have an issue with the wood paneling.  The size of the grain is waaaay out of scale.  That would be a gargantuan tree! Big Smile [:D]

Thanks for the comments guys I appreciate them. I did paint the wooden panell with progressive darker wood colours washes. Your right Arki it was indeed a gigantious tree indeed, the grain was molded in the piece. Must have been one of those german trees from the black forest heheheh. I painted some yellow on Monday, the rudder under wingtips and engine nacelles. Why do I have such trouble with yellow. On the fuselage it went great but the smooth engine nacelles it was a nightmare, too clear, too runny. I tried to build it up with misty coats slowly but it wasent covering and when it made progress it began to run, geeezzzz.

Steve the Junkers is looking real nice.  Nice job on the wood paneling (I'll buy the big tree excuse Wink [;)])  It's looking nice and busy in there. Thumbs Up [tup]

Andrew, that NMF is looking real nice too.  I've heard that alcad stuff is top notch.  May have to try a NMF one of these days.

As for me, finally got started on the Snowberry.  After many days and many cuss words later I finally got the hull to look presentable.  The four piece hull has been a real bear and the reason why I didn't finish it the first time.  Anyway, here's a couple of shots...

Putting on the anti-roll bars.  It's fun glueing straight objects on a curved surface. Dunce [D)]

The pile of dust on my desk after much sanding. Grumpy [|(]  (and that's only the dust from the final coat of putty)

The white is out of a rattle can.  Didn't put it on too thick so that it still looks a little off white with the grey underneath.

I've got the WEM paints for the Western approaches camoflauge but I don't think I'll get to it before we leave on holidays on Friday.
