The two oil coolers is all that I noticed so far. In a earlier build (aaron i think) is where I thought they were weird looking. There are a lot of these aircraft that have the same lines and Im not sure if I could make them out on recognition cards

This would be the look- apparently Aeromaster is your daddy.

http://www.modelingmadness.com/reviews/axis/luft/109/rolandellig14.htm

None on eBay none in Google that I can find.

Dragon sells a 1/144 Tornado with a version of that, gee thanks Bondo.

BTW a good looking shoal of decals:

1/72 there is an F-84, but you knew that. Vexing, but a great hunt is on!

Well I am pretty sure I must be going crazy because I am went throught my stash looking for a second subject for the GB and I pulled out my Classic Airframes Iman Ro 37. The detail included in this kit is pretty nice right down to the photo etch wire wheel hubs.  Now I know being a short run kit it is going to be a project and with all of the detail it will probally put me in my grave but I feel the need to build this cool overlooked airplane. So am I crazy? here are a couple of pics. What do you think?

I want to model Marco in the middle. It's actually an Ima"m" Ro. CA blew it.

Thanks bondo!

The hunt continues... so far I have tracked down a few sets that I thought might work, but apparently they are OOP. Sigh [sigh]

Crusher that Iman is gorgeous. You so need to do this build asn well. Also well done in sorting the homework out as well. Almost verging on the creeping. If thats an apple in the box by the door then its lines for you young man.

As for the diffs between the 202 and the 205, ill have a look later in my 205 book. I think it has the info in there. Im off to my monthly model club meet tonight. Im taking my little MC 200 and my DVII from Franks KOTS II gb.

Frank, heres the decal you wanted. I realise that this link is from a competitors publication but it offers free downloadable decals that may be of use to those that can print decals. The decs are for a Fiat G55 but im sure they are pretty usefull to other similar sized/ era planes.

The main differences between the 202 and the 205 as I understand it is the uprgarded engine.  I believe the 202 had the licence built DB 601 and the 205 had the licence built DB 605 around which the Reganie 2005 and the Fiat G55 were also designed.  Hence the similairities in the profiles between the three and the change in oil coolers between the 202 and the 205.

The other major difference between the 202 and the 205 was in the armament.  the 202 had two small caliber machine guns and two larger caliber machine guns whereas the 205 was upgraded to three 20mm canon with one firing through the hub (hence the flattened spinner Sean) and two in the wings.  It also kept the two larger caliber machine guns.

Well Guy I guess I can not refuse a request from you so I will have to build it now. The detail and number of parts in this kit is incredible. It should build into a nice model. I am sure it will be a major PIA to build but it will look so cool when it is done. I do have to get a good start on my Knights of the Sky GB entry first though. It started over a month ago and I have not even started my Fokker D VII yet. I just have to add the strut rods and glue the canopy on the RE 2000 and she is done. Hopefully that will take place tonight.

Frank any luck on the decals yet. I want to see some more progress pics! Especially the prop and spinner!

Guy-

I checked out that link and all I can say is

I love Guy, hes so cool and ace an all, i wish i was his son...

Very cool stuff, and they even had the badge I needed!  I printed out three copies of the decal I needed, so I have extras JUST IN CASE when the time comes.  Thank you THANK YOU!

Thanks Aaron for the offer, I think I have it covered! Big Smile [:D]

SC- Progress pics?  Not much to see I'm afraid.  Just hours and hours of fitting, checking, priming, repeat.  I'm off this weekend, so I plan to get lots done! Thumbs Up [tup]

Finished up the Re 2000 tonight. I added the tiny strut rods for the landing gear. Glued the canopy on and finall the lower gear cover and thats all she wrote! here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Now I'm heading over to the Knights of the Sky GB to finally get started on my Fokker.

Guy I promise as soon as I get a good start on the Fokker I shall return and dazzle you with the Ro 37!

SC- Now THAT is a beautiful build!  Love the lines of that fighter, and yours is absolutely gorgeous!  Always loved a red-head. Approve [^]

Thanks for the pics, and I'll see you over at KOTS II! Big Smile [:D]

Alex- Thanks for that link!  If I could get my hands on some white numerals, I might consider going that route as well.  I have the unit badge, and a couple of white numbers but not enough to build that one.  I considered using the ones I have to make up an aircraft, figuring that if there was a real "white 14" there might have been a "white 15" as well.  But, without finding a photo or profile, I shall continue on with my quest.  Thanks again for the link, very inspiring work! Approve [^]

Crusher, shes a honey my friend. Your excluded from homework for the duration of your KOTS build. I built a DVII for Franks build. Its a cracker as well. Is yours the Eduard kit? If it is, it really is a great kit. Anyhoo, we will wait for your return with baited breath. We might have a Group outing over to Franks KOTS gb to heckle from the sidelines.

P.s i took my mini MC 200 to my Model club and they all loved it. I was well chuffed. LOL. (Chuffed is a good thing btw)

Oops my fault! It's Cybermodeler:

http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/it/kit_it_10015.shtml

The other day i was driving to work and listening to sports talk radio.

"Let's go to Dave in Hayward. Go ahead Dave".

"Hey guys, how's it going? Wanted to talk about the game last night."

"Hey Dave, where are you calling from right now?"

"I'm driving a school bus full of kids on I-880".

"Click"- dial tone. Sheesh, some people.

First thanks to everyone for the kind words. I really enjoyed building this kit. For a short run kit the fit was pretty good and no major headaches are invovled to build this bird. The engine being to large to fit in the cowl was the only glarring fit issue and this is not very hard to fix. Either sand down the clyinder heads a little shorter or sand down the top of the heads, you can't see them anyway once  the engine is in the cowl.

Guy yes it is the Eduard kit. I purchases the dual combo version. Not sure why. Either I was afraid of breaking something and I wanted spares readily avalible or I wanted to build two of the same plane in two different paint schemes. I guess I will know the answer when I start on it tonight or tomorrow. I will keep my word and shall return to build up that cool Ro 37. Man there are alot of little parts on that bugger. I think Aaron would like this kit. There must be over thirty pieces just for the cockpit!

SC- That is a Fantastic looking build, I can hardly wait for you to get back with your next build. Thumbs Up [tup]

This should be called what I did not get done to the Cant Z today. Over the years I have saved what I thought was cool looking model boxes. I spent most of the day cutting them out .. I have started appyling them to the wall behind my work area. Still more to go .

Wall Sorry for getting off topic of the build.

Pretty cool wall mural you got going there Sean.  There is some nice classic art work on that wall.  Did you actually build that big airfix 0-400 kit?  At one time I was saving the box tops too but they got lost or thrown out somewhere along the line.  I just may have to start a new collection.

Did you see that one guys wall in the General discussion area/workbench photos that actually had the boxes mounted on the wall amoungst the old model adds.  That had a nice 3D effect.

Thanks guys, it looks much brighter, the lights were refecting off no matter how I adjusted them.

Dave- Yeah I saw that room, very nicely done. I was thinking about that as I have  a box with about 10 lbs of instructions that I have saved since I was a kid.(dont ask me why)

I did build that Airfix Handley Page along with a Airfix Sunderland back sometime in 1992 maybe ? I am sorry to say the builds were not that great as my skills were way primitive then. (back in the ambroid tube glue era Dead [xx(]

I would really like to build both of them again and try to do better. So If anyone has one either stashed away let me know...

Hey Sean, that is such a cool idea. As a ritual after every build, i hole punch the instructions and file them. I think now ill save some of the cooler looking box tops. I noticed on the bottom right you have the Matchbox Ju 188. I built that sucker as a kid. Oh the memories.

ou get teachers pet award for the great idea and reminissing.

Guy - I just built that last month to post over on the UAMF (Greggers forum) here is a pic of the finished model.

MBJ-7 You like Matchbox kits still - I do and try to build at least one a month . Great projects while I am waiting for paint, cement or putty to cure..

Frank - try to remember a few of the kits you built, I most likely have one here that I will send you so you can reverse the aging clock. (I have no jets just prop jobs)

Slow progress again today, got the second rudder in place and making sure it stays where I want it.

rudder Might be a good day to crack open a Matchbox myself..
