Wow Andrew you are really making some headway on the B-29. That is a hugh build and you are doing a great job on it. Keep up the great work.

What markings are you doing it in by the way.

Andreww, that's a beast of a kit but I'm impressed with what you've done so far.  Keep up the good work.

That B-29 is looking good - what's the wingspan on that monster???

Been flying through a 1/48 Hetzer for another GB...but will be done shortly, so I'll crank out that badge ASAP with the necessary changes. Glad you guys like it! Big Smile [:D]

Thanks Azgaron, Razor and Dupes! Much appreciated. The box said that the supermonsters wingspan is 25 inches or 64 cm.

Raptor, nice progress.  I wish you the best of luck finding a place to display it! Big Smile [:D]Whistling [:-^]

I've managed to clear a spot off the bench to start my build.  This is the 1/48 Monogram HE-111-H4/6 with Eduard PE, Squadron Vac canopy, Eduard canopy mask (an absolute must), and Quickboost exhausts.  Looking forward to this one!

Andrew - Such nice work and progress on the B-29 (I have been building one also ~ no where near as much done as yours)

Arki- You are building my Dream Kit, plus you got all the goods to go with it. I am envious Sigh [sigh] I have looked for years trying to find a 1/48 He -111 .

The Saturn V still gets a weekly rotation on the bench. The engine cones are some nasty castings with seams and pins that dont match the atachments that are suppose to fit in them. I believe once I get the lower stage done it should come along more smoothly.

Cool kit, Arki.  Those extras are really gonna make the difference: particulary the vac canopy on that plane.   I've developed a fairly reliable process for bonding those things in place, if you need any advice.

Rap, I've certainly been known to burn the midnight oil.  It's often the only time I have to work on my hobbies.  During the evenings I've got two young kids constanly chasing their dad around the house!

Yeah Summit!   SATURN V baby!  So glad to hear you are making progress.  I was at the Seattle Museum of Flight yesterday and saw a ~1:72 scale model of a saturn5 next to some of the earlier rockets: the redstone for example.  The size difference was really staggering.  I thought of your build right away.  They had the Apollo7 capsule too.  That museum is truly one of the finest flight museums I have visited: certainly on par with the Smithsonian, IMO.

So, now I can get started pretty soon! Big Smile [:D]

Managed a little bit of work on the cockpit.  This is barely scratching the surface of the PE in the Eduard set, but quite a bit of it is pre-painted so I'll wait to install after painting.

Wow Arki, that pit is looking awesome.  Those little levers on the control panel between where the seats go must have been a real pain.  Shock [:O]

Yes, there was much cursing under breath trying to get those dang things located.  In general I hate those little PE levers as once everything is buttoned up they disappear.  But I do them anyway hoping to learn patience if nothing else.  Zen through PE! Nice work Arki!

I've finally started with my Bf 110! While trying to figure whats what with the PE, I started with the engines!

The only problem is that the holes in the pipes should be square!

Cheers,

Azgaron

Thought I give a brief update on the HIND. Going is slower than I wanted it to be, just so many things to do and so little hours in the day but I am having a good time with this build. The Eduard detail set is excellent but it does slow me down a little bit. The cockpit is coming together and I should start painting it shortly.

The basic cockpit, nothing glued in yet.

Starting to add in the Eduard detail set here. I received a Mission Models ETCH MATE 3C for Christmas and it really comes in handy and I would recommend it for your hobby bench.

The rightside cabin area.

With the Eduard set install which adds to the interior but looking at actual photos of the HIND interior there is still a lot lacking in areas which I will try to correct, at least it's a starting point. Of course this is when a build really bogs me down in just how far do I go until I'm happy with it?

Does anyone knows where I can find the Russian Blue/Green paint used in the Russian cockpits?I tried using Model Master #2135 but it's no match.

It finally happened. I was at the hobby shop today, and thought to myself....boy, I should look into getting some paint for the MiG cockpit....I just laid down a base coat of Model Master "USSR Interior blue/green". I'll post some pics when I have something to show

Nice bit o' work there, Arki.  I can imagine that was a challenging little stretch at the bench, eh?

Archangel and Azgaron - you guys look like you are making some pretty steady progress.  Nice work.

Dupe - THAT is going to be one monster build, isn't it?  Good times, my friend, good times...
