Brought glue today, but might not get to build. I have gotten a lot of the resin ready, done some cutting to open up the access plates and get the turret ring to be closer to the right diameter for the interior and dry fit a lot of stuff.

WAIT! I'm IN for the study hall schedule today!! I think I'll bring the kit to study hall and put bogie assemblies together... the glue smell drives the kids nuts, which gives me a real warm fuzzy during the last class on a Friday! (take a class kids, not a study hall! moowahahaha!)...

What's wrong with a little FS Number?!Wink [;)]

As long as you don't do TWO FS Numbers then you are OK.Blush [:I]

But two FS Numbers.......Well, we all know that leads to THREE FS Numbers........and then to FOUR FS Numbers.......and then before you know it...............

Your an FS Numberaholic!!![:0][:0]

And then you have to go to the FSNA meetings with ME!!!![:0][:0]

Does anybody have pictures of IDF tankers during the the 60's? I have a IDF modern tank crew kit and a U.S. WWII tank crew set, but doubt either is correct for this time period. Any help would be appreciated...

If I recall correctly, IDF tankers wore OD green coveralls with the reconditioned WWII US tanker helmet (IDF tan). There are some good photos in an old book entitled 'Great Tanks of the World'... Chamberlain?

JoAnne wants to model an M4A3 with a 'unique' camo scheme. The Korean War 'Tiger' scheme came to mind, but I don't think I want to let her tackle that pesky indi link track in the DML Dragon M4A3E8 verion. Heard it was a pain.

Any suggestions on unique M4A3 (75mm, wet) schemes? I was thinking winter ETO 1944.

Mike - didn't your references show that the sinkhole in the center of the drive sprocket isn't really a sinkhole but is supposed to be there.

Frosty - how much can MoMA handle for you at one time.

Ron - isn't Joanne doing a Marine Corps Sherman? I think they had some interesting schemes ... I'll have to see what I can find.

Thanks, Ron....

You also reminded me of a book I've had for ages but forgotten about....The Great Tanks and it has a section on IDF armor from the 60's - early 70's.

Ya know.........German armor isn't this tough.... sink holes in the drive sprocket. Ha! I'm thinking more like a starter hole for an 88 round.

Most are a little oversized ... there should be a pihole right in the center of the drive sprocket.

Your on the money Robert.

I've always filled them and then redrilled them to a smaller diameter.

I want to play too. Sorry, I can't , but I will be watching for what I'm sure will be some really great builds. Good luck all. What seems to be the most popular build going? If I were to have joined, I would have liked to build Academy's new M-10.

Well, the BARV is making progress.

I've got the upper hull, lower hull, and final drive housing together.
The hull sponsons have been filled.
The suspension is about 90% put together.

Right now I'm filling seams and cleaning up body work. Once that's done I'll shoot a primer coat to make sure there is no more body cleanup needed.

Then comes the real work. Getting all the little fiddly parts together.

Well did find out something else while poking through the parts for the Ram. It seems that they used Tamiya's Lee / Grant M3 suspension for their guide. They followed them a little too closely and included the same WRONG 6 -spoke roadwheels that come with those old kits (should be 5-spoke). Thank goodness for the parts box.

If one of my parts boxes is 90% filled with Sherman Parts, then I figure Rogert has to have at least THREE Sherman Parts boxes!

Robert, is it too late for me to join the group build? I decided not to do a diorama on this kit. Being the first armor in 30 years I'd just be happy to get it together oob. Although I want to add an aftermarket barrel. Who makes a good one for the early M4 and where can I get it? Thanks.

Never too late Tim. Good to have you on board !!!

I take it you're building the Tamiya M4 kit, please correct me if Im wrong.

A very good 75mm barrel for this kit is made by Jordi Rubio. I use them all the time. As far as good suppliers in the states, maybe some of the other guys can give you a good source. If not, I'll give you a Canadian one that's very good.

Thanks Latch, but I have enough going on right now, especially with the Panther build going. I have a Hellcat, but that was shot down to make for this build. I'm not going to buy a kit until i finish at least one. LOL
