mmhhh, I only have one 1/144 kit, a t.38 panzer (which is weird since I am an aircraft modeller) I guess I can build that one for this GB.

Hi all!

Put me down for building a Bandai MS-06J Zaku II.

TIA

I have a few HH-60 and F-14 in 1/144, BUT some of it is in the "In my stash 4"GB.
So once the voting is done for the IMS4 I'll build here whatever gets discarded.

Bottomline: sign me up!

What about already started kits and "Quick Kits" like J-wings and F-toys? You can knock one of these out in like an hour. That would go a long way towards getting people to build a bunch of kits to try and reach your goal.

Are you talking about those prepainted, mostly assembled toys?. If so I'd say no. While yes they would go along way to the build aim, I wouldn't really class them as models, more display kits and toys.

As for started? As long as its no more than 50% built, as getting a decent paint job is the biggest challenge.

Was looking through the stash and here's what I've come up with so far:

Airfix:  Saturn V, Space Shuttle, Orion Space Craft (2001: A Space Odessey)

Apex/AER/Maquette:  SS-6/R-7 Vostok

Cutting Edge: Various Shuttle bits and Decals

Dragon:  Tornado ECR in Tiger Meet colors

Monogram:  Saturn V

New Ware:  Decals for R-7 Booster

Nitto:  747

Real Space Models:  Saturn V bits

Revell:  Shuttle and 747 Combo

Revell Germany:  International Space Station

Tsukuda:  Mig 29

Trying to avoid buying kits for group builds in an effort to reduce the stash (already sold or gave away my unstarted1/48 stuff).  However, that Revell Germany C-17 calls to me whenever I walk into the LHS, as does that big Russian monster they came out with a couple of years ago.

Only if you extend the deadline to cover several lifetimes.Laugh [(-D]  Actually more of listing of possiblities.  Would have to remove the Airfix Sat V as it is over 50%.  May take an informal poll, what would ya'll like to see built.  Have to scratch the ISS as I don't have the display space available.  Ya'll let me know.

I think the Orion in PAA colors would be very cool. Or Virgin Galactic, if you can find decals.

Lewbud, I vote for the tiger meet Tornado!

I might as well join this GB. Just happens that I'm gonna be starting an An-124 in the next day or two and the timing is right. Revell, 144th.

No, I think you are thinking of Testors "Quick Kits" The kits I mean are far too fragile to be played with and therefore cannot be considered "toys". They are not pre-assembled and come with decals but are pre-painted. If that is why you don't want to include them I totally understand, but I thought I'd ask just in case.

I think everything else I have in 1/144 is in primer wating for the AB to make the rounds. Zzz [zzz] I'll double check that and get back to you.

The notice is up and hot, Andrew.

I hope no one minds if I ask questions about finished dimensions, parts count, or marking options to try to fill in some blanks for the census.  I try to be thorogh and never pass up a chance for info.

Thanks for the tip, Marc.  I made a typo when I changed the links here.  Scared me though.  The site was down several days a couple weeks ago when the host was doing something on their end.  I was trying to figure out what was going on.

Well I'm going to try to finish organizing the space decals this week and hopefully make good headway on the aircraft decals next week.  Lots of formatting and housekeeping before a page goes hot, so in some cases the link is there but the page itself isn't yet.

I'm new to the forum but would like to sign-up for the 144 group build. Mine will be the Otaki/Arii F-102 kit. Markings not yet determined. Looking forward to everyones entries.

Cheers all.

Here's the progress so far. Not being a small kit, I can see myself running out of room quickly. Decals are gonna be fun!

It occured to me tonight to check the rules for a start date and lo and behold I've jumped the gun. For this I appologize. If this is a big problem go ahead and remove my name from the GB as I don't have much choice. This is a commision piece that has a deadline and delivery will be before the Jan 1 begin date.
Sorry again for my miscue.

lew, this is the only place. Had I known someone was interested I'd have taken more pics along the way.
As it is, the kit is going together relatively well. There's some flash and the main gear was a PITA to clean up but nothing out of the ordinary for a RoG. Fit on most parts has been good up til now. There's a large panel on the bottom of the fuse that's going to need some putty inspite of my best efforts to make sure all was aligned and glued properly.
There are five options in the kit for different configurations of the doors and gear and there is fair detail in the cargo bay if one wishes to leave it open. My customer wants the plane clean though, all buttoned up. So none of the detail is getting painted and some of it is being left out. The only reason I put in what I did was to preserve the integrity of the finished model as it looks like the airframe depends on the structure inside to give it strength.
You are looking at about four hours of clean up and contruction in this the pic. Tomorrow comes the nose with engines to follow. I'm hoping the nacelles are gonna be pain free.

If the build don't get axed because I jumped the gun I'll post more pics, probably tomorrow. If it does get axed I'll open a thread in A/C so you can follow.

Hey, put me down for the Airfix 1/144 MiG-21 Fishbed. I've been looking for a reason to start that one.

Hey Peeps a few things.

I think I have everybodys details right on the table if not drop me a line I'll fix it.

We're now over 15% of the way to 144 build goal (OK yeah I'm still dream'in, so sue me :P)

Anybody have any ideas for a badge let me know, other wise I'll think of something by official start date

Another couple of hours lastnight to add weight, nose, nose gear and a couple of other pieces. I also made up the wings to get a feel for the size of the beast. Remember this thing is 1/144th? It's nearly as big as a 1/48th B-17!
