Well after about 10 hours toatl worktime put in here is where I stand. I am at a standstill until the morning and then I can begin painting. All the major building is done.

Now just a base coat of white, add decals, paint and attach the afterburner, attach the canopy, touch up any colors needing such, and paint and attach tires and pitot tube and one other probe. Most will be done before work tomorrow afternoon if all goes well.

Well, I hate to say it but I'm going to miss the deadline too.  No excuses other than I've been in a terrible funk, no motivation whatsoever.

I'm going to work on it some more tonight and try to finish it up in the morning.

Hopefully some of our missing comrades will show up in the morning too.

It certainly does! Shock [:O]

Sean- Now that makes a lot of sense!  That way, the enemy aims to the left of the cockpit and misses the pilot- VERY clever! Approve [^]

Frank - The Asymmetrical wing insigna  was adopted during 1932. The purpose of that arrangement was to deny enemy pilots a convenient aimming point.

Well all righty then!  A strange looking novelty but you gave excellent examples of build techniques and style!  Should look really odd next to your other Corsairs!  In a good way of course.

I had similar issues with decaling the harrier, caused by wet fingers on not dried long enough acrylics, rubbed most off with 1200 greade wet/dry with no obvious signs.

As for that corsair well, um, err, uh... got a SD anime figure to go with it? My best bud in highschool was a corsair fan, I was a hellcat fan, old habits die hard, sorry, gotta try to stop myself going for the cheap shot...

And, FINISHED!!!  46 hours total.

Unfortunately, I didn't give the final coat of Future long enough to dry so while holding the model to paint the stripes on the arrestor gear, I left two big fingerprints on the vertical tail!

Dunce [D)]

AAACK!!!  Oh, well.  She's done now. Thumbs Up [tup]

Sean- Well done, I love that upside-down looking Corsair look-alike. Tongue [:P]  Excellent job!  Any idea why they put the Starboard national insignia closer to the fuselage than the Port side?  Always wondered why they did that...

Hoping my last Future coat dries soon, so I can attach all of the bits and be finished! Big Smile [:D]

Where are my Manners - Happy Birthday Mia Party [party] Happy B-Day [bday] Make a Toast [#toast] Pirate [oX)]

I am calling the 1/72 Heller P.Z.L. P11c  done. I spent close to four hours this morning trying to get the two upper Heller wing decals to set.  I was able to find a set of aftermarket ones in the collection. Had to look several times as they were mixed in another packet.  Yeah Roy I know ..... But I like the Search Forever System... Once I decided to remove them they decided to hold with a vengence.... 3M Green Making tape did the trick and left the paint in tact..

I was thinking bacon and toast myself!Dinner [dinner]

Mia and Dupes,

Nice job on the Harriers.  Can't wait to find out whose is whose.  Happy B-Day [bday]Mia and Dave!Party [party]Propeller [8-] Perhaps we can give him the day off from everything being his fault?

Spectre sitrep:Woke up later than planned.  Had to be at work by 2, but had to make a trip to the not so local LHS (the local LHS won't carry the newer Tamiya spray bombs) for paint and glue.  Before leaving, I attached the last of the window fairings and shot the bottom with some Tamiya fine white primer.  Got the cargo bay doors in last night with a little bit of fuss, but they look ok.  If everything goes according to plan, should be in the black by lights out.

To those still working keep up the good work and show us lots of pics!  Where's Bondo?!

Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.

Thanks Dave,

I don't know if I did it right, but I coppied the badge from the 1st page of the thread to my computer.

Then I uploaded it to Photobucket.

Then pasted it into the appropriate window in my profile.

Is there a better way???

Tom

P.S. Thanks again for running thi GB.

Ohhhh...and that egg would have looked so good with the checkerboard. Disapprove [V]

Made it with time to spare! One hour, to be exact. Wrapped everything up at 11 o'clock sharp, 47 hours in with 18 hours of bench/spray booth time. Quite happy with how they turned out - didn't realize at the outset how difficult that two-tone scheme could be...not that you can make it out in this shot. The pic is here:

It being Mia's birthday Happy B-Day [bday], I'm going to post this one and run as we're off to celebrate (both the birthday and making it through a Weekend Madness GB! Big Smile [:D]). Both of us will take close up pics of our individual birds to be posted tomorrow when we've both had time to catch some collective breaths. Hopefully we can provide some decent commentary as to what went right, what went wrong, and what we might do differently next time.

For those of you still plugging away - keep at it! Great work, everyone. Thumbs Up [tup]

Update...

Got the stickers on, except the wrap-around checkered decal for the cowl ripped into dozens of pieces when I tried to maneuver it into position.  So, I left it off.  Plan "B" called for masking the cowl off and painting it yellow, so that was out too.  So, plan "C" is now in effect!  I added the prop decals, stars, and wing walkways and am leaving it like that.  This way, it matches the plain dark blue Corsair i build last year.  So, here it is so far...

Thanks guys for the great compliments on the howitzer.

That thing was rough!

Vision Models who makes it, needs to work on thier engineering more.

There were some major fit issues and ejector pins.

I'm sorry that I didn't respond last night, I was spent!

Lots of good work going on here!

Now that I am done, how do I get my badge?

As for What I am building next, Check out my Opel Maultier w/ Flak 38 Thread;

Oh, the PZL looks lovely.  Well done on the Jeep.  As for the egg plane...beautiful madness!

Here's mine, but, I'm going to miss the deadline, as I'm using enamels now, which will take too long to dry between coats.
