Thanks guys!!! i am endeavouring to try and get more than one done this year. Have three on the bench atm, and hope to get them finished and well progressed if not finished. I love GB's seeing your peers' work inspires you to keep going, and the lot that is on these GB's is inspiration in itself. My hat is off to you all!!
Looking forward too seein it finished Bob...
My P-40 just needs the gun sight 'enhanced' and attached, along with the canopy & some minor details painted. However, we are leaving for our annual trek to the beach....should have it finished about an hour after I get started......whenever that is....
Cheers
Bob
Excellent job, Richie. I don't know how I missed this one...Hats off to you!
Darson: Just a note that I'm still at work but with less than a week to go I'm going over the finish date. Hopefully I'll have her done before too much longer. Will try to get some photos up of what I have finished.

Thank you Frank, your too kind!! On the feedback list I got an EXCELLENT on the Finish, Very Good construction and good on everything else. So in a nutshell, OH YEAH I'm proud of this one.
Beautiful work Richie, glad to see this one finished up! You should be rightly proud of this build.
Frank
I agree, I tried to portray a plane that was well used but yet had many missions to go. Really, combat aircraft from all sides during WWII were kept very well in working order and maintained. A true meaning, as far as weathering, a little goes a long way!
Yeah i'll have to try the pencil method, i really like the results...I still chip with the salt method and i use my scribe facing backward for smaller chips, it looks good on an NMF but it's a little too strong an effect with a camo job....
Thanks guys!!! Julez it was done by a pencil yes, Lyra Super Ferby. almost like a pastel pencil I'd say. As long as it will leave the appropriate marks with little effort any silver pencil should work, I would avoid normal coloring pencils as the 'lead' is much too hard.
The contest Darson and I helped judge last night is another big success. Over 630 entries, and was there till 11pm. Will be going back monday for the swap and sell and then will be taking pics. Will post some soon.
Very cool build Sim i've taken a bit of a shine to floatplanes and have my eye on Italeris Arado in 48.....How did you do the chipping was it a prismacolor pencil??? Well done and thanks for sharing
Wow, she looks great! Great finish, weathering, all around great job!
Well fellers I'm stickin' a fork in this one. Going to the contest later today, and I'm Not perfect by any means but I'm happy with it for being such an old kit. Here's a couple pics. Will get a few more in a couple days. Had some of the port side but were blurry. Anyways Enjoy!
Looking good Sim, I love Tamiya smoke, great stuff!
Thanks for the info Sim, i'll give it a try on my next camo job....
Thanks Julez and Darren!!! Really wasn't quite sure what to expect from the smoke, but must say, thin as normal for Tamiya and when you start to see the effect STOP!!! Pull back and take a big picture look, and adjust as necessary. I left the effect on the Jake the way it is because the exhaust stacks set a bit proud of the airflow and would not get the full heat effect as say an F4U-4B would from Korea with exhaust stains almost from stem to stern. The color is spot on and will surely be using it more often.
Richie lovely work with the shading subtle but effective, nice job.
Mac great looking dio.
Looking really good there Sim, I love that smoke effect....Have heard a few things about it but this is the first i've seen, please tell more mate
Well I have been really acting like a snail finishing this Jake but have shot a bit of Tamiya X-19 smoke and for using it for the first time I am impressed!!! It got just the effect I was after. Will be surely using this more in the future (pardon the pun)
Mac, very nice dio

Hey there Metalicus I have to agree, what more do you need to do on the Mitchell as shee looks mighty fine just the way she is.

Metal the Mitchell is looking great!!!!
Stik your Hellkitty is looking SUHHHWEEEET!!!!!
Great work gents this is cool, 2 of my favourite aircraft coming together......
Metalicus, your Mitchell is looking great! What else are you planning to do on her?
As for me, I had to perform some dental surgery on the Kitty today. The upper center tooth in the cowl scoop must have shifted during the drying process, so I had to re float it with Micro Set (quite a bit) and position it properly. If it dries in the right spot this time I can hit her with dullcoat on my next airbrushing session.
