Historically, it was the first true combined arms invasion ever attempted, using seaborne and airborne forces by any nation- the shape of things to come. Airfield and port seizures, follow on forces, etc.

Mein gott! Mein gott!!! Wow!

Excellent!

Love it!

I won't say much more! Smile [:)]

By the way, lads!!!

9th April is coming rapidly.  Then the invasion of Norway started. So in two months, Norway will be totally occupied. If we were in 1940, that is.

As said, it was the first military operation German had where all branches were included.

Big day for military history, bigger day for this GB! Pirate [oX)]

Jay, that is coming along real well! I really like the "squiggle" camo over the dark green on the fuselage sides.

Well after a long day of masking and painting here some pics the bottom is just blue so I didn't take the tape off.  I am very pleased with the way it came out

J, your condor is coming along very nicely! I can not wait to see ehr all built up and painted. I have always loved the lines of that big bird! Very sinister, yet graceful.

Jmart, Glad to hear that operations will begin shortly from the "Mancave". LOL Hope the water heater trouble didn't cause any problems with the supply depot(stash).

Best investment I ever did: buy some heavy duty plastic garage shelves at home depot... but used them as "pallets" for the stash (and other stuff), bringing everything 2-3 inches off the floor... saved almost everything from getting wet  :)

Hello Jay, The Condor is impressive. A large aircraft with a good range if I'm not mistaken. Nice job on the interior and the exterior is looking good as well.

Hope to get a start on the FW by the weekend. I think I have all the colors in stock.Confused [%-)] The Tamiya color guide calls out XF-22 RLM grey mixed with XF27 Black green at a ratio of 3:2, Is this supposed to be RLM74 Grey green?

Hey jay12472, I ordered my FW190 A8 last week and expected it here by the weekend. It hasn't showed yet. Looking forward to starting that one as the Butcher Bird is one of the top 5on my WWII props list. Hope to see updates of your progress.

Glad to hear that, Mobious! Can't wait to see another plane from the occupationforce.. Wink [;)]

I myself have only done two planes.. I have two WIPs now. This and an IL2. Really, I have only 4 planes that are built/WIP.. Except some others that I built as a little kid tough... But ya, I'm sure you've built more than me! Smile [:)]

Anyways.. A little update from the hoster himself.

A little profile picture I got in a book. You can see it's depicted with a silver drab. But I'm so afraid of metallics on such a big surface that it has to wait Tongue [:P] I say my light grey looks good..

You can also see the nose depicted gold. But the other picture I posted once, No. 423, has a black nose..

And I painted the nose brass.

Well, I started striping. Also note the metalic on the nose. Masked and fixed!

I found a nice position of the striping, which was the RNoAF 1937-40 markings. Masking the position and start painting..

And then cutting the maskingtape into smaller stripes. No idea why, as it's unesecery. But good practise !

Then the white:

Then the finished..  The maskingtape "leaks" a little, so I had to touch up with the brush. All in all, 2 hours of work. I have also done the underside, Went a little quicker. Do note aswell, I have made the blue stripe slightly thicker, so it looks better.

[EDIT] Ahh.. Forgot to mention.. I have painted the plane in a light grey overall, as you see!! Smile [:)]

That was it from me! Some steps closer to the badge! Big Smile [:D]

Hey huxy, I plan on getting the FW 190 under way soon. Going to be crossing my fingers with this one. I've only done a couple of the WWII aircraft. Looking forward to getting started.

Hey Jay, The condor is looking great. Love the interior shots, very nice.

Huxy, IMO I would go with the silver, and shade with either gray, or a blue/grey. Dullcoat, then use thinned future lightly applied on the metal surfaces (just to get a semi gloss).

 Looking forward to updates.

Dostacos, please, scale and manufacturer?

And people!!!

Does that look OK? I don't want to do the metallic drab on mine.. I don't know why, I just don't feel for it.. So this light grey look OK to me.. What do you guys think?

I would like to be added to the list. a Krupp Protze with a pile of junk in the truck and maybe towing some flak gun all in 1/48 will be using the Black Dog resin AM parts.
