Hey guys, sorry for the absence but I ended up with some big paint chips while removing the masking from my model, got disgruntled, and had to walk away for a little while.

Jeremy- fantastic Bf-109, great mottling, cool looking white nose, great everything! Looks like you're almost done!

Nomad- the Anson looks great, can't wait to see her done.

Stik- you're making me want to find one of those great old classic kits and super detail it. Looking forward to more pics.

Sim- I've thought about doing the same thing, the modern Swedish 'plain jane' grey is just dull. But I've never worked up the guts to actually do it. I don't think it would be hard- just tedious and annoying. If I did it I'd find some good over head plans for the camo, blow it up to scale on a photo-copier and then cut out the masking to attach to the model or use the plans for a template for either frisket film or Tamiya tape. If you go ahead please post a WIP as I'd really like to see it. Good luck!

Hey everyone!  Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement on the Anson project. Wink I got alot done and would like to show you more. Got the vacuform canopy glued on I had to do major sugery to put it on but am pleased with how it turned out. I cant believe that people built vacuform kits I dont think that would be for me. Bow Down  Jeremy I am a 109 fan and love the colors on that one It will be a nice plane when finished. Toast

now I have to mask all those windows Stick out tongue

Coming together nicely Nomad! I cringe everytime I see a vac canopy... they're like Kryptonite to me. Big Smile Looks like you had to do some work to it but it's on there and ready to go. Nice job!

I've been kinda lazy with the Messerschmitt but I managed to try something I've never done before. I hollowed out the gun barrells with an Xacto knife. It probably could have come out better but I'm pretty pleased with the effect.

Hey Nomad, the canopy looks great. Good luck with the masking, that's something I cringe at.

Jmbax, very nice work on the MG muzzles. They really look fantastic hollowed out.

 Looking forward to updates

Great guns Jeremy!!!

Remind me not to get in front of you.

Pre-decal photos of my little Spit...

There are a few flaws in the paint but I'm hoping they won't show too much when she's finished. I really don't feel like repainting the whole durn thing.....

Gamera

Great guns Jeremy!!!

Remind me not to get in front of you.

Remind me not to let you behind me!!! A duel in the skies perhaps? Wink

The camo looks good on the Spit Gamera and I really like the panel shading. I don't see the these paint flaws you speak of.

As you can see I just had the Spit washed and waxed, please no hot German lead bolloxing my shiny new paint Wink

The flaws aren't obvious unless you look closely. I specialize in 'three foot models' so I'm going to let it slide here. A contest judge would kill me on it though.

Thanks!

Julez: Yes, I should have taken some photos before I put on the clear coat, the reflection makes it hard to see the pre-shading. Well, it should show up again after I hit the plane with the matte coat on finishing.

Hey, thanks Richie! Are the cowl guns supposed to be offset like that? Should they be even? The starboard MG sits back much further in the cowl than the port side MG. Huh?

Hey all....as always, a lot of great work being displayed here.  I almost hate to post pics, but I'm taking a little different approach this time.  I think I'm coming out of my slump so I'm not going to devote much attention to the cockpit-most of it will go unnoticed anyway.  My goal is to get a 'quick win' to hopefully get motivated to finish some more 'challenging' projects awaiting in the wings....along with finishing up the final 5% of my Pacific War GB P-40.....anyway, I am on holiday today (election day) so I managed to get the cockpit done and a wash applied.  My goal is to get the fuselage together tonight, wings attached and maybe get some primer on it by the weekend.  The kit is the Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire Mk. I

Julez- Thanks, glad you liked it!  Took me an hour to find one that showed the offset.  BTW, is that you in your avatar?  Do you ride, and if so- what?

Bob- Very happy to see your update!  Are those Eduard belts?  They look perfectly posed.  Well done!

Thanks all-yes, those are Eduard PE belts.  Really wish I had gone with the Zoom kit instead of belts alone-the IP could use upgrading.  Maybe next time.

I did get the fuselage & wings buttoned up yesterday-good fit, no need for filler.  Hope to get some primer on it today.

Jules-nice toys.  I enjoyed dirt biking back in my youth....spent more time on the ground than on the bike though.....

Nice one, have a mate with one similar to that, blows mine away in a straight line, I've ridden it a few times, the front wheel doesn't like staying on the ground when you crack the throttle....

Thank you all for the support and kind words it helps me stay on task to complete the Anson. Guys also love all of your WIP pictures some good looking planes going together here. I masked and painted the beast. I need to install my engine and things chettah engines but the cowl fits soo tight around the engine it wont slip in without cutting cowl in half or shaving detail off of the engine circumference. Any ideas there would help me I think I will cut engine that detail is hard to see anyhow. Big Smile
