Ok here we go then. Took an overall of the parts that are all painted and started to do some of the detail work on the interior.

Then there is the closeup of the IP. Some small work to be done here and future for the instrument faces

If you noticed in the first pic there are two roofs so I am going to build 2 versions where the tops can come off. One will have all the access and cargo hatches open if all goes well.

Sidure - that pit is looking good! I've got this bad boy in the stash (civilian version, though) so I have a good idea how massive it really is...that must have been an awful lot of paint. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Looking good Steve.  I bet my Snowberry will use more paint than yours though.  Whistling [:-^] I think I'll be investing in some rattle cans.

Sweet IP!  And that was a lot of RLM 02 through the airbrush.

Thanks guys, I used almost a full bottle of 02 on it and I am surprised the AB did not clogg up. it was a long session. I painted all of it because I am trying to get away from masking all the windows when it comes to the splinter camo. Figured this way I may only have to mask about 1/3 of them so while I was at it I painted the whole upper airframe. Another lesson I learnt on this kit was that capilary action is a lot of fun to deal with with a corrigated skin and the liquid glue wanted to run down every crevis on the wings. I filed out the glue with a diamond jewelrs file, now that was a exercise in fun.

Hahahha, yeah, I've been able to crank out quite a few other builds lately...more to come very shortly, as well. On a roll on the bench I guess! Big Smile [:D]

Taking a quick look at my build queue, I have a 1/48 Tamiya Corsair and 1/48 Monogram Me-109 which should both be finished this week...May 8-June 8 will be devoted to banging out a Cyber Hobby 1/35 251/2, followed by the remainder of my 1/48 Tamiya Hetzer (only a couple of days left there...may be able to wrap it up concurrently with the weathering stage of the 251). After that I was planning on finishing some stuff for the "No Excuses" GB - although, I may be able to come up with some sort of excuse if I try hard enough. Whistling [:-^]

AFTER THAT, I'm into my "end of year" build group, which includes a 1/48 Hobby Craft A-4C, a 1/35 Tristar Panzer IV B, and, of course, a 1/35 Academy AH-1W Cobra! So it'll be a little bit, but I'm still on it. Wink [;)]Thumbs Up [tup]

Thanks IL.  Decals are 50% finished, so still a little bit before I can put a flat coat on it.  Aside from a panel line wash, I won't weather it.  Not a big fan of weathering my builds, but I cheer on those who do. Make a Toast [#toast]

Some great work going into these builds, guys.  Look forward to seeing the finished products.  Believe it or not, I've actually made some progress on the Yak-15 but haven't had time for pictures.  I'll try to get up a couple this weekend.

Decals are on, Promodeller wash applied and flat coat shot.  Next is to carefully remove the window masks, install the torpedos and a handful of other antenna (i?).  I should have this wrapped by the end of this coming week.

Fini.  Here is the most voted for kit, 1/48 Monogram HE-111 H-4.  Nice kit overall, decals went down nicely, some typical Monogram fit issues but nothing that couldn't be overcome.  I have some typical dumb mistakes and areas I'm not entirely satisfied with, but I'm happy enough with it.

Except for the canopy.  Apparently some of the seams between the various canopy pieces were larger than I could see, or large enough when I shot the top color some paint made it into the interior.  Didn't realize it till I pulled the masks off and discovered tiny flecks of paint all over the inside canopy.  Censored [censored]  Still debating whether to risk pulling everything off to clean, or leave well enough alone. Censored [censored]

Sorry for the crummy photos, but she's too big to fit in the photobooth and I have several burnt out track lights I need to replace.  And as you can see I don't have a large enough blue background for her! Banged Head [banghead]Sigh [sigh]

I do recall the second most voted kit was the 1/48 Trumpeter Dolphin helicopter and I'm looking forward to it as it will be my first helicopter, but after I finish a couple of other builds first.

Thanks for looking, and thanks for the vote.  I'm glad to have it on the shelf (frickin frackin canopy and all). Big Smile [:D]

Holy smokes, Arki.  That is HOT!  The camo colors are dynamo.

I wouldn't sweat the canopy.  If the photos are any indication, you have nothing to worry about.

Beilieve it or not it is on the bench  (well sort of, it don't quite fit Shock [:O]).  I've been planning out how to fix the mid ship seams that put me off the first time.  the hull was in four pieces and the join up the sides was pretty ugly.  Anyway, I'll see about posting some pics soon.

Arki - AWESOME finish! Make a Toast [#toast] Somehow I failed to realize that this was the Monogram kit...makes it even that much better in my eyes.

Echoing IL2 - I don't think that the canopy issues are worth worrying about - in the photos (even with you mentioning it) you can't tell.

Great stuff, man! Big Smile [:D]

Thanks dupes!  I believe I'll leave the canopy alone too.  It's just not worth destroying it (and I will) to clean off the paint.

Stunning finish Arki. Its a great kit and you did a smashing job on it. The canopy looks great from here.

I have been plugging away on my JU-52 and the fuselage is ready to button up.

This one should start picking up speed with all the sub assemblies already completed.

Sidure - your '52 is looking great! That's a lot of interior there. Wow. Just like just about everything else in my stash, I can't wait to get to it! Going to be a really cool build.

wow sidure! That looks awesome!!!

Update on my MiG-29....I was getting ready to finish the cockpit when I noticed that the cockpit looks like crap.....so I just ordered a resin replacement for it from johnsmodels.com. This will be my first attempt at resin cockpits, so hopefully it turns out OK. I hope to have all the sub assemblies completed by the time the cockpit arrives so it is just a matter of assembling everything.

After dryfitting most of this kit.....I just have to quote Eric Cartman..."I hate you guys"

sadistic bastards.

Thanks Dupes and Paul, this is a real fun build so far and the detail and fit are great. I have carved out all the doors and hatches on this one and hope to pose them all open to show as much detail as possible. It comes with two roofs so I am building two versions one with the rear mounted MG and one withouth. I also opened up the roof hatch. The test fit so far show that I can get away withouth gluing the roof on so I can pose both versions if all goes well. There are a lot of duplicate sprues so there are almost two of everything except for the wings and fuselage. Another weird thing that shocked me was the decal sheet has the swastikas on it. Had no idea that Monogram did that with all the PC stuff going around, a very welcome bonus so I dont have to worry about finding the large swastikas for the tail.
