Hey guys here is my latest update on my fw 190a-8. was a bear to close up the fuselage and wings but its all together now and put down some paint last nite.

Looks good Steve, nice job. I was interested to see how pre-shading the panel lines worked, looks like it works pretty well. I did make some progress on that Sabre, pretty much ready for paint. I'm wanting to try that Alclad paint on it but I've never used the stuff before. Gotta be a 1st time for everything though eh?

Very nice work on the FW190!

Here are some pictures, finally!   All the detail in this kit takes a while to put in place.  Everything fits so far, but it takes a lot of trial fitting to figure out the placements, and the sub assemblies have to be done carefully to avoid misalignment later on.  I have not done a lot of weathering on the inside parts as they will all be in shadow once the fuselage is closed up.  However, I think a lot will be visible through the windows provided I keep them clear.  I have been doing a lot of walking away from the bench to let parts and paint dry.  Other time commitments haven't helped progress either.  Here are some pictures.  Building notes with these pictures are on my website, here:

Here is my progress. I painted the base color on the exterior surfaces of model. I've never tried painting the major pieces before assembly, but with the A10's complex shape, I thought it might be a good idea to make painting easier later.

Thanks for the comments on the 190 guys. I also forgot to thank Jeaton for such a great present for this build its greatly appreciated.

Great work on the B-25 by the way its looking terrific

Its good to see some good progress going on in this build so keep up the good work fellas. I am still watching everyones build.

Whew!! Had to go back 4 pages to find us. Well, summer is evidently over, judging by the amount of leaves covering my lawns. Had a very busy one this year too. Lots of yardwork and landscaping, rebuilt my deck, finished building our new softball fields and even found time to get married! On the down side, I did not get any time to build. Time to sit at the bench is about the only thing I look forward to in winter, so bring it on!!  As far as my build goes, I am ready to slap on some paint. I'll get some pics on as soon as I get the airbrush going. And HEY!! Are we gonna do this again? Count me in if we do.

I have been busy with job hunting and family issues as well.  I need to get some bench time - need to change the focus of life right now.

I am all for a 5th year!  It helps my 'Christmas attitude' knowing I am getting someone something that they will enjoy, but be a surprise Christmas morning.

Lofweir, where are ya buddy? This was my 1st Secret Santa ( and I think it's an absolutely GREAT thing )so I'm not exactly sure how to set it up, and the badge thingee is way past me, but if I can help out in any way I'm there.

Since there are some of us thinking about this - and yet no one has stepped up to host a 5th year.....

Well boys, It's done.  My secret Santa sent a kit that was a little outside my comfort zone.  It was a nice one but not something that I would have chosen, but isn't that the point?

The Academy 1/48th P-26 Peashooter.

I chose the most colorful scheme to hide the construction flaws!  I now know that I never want to build WWI aircraft or ships or anything else with rigging.  I tried thread and that didn't work so well so I went with stretched sprue.  Don't look too closely or you will see the gobs of super glue and accelerator.  Good thing this goes into a cabinet and not on a contest table.
