Hey all....a lot of great work being posted here.  Keep it up.

I am officially 'out'.  I was unable to spend any time yesterday modeling-spent it with family & friends, so it wasn't a bad thing.  Too many outside activities 'crept in' after committing to the build.  Hopefully I can do some work later this week and I'll post pics.

And I'm up for another attempt at a "48 hour-er" in the near future.  Hopefully I will be a little wiser on picking a build and scheduling my time.

Carry on.

Cheers

Bob

Dougums,

Nice job on the jeep.

Dave,

Looking forward to seeing the Shinden in warpaint.  I thought that would make a cool what if for the Air Racer GB.

Frank,

A most eggscellent choice.  You've got us scrambling for more egg yolks.

Sean,

But it's devilled ham!  More of the PZL when you get a chance.

Dupes and Mia,

Need to run to town and post more pics.  Look forward to seeing the Harriers.

Bob, oddman, halligan, report in with more pics.

I'm calling it a night.  She's starting to look like a proper airplane now.  Think  I've got one more fairing to add then she'll be ready for primer.  Here's some pics.

Sorry guys, I will have to eject on this one.  I didnt know I would be working the weekend when I signed up for this GB.  I have been out on the bike from 6am to 4pm and we have had a couple of 100 degree days this weekend.  i've been so pooped, I cant even look at a model. Its now Sunday afternoon, and I havent even opened the box.  Deeply ashamed I couldnt even knock over a 1/144 jet.  Blush [:I]  Maybe next time.

Frank, The Corsair is looking awesome

Still plugging away here.  Got all the parts on but still need to do some finetuning on the seams and paint the pilot before I can start painting.

Buddy and Scott- Excellent work guys!

Two last photos of the Corsair for the night.  Sprayed the Future coat on so the decals can go on in the morning.  There seems to be a little bit of an eggshell effect in the clear on the fuselage, but the final coats should cure that.

Night all, see you in the morning! Big Smile [:D]

Buddy - Your knife is almost bigger then your fuselage... Was it made in Austraila ?

PZL update - Sprayed with a glossy coat of clear to give the decals something to adhere to. Other then decals just the prop, legs and windscreen.. Think I will call it a night as that C-Ration can of Pork slices is having a diddagreement with my stomache... Kinda tasted like cream corn though.

Hey

    All

Well, below is a picture of what I have got done so far. (i.e. not much.)Banged Head [banghead]

This is a combination of two factors, my my father in-laws visit, which while it is great (Yes, I actually like him.) has kind of taken away from modeling. But the second and bigger factor is that I applied my Furture coat last night without realizing the clear parts need to be used during the beginning, middle and end of the build. So I had to wait 24 hours for it to dry. Poor plannnng on my part really. (Again... Banged Head [banghead])

So anyway I am going to shoot for having this puppy assembled and hopefully painted by tommorow night then I will finish it up Monday.

Here is the pic:

See ya

Scott

Sean,

No crew on this bird, heck there ain't even a proper pit.  Just a couple of seats, so the glass will be painted black from the inside.  Looking forward to seeing more of the PZL.

Andrew,

Splendid work on the Harrier.

It's the three hour mark so I thought I'd post a sitrep.  After finding suitable grub, I came home and popped Transformers in for inspiration.  Could be the perfect movie: A-10's, AC-130, MV-22's, F-22, hot cars (even though they are Chevy's), big honkin robots with big freakin guns and Megan Fox.  What more could a boy ask for?  Got the wings and the drop tanks together.  Cut out the various bays for the guns and installed the mounting boxes for the guns (not so great a fit for these).  Cut out the leading edge of the portside landing gear bay and installed the new one.  Verrry fiddly.  If you get this kit, be vewy vewy careful.  Will go back and reinforce it with some superglue and strip styrene.  Got the cargo bay floor and cockpit bulkhead glued together, just about ready to install the nose gear bay and cargo ramp.  Since the cargo area is empty, the ramp will be in the closed position.  Here's some pics.

Try masking with teflon tape (plumbers tape)

Laugh [(-D] Thanks for the idea Brett!  I thought about that, but don't have any Teflon tape at hand, and I need to clearcoat those bombs tonight.  I think I will leave them be this time, as I don't think the coffee I have had tonight will permit painting them freehand! Sigh [sigh]

-Neu- Wow, that Frank is really looking good my friend! Big Smile [:D]

Aaron- Expecting or bloated?  I think it is just full o' gas from those burritos.  Glad to see you were able to get all four turning.

Tom- That artillery piece really came out well, excellent work!

Sean- A spiral... why didn't I think of that before? Sigh [sigh]

Andrew- That Harrier is coming along very well too, nice work!

Buddy- Glad to see you getting ready to start!  I'll be watching for those pics. Thumbs Up [tup]

Prop pics?  Oh yes, can't believe I forgot those!  Got most of the paint sprayed, hoping to get a coat of Future on it yet tonight, maybe first thing in the am.  So far, so good! Tongue [:P]

Nice job Panzer, and that Harrier look cool!

It's not for nothing I call myself the glacial modeller - this for me is light speed!

The panels at the front and back of the cockpit caused me grief.  Probably my own fault, but I painted and then sanded down and filled them around 5 times!  Since then, I've finished the cockpit, but not installed.  I've also 'Kleared' or 'Futured' the canopy, and partially assembled the mainplane.  I've also painted the cockpit surrounds (not as good as normal, but, otherwise, I'd never finish), assembled the engine, and put on the cowling.  Next step is to mask the canopy, install cockpit, and then...  we'll see!

Well First I gotta say Thanks For The Great Group Build, really enjoyed it, also my first completed Party [party]. I gotta say looking fwd to the day when I can get a quality build done in the same time some of you peeps can/did/will. I also enjoyed the posts, though I will admit sometimes there was a just skimming through posts when I was busy trying to get stuff done. Next time I do one of these I'll had the kids off to their grandparents for the week, lol.

What would I of done differently with more time? strip the first two coats of paint off and start again without the maskol, big mistake. But I'm set for next time now. So again thanks everybody for having me aboard and BIG THANKS to DaveThumbs Up [tup] for organising it

Bud, glad to see you've started.  Great subject choice.

Aaron, glad you found the other motor.  I'll sleep better tonight too.

Not much to show pics of yet, like I said earlier, lots of sanding and filling on this one but I hope to have major construction done tonight and on to paint tomorrow.

Ladies and Gents there is some mightyfine work going on here.  Mac, Brett, Neu and Tom a hearty job well done.  Guy, get off yer duff and get a kit goin.  Sean has probably moved his workbench into the privy wit what he's bin consumin lately.  I see Frank is still using those high tech stands to build those bentwing birds, if somewhat bloated in this case.  Mia and Dupes are off sampling hot sauce (ya'll really need to see the wall of homemade hot sauces at the Texas State Fair).  Bob Bailey is off putting a mean tune on that shoebox of his.  Haven't heard from Dave or Halligan, but that's probably Dave's fault (I gotta get me one of those shirts!)  Oddman's still out with his D model Sluff.  Anyone else sorry I missed ya, looking forward to some pics.  Did someone say pics?  As of 2100 14 Nov 2009 my build has started.  Proof pics follow.

Haven't broken sprue yet, but more pics will definitely follow.  Off to find some grub.

(appropriate sound effect) Ok models down thats your 48 hours...

Well Almost completed, had most of the warning decals to go and a couple of other minor decals, otherwise thats it. Not to bad considering I spent most of yesturday in the garden, adding the learning curve of camo airbrushing :D.

On the home stretch! Me and Mia have a bit of detail painting to do, then some ordinance mounting (that's what she said). ay do a bit of weathering in the morning, but other than that we're about through. 15.5 hours of bench time so far! Hopefully I can shoot into town tomorrow morning to get a couple of pics up.

Can't wait to get to sit down and look through the last few pages. Great work!
