Andy - welcome aboard ..... let me know whcih Sherman you decide on so I can update the site.

Bill - Tamiya XF-61 Dark Green is a good choice for the Firefly Vc but if you want to use O.D. ... I'd suggest Tamiya XF-62.

Only took one Sherman to take out a Tiger ..... it just took 4 others to act as decoys while the one snuck around to the back door. Wink [;)]

I agree. I can't think of a more difficult physical challenge for the tank crew of a blasted Sherman trying to flee from the battle scene...

LOL.

I've already discovered that my BARV is VVSS challenged.

The VVSS system supplied with the Resicast kit is a little on the "not quite there" side when compared to the latest releases by AFV and Academy.

But, no problem. I have a spare VVSS system from AFV and a Tank Workshop Wheel set so I'll be OK.

Thanks Robert. I appreciate the picture.

I'm going with the AFV club VVSS suspension with Tank Workshop wheels because it will look much better than the ones supplied with the Resicast Kit.

So most likely it will wind up with the later style of skid. But, you never know. I do have an extra set of the 1/2 round skid.

Hhhhmmmmmm......Decisions....Decisions.

Latch - could always steal a set from an Academy kit .... hmmmm ... more decisions.

dostacos - did he confirm that or was he still in the thinking phase?

Robert,

I've got the seperate VVSS set from AFV, so I will use it instead of sacrificing a Academy kit. I agree that the Academy is probably better, but with the Tank Workshop Wheel set, the AFV set looks pretty good. It's just a little "fiddly" on the build, but it definitely looks better than what is in the Resicast kit.

The VVSS in the Resicast kit is probably converted from the Italeri VVSS system. The trailing roller has a slight "droop" at the back end. When the Resicast kit first came out, there was no accurate mid VVSS system available. But, now, with Academy, AFV, and the M4A1 from DML, we have seen the light on what it should be!

Is there something on the AFV set that I'm missing?

Thanks Robert.

Latch - not to my knowledge .... just thought I'd throw another option into the fray .... add to the confusion !!!
