M7 "Priest" reference photos for anyone interested, let me know if there are any problems. I apologize for referring to it as an M4 variant earlier, I usually build German armor. Although it does appear to be an M4 chassis (sorry, if it's not a PzKpfw. I have no idea).

shermanfreak, I am ordering some figures from Milicast for my 1/72 scale models. If they work with the M10, I will do that. If they don't, I will build the Sherman.

dostacos - did he confirm that or was he still in the thinking phase?

Yes we have been emailing each other. He has his "fez head" and camp girls. he is doing the scene where Kelly first meets Oddball's band of merry men

Canadian M4A2 in Normandy.

That picture looks like they killed that Sherman about 10 times.

So if each hit was a different tank, that might explain the kill ratio differential.
They INFLATED there stats Big Smile [:D]

gnsnow - The original M7 may have been based on the M3 ... but all subsequent improvements and variations were based on the M4 standards ... so no reason to appologize.

As for the version that you have photographs of it is the M7 B1, which was based on the M4A3 Sherman.

Thanks for the pics, they're great !!!!

7 confirmed hits on this side alone, from the O.R. they were from a 75mm PAK A.T. gun.

scubaboy99 - sounds good to me ... let me know when you have it nailed down.

one day away from the official startup, & folks r getting antsy !

i have been looking at my kit 4 the past few days & thinking about
how i'm going to do the m32 arv conversion...
then yesterday when i got home, there was my box from squadron w/
not only my Tuskeegee Airmen dio stuff, but an extra tech 1/72 M36 jackson w/ resin & p/e... such temptation is kinda unfair! Evil [}:)]Evil [}:)]Evil [}:)]Wink [;)]Wink [;)]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

in the end, i think i'll go ahead w/ the ARV, since there r already a couple of
jacksons planned 4 the group build & it doesn't look like anyone else is
doing the m32.
vive la difference !
who's gonna b up building at midnite (besides DT) ? LOL...

Frosty, I might get up early here and give my Ambutank a start, before it's even the 15th where you are...!

But of course, Dwight might out-do me anyway! LOL

Hmmmm ..... that's right ..... we never did say which time zone we were going to use did we.

Now Dwight has the jump on us .... I don't really think it's fair that he get's to touch his Shermie before the rest of us get to touch ours !!!!!

So NEWS FLASH from Sherman Control Central !!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen .... start your engines !!!!!

I want to hear those Continental R975 Radial Engines whirring !
I want to hear those G.M. 6046 twin Diesels roaring !
I want to hear those Ford GAA's throttling up !
I want to hear those Chrysler A57 Multibanks doing whatever a multibank does !!
I want to hear those Israeli adapted Cummins diesels !

But most of all ...... I want us all to have a blast with this build.

I don't think I want to much .... do you ?

Its all good! Cool [8D]

Murphy and his law are attacking again. I went to order the figures for my model, they were having programing problems. I am in contact with them. Today my mind is on other things though, WWII "related" Evil [}:)]. It shouldn't be long now.

so....... are we there yet?

I built a jig to help me along with the indys. Have my reference sheets and books, at the ready, new x-acto blade, new bottle of CA, table is cleared, even went out and got some canadian bacon to get in the mood (well its a canadian sherman after all, just gettin used to the smell in case I run into a tiger...), bought some LaBatts and some Molson for the after build session, spent an hour on the phone with some relatives in Ontario so I would have the peels of canadian laughter and the dulcet tones of "eh?" after ever sentence..... I'm good to go.

Yes, today's January 15, 2004. But no, I haven't touched my Sherman yet. Still finishing my Panther D which may take me until tomorrow. So I am still with the rest of you guys. In fact I might even play catch-up with this one.
