Supressionfire man you are one twisted modeler there buddy, I had to get out my jewelers lupe just to look at the pictures of the tiny bike. Not only have you built a very sweet, and, very impressive Mini-Me, then you turn around and do a Micro-Bike.

OCC is finished for now, the large photos really show where improvements can be made. Anyhow the base coat is red oxide primer, blue poster putty for the masking. Green added by brush.

Finished OCC. Headlight drilled out after paint was on, dab of arcylic chrome and topped off with future.

vetteman42 Ahh saveing it up for a finished photo. Right now is attempt #4 on the canopy. Every time I goof up I remove the Future with isoprople and start over. The base is almost done, when it all comes together I will post some completion photos. The bike looks better un-magnified, I can't see anything but the paint looking like it does.

OK, now that is CRAZY!!!  I thought the teeny tiny 262's were enough, but a 1/144 'cycle to go with them is nutz.

I finally have some photo to share!  Most of the work inside the cockpit is complete, save for a couple of levers and the shoulder harnesses.  Next time I build one of these, I may try something different on the IP as I am not excited about Trumpeter's method.  Not sure what yet, but I'll think of something.  Otherwise, I like how it turned out a lot.  I added some washes and shading to the NMF areas inside the fuselage to dirty them up a little.  From what I have read about these birds, the ground crews worked very hard keeping them in good condition so I used a restrained hand with the weathering.

Well, I'm finished with this old Dragon kit. OOB except for stretched sprue brake lines, swastika decals and True Details resin wheels to replace the horrible rubber tires that come with the kit .Not completely happy with the way it came out but she looks pretty cool. Hope you like.

OCC & Mini-Me

Decided against spending time on a pilot, can't really see much inside the cockpit anyways Painted the canopy by hand by first giveing it a enamel black wash on the frame outlines, mostly to be able to see it. The size was the reason I never masked and sprayed it, all the care taken could have turned out bad and I was eager to 'git R done. Pilot tube to be installed and whatever touch-ups I can make tomorow. The wing walk decals never worked out, I suggest cutting them to make 3 each side. Used a draftsman's black pen with less than excellent results for the wing walk dotted line. The display base will finish up soon, so ya I guess its done!

Better outdoor pictures to follow, the wires were too flexable and its a bit windy out. For the third time it became airborne! Lucky no damage done.

Thanks everyone! All minor flaws aside the important thing is it was a fun build and I learned a few new tricks along the way. I will post some better outdoor pictures sometime this week when the opportunity presents itself, looking for no wind and interisting clouds as a background.

Jason, Mini-me looks fantastic and the bike is amazing, love the inflight shots and looking forward to seeing more.

Jeremy, what a beautiful job you've done, the camo looks brilliant and I love the undercarriage details.

Steve, very nice progress, the paintwork looks to be coming on very nicely.

I'm managing to make an easy build into a more difficult build by being a big useless bonehead , spent all week sorting out the nose which I managed to get askew and then when that was sorted I went and tried to attach the armoured windshield to the front canopy with mr cement s which of course ran up between them and caused total mayhem in the canopy department!!! Why would I do that? I always use gator glue for clear parts. Any way I took them apart, let them dry and then spent a good few hours sanding the inside with micro mesh finally I dipped them in Klear (first time i've used it) and I think I can live with the result, It's not perfect but it was getting quite thin so I quit whilst still ahead.

I know I've not attached the front gear leg, this was deliberate, I'm sure I would of broken it and I'm sure I can get it on at the end

 Hey Spike, nice save on the front windscreen. I completely zoned on the armoured glass too, until I was removing the canopy masking. Weighed the options at that point and decided just to omit it.  Leaving the front gear off is a VERY good idea, take my word on that one. As a matter of fact I just broke that gear off again, and every break has been at a different spot.  Looking forward to seeing, paint on the 262!, and  the progress going smoothly for you.

 Steve, your sneakin that Me262 along nicely. The first layer of camo looks great. Looking forward to seeing more paint on this one.

Jmabx I like it a lot and there is room on my shelf for it I can tell ya. I really like the paint job and the Kermit nose.

Spike Looks like a great save on the windscreen, I would have had to toss it or get a vacuformed one. Nice cockpit too BTW. Did you brush your preshading ? I have tried doing mine with an AB but cant seem to keep the lines straight. I will be following your paint job as I am doing mine in RLM 74,75, and 76 and motteling for the first time.

Ok fellas I have decided to see if I can run with the big dogs and offically started my Me 262A 1a today. Got the cockpit parts all cut off the sprues, cleaned up, and dry fitted. I will start painting them in the morning. Lotsa work to be done on this Monogram kit.

Steve- I like your work very much, very smooth paint there!  Can't wait for more pics.  As far as RD III is concerned, I was thinking of a start date around 7/1/10?  This GB runs through May, so that gives everyone a little time between them.  I will be sure to let you know personally as soon as we know the start date.

Mike- Bummer about the clear bits, but great save nonetheless!  Honestly, I can't see any damamge in the photos, so as far as I am concerned, it's good to go!

Randy- Thanks buddy, glad to hear you are go on this one!  We'll be watching for those pics soon.

Troy- You are too kind, but I gotta be honest when I say that the SR-71 you built a while back is one of my all-time favorite builds.  What I wouldn't give to have that model in my display case.

Randy, I just used washes on the cockpit and wheel well followed by brush painting the highpoints to really try and give a sense of depth. I've used the airbrush to preshade my Hellcat cockpit but didnt bother on this one. I will preshade the exterior with the airbrush, I really enjoy that bit and usually I'm pleased with the results.

Frank, I also have an A8, should be with me in a day or two. Gonna get that D9 though...... it's calling me....
