Cheers everyone,

I just wrapped up another build and am ready to join the party.  The work I've seen so far is simply brilliant - great work everyone.

I humbly submit my entry into the lot: Eduard's beautiful Bf-109E-1 in 1/32 scale.

The kit provided a brilliant set of decals and photo-etch bits:

Another view:

I will "break sprue" this week while deciding which set of markings to use.  This is shaping up to be a good bit of fun.

More posts to follow.  Beer

Nomad that Anson looks great it's certainly worth the effort you've been putting in.

Jeremy your 109 is a real beauty, congrats on a great looking model YesYesYes

Bob that Spit is really coming along nicely, I'll actually have to get off my backside and get mine into gear.

Fasteagle I'll be looking forward to seeing those progress pics of yours

Cheers

Fasteagle: Impressive, Eduard always seems to knock the ball out of the park.

Satch: I looked at a couple of websites and didn't see a Bf-109 in 1/48 so I don't think so.

nomad68,

Excellent job and interesting Battle of Britain subject. I can't say I am familiar with the 'Aro Anson' Yet you chose this rare airplane over the heaps of Spitfires, Me-109's and other popular choices. I never followed the build WIP's and can only guess it was a limited run kit with a challenging fit every step of the way. Thanks for introducing the aircraft to everyone like me who didn't know about it.

Does Eduard make that in 1/48th also?

To the best of my knowledge there is no 48th incarnation of the Eduard 109 on the market at the moment.

Hi guys,

Sorry for not posting for so long, I've been on my jollydays and I got so busy before I left and never posted.

Jeremy your 109 came out looking a real beauty, a real nice finish, well done sir Yes.

Nomad congrats on the Anson, I really enjoyed watching you put her together and you did a fantastic job.

I also have had a few probs with my Spitfire, I was happy to be away from it for a couple of weeks but now I hope to get back to the bench in a few days.

Cheers....

Guys, finished the Spitfire last night:

There's still a few flaws with her but trying to clean them up I'd mess more up than I fixed. Also I used MiG pastels for the exhaust and gun stains. Most photos of BoB Spits I've seen showed them immaculate but I though she looks better with a little something there. I'm still new to the powders so they probably still need a little work yet.

Am still working on the figures, I suppose they're about half-way done so far:

Thanks again guys, you're too kind Embarrassed

Actually the finish is kinda rough if you look closely at her, the photos don't really show it. Anyway as I said I've got a pile of stuff on the bench, somehow it's always easier for me to start something than to finish it. I'm just happy to get something finished.

After some of the limited run kits I've been struggling with the Tamiya kit is a gem. No fit problems, no putty, no problems! The Tamiya Spitfire Mk. I earns the Giant Mutant Turtle Seal of Approval!

First off let me give a shout out to everyone here for all the great work, I'm floored by the quality of stuff you guys are cranking out.  Back at the bench after a month's hiatus in Japan. Propeller

A couple of minor disasters, dropped it  and broke the antenna mast off the tail and I put a split the canopy.  If you've got a big pile of masking tape you're going to wad up and throw away make sure the canopy didn't accidentally stick to it, ask me how I know this.   :o  Sent an email to Eduard inquiring about purchasing a replacement several weeks ago and still no reply.

Paint and future applied.  Jagdwaffe Vol. 2 Sec. 4 suggested a 70/02 for hashmarks and fill on the fuselage sides and 70/71 for the upper surfaces.  Paint is Gunze acrylic.
