I think Guy did a similar  color for his 262 build. The red came from the Revell Germany kit box art.  The silver to represent the  high maintenance those  engines demanded.

It  does grab my attention. Might try one of the pro-modeler or the Revell kit someday as it seems to have a much deeper and more accurate detail.

Speaking of detail I was able to find the He -177A-5 Greif

This kit is really something else. Big!  Has lotsa resin replacement parts. Lots.... It's own mask set and everything you would expect from the Hi Tech kit claim.

 The Profiles are neat.

And the instructions are a thick booklet! You can see the high parts counrt and the amount of parts replaced with the resin castings which are really good quality. Got those  guided missles included as well which was mentioned Thumbs Up [tup]

This is no weekender for sure!  The pit itself has more parts than the Hobby Craft 234 I just built!  This is going to be a fun one!  Hope the fit is decent!

Hey boys! Just wanted to drop in and let everyone know I'm still kickin'! Had a bunch more tests done and the Doc says I'm good on all of the really bad things. Apparently my nerves are a bit frazzled so I need some meds to calm me down and some rest. My stomach was churning out acid like crazy and tearing itself up that is why I was in so much pain. Hopefully these meds will even me out and get me going agian. Thank you everyone for the good whishes. I really appreciate it.

Once agian I leave for a bit and you crazy people are at it agian. Old Sarge has cranked out another multi engine subject in a couple of days and Guy has taken to using liquid cement as a decal solvent? I had to read back 4 pages just to figure out what was going on. Hopefully my hands will be steady enough by this weekend so I can get back to the bench and building with you nuts agian!Big Smile [:D] My 262 masks are here and I am really looking forward to laying some paint down on it.

SC -  Would that be work stress acting up your Nerves ?

I am Glad to see you back on the grid. We were getting a search party and needed gear to do a rescue mission.  Frank delayed us as he needed to paint a new spiral on Charlene. I offered to bring a snow shovel in case we needed it but those old guys and their machines voted that idea down.

No pressure from us for you to get back on the 262..  Although if your hands are still shakey Sarge might contract you to paint his Grief as it has a scheme for that crazy squiggle design .

Sure is Steve. There are two releases by MPM of this kit. I would def recommend getting the High Tech version as the extras are well worth the little extra in price. Can't buy all that stuff for the price diff.

Also CMK Models offers 3 sets as a detail improvement.  There is an engine set, an undercarrage set and an armanment set which is basically an empty bombbay. There website sells them for around $50 each. So $150 is a little rich for my blood I am afraid and the work already involved in this kit is formidable.  Get this there is two pages of step zero.  Yep step zero to get you ready for step 1? Jeeze what have I jumped into?  Resin clean-up and PE!  Extc!  A build after our greatatcious and mojoliness leader's heart!  You know before he used  liquid cement for decal set and such. ..... second thing that goes they say...Laugh [(-D]

Step zero eh ? Well I am still in the running lead I guess. I have been on step one of the Condor for three days... But I am kinda slow and have a few distractions like bio homework for the FAA gb . Taking the reins of a Top Secret Shipping to Torment another person.Mischief [:-,] Then there are the two mischievous cats that make me walk around the house with a holstered spray bottle like Wyatt Earp... Cowboy [C):-)] But I am almost to step two - maybe tomorrow Laugh [(-D]

Thanks Sean. It has taken alot of years and many stressfull situations in my life to frazzle my nerves. I've seen alot of bad stuff in my day and it all slowly catching up with me now. I'll get better with some meds and some time I'm sure. Besides is'nt being a little crazy one of the requirements to be in this GB?

Sarge believe it or not I do not even drink coffee. Never had a cup in my life. I do'nt smoke or drink either. I do love my tea like our fearless leader though. Herman does look quite worried though does'nt he. Tell him not to worry I will kick his rear any day.Big Smile [:D]

Richie thanks for the welcome back buddy. Just posting with all of you here makes me feel much better already. Now if I finish the 262 and it comes out sweet then I will be very happy.

You fellas are certainly making some great progress over here!

Crusher- good to see you out and about my friend, hope your meds are able to even you out a bit.  Now, stop going to the hospital and scaring us like that!  Pretty soon, the Sarge is gonna drive up to CT to keep a close eye on you!

Guy- Good save on the decals, and thanks for the warning on the Barracuda Decals.  I nearly bought some for a Spitfire, but will not now.

Aaron- Excellent work on the -234, cool camo for sure!  I don't believe that I have seen the 4-engine version built up before.  Love that Greif too!  I shall watch for your progress on that one. Thumbs Up [tup]

Sean- You are making steady progress on your Condor!  Office is looking sweeeeet! Big Smile [:D]

Glad your out and about Micheal. Also glad to read your a tea drinker as well. With quallys like that you deserve to be knighted. (Another British tradition) If you send me your addy, ill get you some proper English tea to help you recoup.

Aaron, that Grief looks excellent. I so need one of those. All that resin and extra goodies. Your making me jealous and that just wont do. I bought the etched set for my JU. A bit pricey but i feel it will be worth it. The jug is on its final finishing. Ill post a pic here 1st, as always.

Sean I am really loking foward to seeing you build that beastie. I have one stashed away too for a rainy day.

Sarge as you can see all of this clean living did'nt do me a spit of good did it! The only good thing was all of my pals new I did'nt drink so I was always invited to all of the parties to be the designated driver! Plus while they were all drinking up it was much easier to for me to chat up all of the women while they were acting like fools.

Guy I will take you up on your offer for some of that spendid tea. Knowing how serious you chaps are about your tea I am sure it is some of the best around! Do they knight Irishmen in England? I thought you Brits just mad fun of us!Pirate [oX)] What might my title be? PM inbound there O fearless leader of the Regia Aeronautica GB.

Frank thats a cracker of a GB badge. Looks spot on to me! Lets see if our fearless leader appoves.

Bondo - Thats a Real Beauty Tongue [:P]  I cant wait to see you work your magic on this one.  That will be a nice addition to your "flying boat" collection.

On another subject I was looking at a 20 yr old Scale Modeler yesterday on a write up about the "Mavis"  after seeing how well yours turned out and reading about one - I might have to pick one up now..

Looks like SC is out and about... welcome home! Stay well will ya?

Nice 234, Aaron! Thumbs Up [tup] That Hobby Craft kit doesn't look too bad. The Grief is going to be awesome to say the least!

Sean is building another big one and looks like Mr. Bondo takes the multi-cake! Wow is that thing big! I gotta say though, you always seem to find the planes that are very appealing to the eyes... kinda like my handsome mug! Big Smile [:D]

I hope your lordship Guy will accept my puny two engine bird for his sub group build. Blush [:I]

And look what finally made it's way to my bench and out of the box...

The CR-42 float plane has begun! Yaaaaayyyyyy!!! Party [party]   I will work on it sporadically (is that a word?) while I drag out my helicopter build for all eternity. Sigh [sigh]

Holy cow that thing looks bigger than the 1/48 scale Grief! A smorguesborg of styrene! Tongue [:P]

Did you get new glasses? I always wondered what happened to Harry Potter?Pirate [oX)]

SC!  Just think how bad off you'd be without clean living!  Nothing wrong with that. You may be surprised how many here actually feel the same way!

Frank!  Nice badge!  A Condor?  Woo Hoo!

What is Guy building again?  I swear he is slower than molasses in January! Soul Crusher  you needto toss him a Flintstones Vitamin!  Or Veetamen as the English say!  If your out maybe Frank can spare some Geritol.

Sean!  Maybe if we talk real nice to El Bondo he would show another piccie of that Mauvis!  I really liked it as well!

So How far have you got on the Condor yet?

I am still officially on step zero!  This thing is actually reminding me of one of Chuks builds. Banged Head [banghead] A little bit every week... Still faster than I have seen some Corsairs completed over at the FAA.Whistling [:-^]

By popular demand. Hasegawa Kawanishi H6K Mavis 1/72 scale. Highly recommended, although it's a bit of a trick. But after getting the Stranraer together this one wasn't too scary in hindsight.

The BIG BV is a little smaller than a Martin Mars, and a little bigger than an Emily. So I get Guy points for 6 mills I hope, oh acey one. The camo scheme is splinter, with a freehand overcoat of whitewash camo for one particular operation. I'll do the splinter and decide if I want to do the white, but i think it looks way cool and unique.

Bondo - Thank You So Much for reposting the Mavis .. That has to be one of my most favorites out of the builds I have seen of yours. (disclaimer - I do miss a bunch on the forums also)

Wow ~wee that is just plain beautiful... Approve [^]

I think you should do the white over the splinter as it will give you a good medium for your weathering skills Thumbs Up [tup]

Bow [bow]  Bondo, wow, what a kit. Ive seen that one regularly in the LHS but always been too afeared to pick it up. Shes a whopper. But what a fantastic subject...and 6 Motors to boot. Have a 1000 Ninja points on me. It would have been 2000 if tit was Italian, ah well you win some , you lose some LOL. Great pics, again of the Mavis. I have to concur with Sean. It is definately one of your best and impressive builds...but saying that i loved your Gabbiano as well. Good man.

Frank, You Are The Man We Are Not Worthythat badge is the biz. Everyone. Get it in your Sigs...STAT!!!

Aaron, you are my 1st official finisher in the AotM GB. Your 234 was perfect..well, nearly. It needed a few more propellors but hey, who cares. You can get away with anything in my book.

SC, So glad you back in the land of the living. As for mocking the Irish. Geez we'd never do that Whistling [:-^] Isnt there a statistic about that reckons there are more Americans of Irish desent, than Irish in Ireland?
But in saying that, i have to let you in on my favourite Irish joke...How do you burn an Irishmans ear?......Phone him while he's Ironing!!! A box of our finest English Recouperation tea, winging its way to you for Chrimbo, my lad.

Jeremy, fantastic choice of the 88. There were so many versions of that sucker. I like that one, with the glazed peanut in the front. Also, great to see your setting into the floater. Remember those struts  Afraid and no tears. Havent you finished that bleeding egg beater yet? I have an idea whats slowing you up on it though. Has it got a spinner spiral on the blades? Thats usually what slows Frank up for a year or 2 Whistling [:-^].

Right all, Please go and check the front page to see if all builds are present and correct. If not, all blame Dave!!....oh and let me know.
