Ron P. and Peter:
another 2 fantastic builds for the Sherman Family album !

as 4 me, i finished the mounting brackets at the front of the hull & pinned the
a-frames in place, added some more spiky thingies 2 the tubular a-frame &
worked on the shelves 4 the turret interior...
i'll b happy if i can get this done by the 15th...
but i have a lot of finish work (puttying, sanding & filing, my least fave stuff) Dead [xx(]ahead of me.
still, it's looking like an m32 now !

Well here's where mine is, added cheek armour done and a coat of OD on the turret. What you don't se is the resculpted co-driver fig. (I had to add the winter coat). That fig has burned up a lot of time! I also added damage to the road wheels, thought I had ordered some PE for this but when the order arrived it contained 2, yes TWO sets of damaged roadwheels which is exactly what was on the order form! LOL

Derek:
ur Sherman is looking good, can't wait 2 see it finished !

johnpo: ( & everyone else !)
thanx 4 being patient w/ me... i knew this project was going 2 take awhile &
it certainly has... it's been a lot of fun, tho' !Big Smile [:D]

last nite in the shop:
- made & installed the sheave (pulley assembly) inside the turret front
- relocated the fire extinguisher from the right side of the crew compartment floor
2 the rear of turret above the left sponson (research is better l8 than never)
-added 2 of the 4 small shelves 4 holding ammo inside turret
-reworked the mounting brackets 4 the tubular a-frame on the front hull
(next 2 driver's hatches)

i was originally planning 2 make the a-frame moveable, but this is probably asking 4 trouble since it puts the thin plastic of the mounting brackets under some serious stress every time it transitions from towing 2 lifting position...

i will b making the cable hatch & guide roller assembly 4 the glacis plate
this weekend & installing the trax, as well as finishing up some other small details & then it'll b time 4 paint, weathering... & pix !

Yes, I'm still here and still struggling.

I've run into a bit of a problem with my DML Firefly Vc. Between the upper hull and the cast transmission housing, is a "bolted" plate that runs the width of the tranny housing. The instructions don't make this too clear, but is the plate supposed to be in line with the upper hull. Other Shermmies I've seen this looks like the way it is. But the front edge of the hull came out behind the upper edge of the tranny so the plate angles back at about 60 degrees between the two of them.

I'm determined to get this turtle-back done! It may be time for a tarp!!
