Chime in? Moi? How absurd!  I ring the  dag gone bell like a hunchback don't you know?

Guy?  They don't have any simple Green over thar do they? Supposed to be eco friendly and makes a decent paint killer. Ask Sean on the details as he is into killing paint.

Then again I kinda like the look of it as is? I am odd that way!

Hmmm on the 262 Hasegawa kit? 1/32 style. It really shows it's age and takes some work getting things to fit.  Just warping and stuff like that.  The decals on the Galland version were pretty top notch though.  I just thought it was kinda pricey for a 1970's vintage kit. Most places charge as if it were a new release.  Like Mike said it looks good with a little lovin! The 1/48 Monogram is the best deal. Seen them on E-bay for 12 bucks.  In 1/32 the choices are more limited. The Trumpeter kits are getting big talk from the fellers here.

A couple rehash on the Hasegawa 262 Galland.  It's on Pg 23 (Oldest to newest) For an older kit the only thing that bothered me was what they charge for it!  I got it on sale too!

Did some work on the little 262 today, adding some Tamiya tape seatbelts, a control stick from a piece of copper wire with grip and leather boot from tiny drops of CA glue.  I also carved a couple of tiny lines on the sides of the cockpit tub to hint and something there besides a flat surface.  I also used my beading tool to put some circular depressions where the gauges would be.  I added a black wash to them for the photos so they would be visible.  After painting the tub, I will put a white wash in them to make them stand out.  Man, this thing is TINY!

Time to do some painting! Big Smile [:D]

Frank that should be agianst the law to make a model so tiny! Be carefull not to sneeze or you might blow the whole thing of the bench!

I have my 262 in primer and I am happy to say no ulgy spots showed up. I'm going to spray on some preshading tonight and mabye some light blue on the undersides if I am really feeling motivated! I can't post pics because my sister borrowed my camera for a couple of weeks.Sad [:(] I should have it back right about the time I will be finishing up to post pics though.

LOL, thanks for the tip- I shall be careful!  These parts are tiny, and masking is a bit tricky.  But, I managed to mask and spray the gloss black under spray, then the Alclad II aluminum and jet exhaust.  Masked and sprayed the RLM 02 inside the nose gear bay, the main gear bay, and the insides of the gear doors.  Sprayed the tires and wheels black and finally, masked and sprayed the RLM 66 in the cockpit and IP.  I'll let it cure overnight then a protective coat tomorrow morning so I can detail up the office and put the fuse together. Thumbs Up [tup]

Great news about the primer!  And, you have your canopy masks now so you can get spraying!  Bummer about the camera, let's hope Guy doesn't hand out any homework in the next couple of weeks. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Now that's just sick, Frank! As in "good" sick. My eyes are getting a touch too old for the small scales...well done so far!

Thanks Charles!  Finished up the cockpit, by painting the seatbelts and adding some tiny knobs and such on the consoles.  Also painted the buckles on the belts (though they can hardly be seen!) and the gauges on the IP.  Black centers and white rims.  Think my eyes are permanently crossed now! Shock [:O]

Andrew, I like that version you have there, its also one of the decal options in my kit. Its good to see it built so I know what it looks like.

Frank, that work you are doing is just not right. That is amazing for something so small. I have a hard enough time doing it in 1/48. Great insperation

Andrew-Great looking jet. I had to order the decals for that scheme.

Frank-That is so freakin small. Looking good!!! what no wires on the IP????lol. The piece on the tamiya 1/48 kit  I jacked up was E5 & E10. I tried combining both pieces.

Aaron-Thanks for the recap review on the hasegawa kit. You did a great job with the kit.

Jason - Maybe Guy has the parts he sawed off his for that resin conversion. Drop him about half a dozen P/M over the next few days. He might eventually see one of them...

Frank -  These other guys might let you off the hook but 1/144 is not going to cut it mister.. I/72 ~ yeah I can accept that Confused [%-)]

I had been wondering what to do with the rest of those 1/144 kits I have piled up here Mischief [:-,]

LOL, thanks Sean!  And don't you DARE send those 1/144 kits here Mister! Grumpy [|(] I think I am going to end up in the looney bin for good after this one. Dunce [D)]  And yes- she will be sporting a mottle finish.  Still playing with paint/psi ratios to get the spray pattern tight enough.  I'll figure it out!  Thank goodness there is no spinner spiral to put on this one. I've been afforded the luxury of an entire day at the bench.  Helps that I have a satellite-connected TV in my work shop to be able to watch the entire slew of college football games.  Anyway, I've made major progress.  I have the entire airframe assembled along with all of the after-market updates.  I think the kit has been largely typical Tamiya quality, with a couple of exceptions - the gun fairing piece did not sit flush at the forward point and I had to squeeze it while the liquid cement set, and neither of the engines wanted to attach properly without a lot of pressure from clamps.  I should not have attached the gun sight until later, and the forward landing gear is a bit fragile as well.

The CMK set is another issue.  The slats were incredibly fragile.  I mis-cut both of the slats that are on the wings' outer edges but I think I was able to rescue them from the trash pile.  There were pieces that the instructions indicated to install inside the wings before attaching the flaps but the instructions were not clear and I couldn't figure out how these pieces were supposed to attach.  And I dang near cut off the tip of my thumb when my XActo slipped while removing one of these pieces from its molding mount.

I have photos but the wife is using my laptop at the moment, so I'll wait to post until I can get the laptop back.  (My old desktop has been incredibly unreliable lately).

Steven- You're the secong person with issues concerning those CMK resin parts, may give them a miss when I get to mine.  Sounds like a frustrating task, and I think I could live with mine as done by Tamiya.  Looking forward to those pics! Big Smile [:D]

I got the fuselage together on the little 2623, and the wing attached.  I used Milliput to fill in the gaping holes around the engine nacelles- the only real bad fitting area so far.  The nacelles look a bit different from each other, and one definately fit better than the other.  Cockpit decking is painted, and I am getting ready to start masking the canopy this morning.  Man, that canopy is tiny! Shock [:O]

Frank - I really have to commend you for your Insanity on this one. Masking that canopy had to have been a real challenge.

Excellent Work on the Mini 262 Thumbs Up [tup]

Thanks fellas, she is so tiny my eyes are already hurting.  Gonna wait for a bit to start painting her as the tiny masking gave me a migraine.  Off for a nap and hopefully feeling better later so I can paint. Sigh [sigh]

One last pic of her on the custom paint stand. Big Smile [:D]

I'll email some of my migrane meds Frank. Looks like you might need some to finish that little 262. Talk about some serious eye strain! I leave thoses little one for the people with better younger eyes.

Nice Frank, I don't even know how to mask a 1/48 size canopy. I have opened, but not started my Me-262. Pegasus Hobbies 1a I think. It looks very similar to the Monogram kit I built, execpt there is a one piece canopy, prealigned gun bay doors, and one piece tires. It will be fun, and I should be able to build it fast. I will probably start next week. Oh and heres what it will look like

The gun bay is finally finished Smile [:)]

The wiring is a combination of PE, .015" solder and stranded copper.

And for fun, a mockup of the cockpit and gunbay in the fuselage.

Fred - Your work in the gun bay looks great! I really love the wiring in there. What did you use for wire?

Shock [:O] YIKES!  I wasn't planning on building the carrier this round.  Figured that one would take two years to build the air wing, and at least two to three years to build the carrier.  Longer than the US was involved in WWII! Sigh [sigh]

Excellent work Fred, love the wiring in that gun bay!  Really adds a busy look to it.  This build is your best work I have seen thus far, VERY well done. Approve [^]

Nice work on the gunbay Fred. Very well done.

Frank where are the pics of the 262 all painted up?

I layed down some lightblue on the underside of my 262 and then the overall topside color of light green. I am going to need a little clean up on the demarkation line tomorrow night then onto the little dark green green spots. Sorry no pics. My little sister has my digital camera. She needed it to take her pre Xmas photos. Hopefully she will bring it back soon as I feel naked without it for some reason?
